Repairs to the wall and ceiling cracks by chipping and removing the damaged portion and 12mm thick plastering with CM 1:3 including making grooves over cracks, grouting with cement slurry or approved crack filling compound, providing Glass Fibre mesh or reinforcement rods, applying necessary approved quality bonding chemicals, finishing the surface, curing, white washing two coats, disposing the debris within 2Kms lead etc., all complete as per specification and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Note :The rate quoted shall be exclusive of reinforcement and formwork which will be paid for separately under relevant items.
Supplying, placing in position and removing Formwork for all insitu concrete works including sloped roof and arches etc., as per drawings and specifications, all centering, scaffolding complete (Measurement for the formwork shall be the area of forms in contact with concrete surfaces).
Providing, cutting, bending, placing and binding steel reinforcement using TMT bars of Fe-500D grade in all reinforced cement concrete works including cutting, bending, fixing, tieing in position with 1.6 mm dia soft drawn annealed binding wire, cost of cover blocks in C.M 1:2, etc., complete as per specifications and drawings. Providing and laying machine made 20mm thick burnt clay flat terrace tiles of size 230x230mm conforming to IS 2690 ( Part - I) of make Nuvocotto or other equivalent make colour and pattern over roof at all elevations jointed with cement mortar 1:4 (1 Cement : 4 Coarse sand) mixed with 2% of integral water proofing laid over a bed of 20mm thick cement motar 1:4 (1 Cement : 4 Coarse sand) and finished neat complete.
Flush pointing on roof tiles by removing the damaged pointing over existing roof tiles, cleaning, removing any growth of vegetation, washing thoroughly, pointing the joints with cement mortar 1:3 (1 cement : 3 fine sand) mixed with 2% of integral water proofing compound by weight of cement including filling the gap with polymer modified mortars or other approved water proofing chemicals etc., all completed as per specification and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Providing and laying APP (Atactic Polypropylene Polymer) modified prefabricated five layers of 4mm thick water proofing membrane, black finished reinforced with non woven polyester matt of make SIKA or STP or Asian paints with centre core non woven polyester reinforcement and finished on both sides with a thermo fusible film over a coat of bitumen primer for bitumen membrane @ 0.40 litre / sq.m. by the same membrane manufacturer of density at 250 C, 0.87-0.89kg / litre and viscosity 70-160 cps over the primer coat the layer of membrane shall be laid using Butane Torch and sealing all joints including preparing the surface so that the surface receiving membrane shall be dry, clean and free from loose materials, providing 90-100mm width of overlap with adjacent layers, sealing the joints thoroughly, raising the treatment area upto parapet wall or grooves shall be cut into the wall and membrane tucked into the groove and the groove shall be plastered with CM 1:4, etc., all complete as per direction and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Note:- i) The vital physical and chemical parameters of the membrane shall be:- a) Joint strength in longitudinal and transverse direction at 230 C as 650 & 450/N 5cm. b) Tear strength in longitudinal and transverse direction as 300/250 N. c) Softening point of membrane not less than 1500C. d) Cold flexibility shall be upto - 20 C when tested in accordance with ASTM, D - 5147. ii) The laying of membrane shall be done through the agency specialized in the job having sufficient knowledge authorised by the membrane manufacturer. iii) The rate shall be applicable for providing bituminous water proofing membrane over all type of surface viz., flat roof, sloped roof, gutter portion etc., iv) Five years guarantee from the date of completion of maintenance period shall be given by the contractor in the prescribed format of the department for the workmanship and the materials provided.
Repairing and rectifying the minor repair works in CM 1:3 like wall cracks, floor cracks, spalling of mortar on sides of doors, windows, wall and door joints, including the cost of materials, T&P etc., all complete as directed by Engineer-in-charge.

Supplying, fabricating bending and fixing the position of AISI 304 grade stainless steel section for hand railing/hanger rods made of Hollow tubes, channels, plates, etc., of required size including butt / mitre welding, grinding, buffing, polishing, making curvature (wherever required) and fitting the same with necessary stainless steel nuts and bolts complete, fixing the railing with necessary accessories & stainless steel dash fasteners, stainless steel bolts etc., of required size on the top of the floor or the side of waist slab with suitable arrangement, drilling holes in floor/walls embedding/ grouting with suitable grouting materials, etc., all complete as per drawing and specification and as directed by Engineer-In-Charge. NOTE:- 1. The stainless steel tubular pipe/ section shall conform to ASTM A554/A312. 2. All welding joint shall conform to V groove joint and joint shall be ground finish. 3. There shall not be any spatter or imperfection on the pipe and the pipe surface shall be ground and smooth. 4. External surface of SS pipe shall be buffed to mirror finish. 5. The rate shall be inclusive of providing ball joiners, flush joiners, base plate/flanges, cover plate, end caps epoxy glue, round face/square face glass connecters for fixing etched colour glass if any of required size with gaskets including curved railings where ever required cost of screws, weld etc., 6. The entire pattern of stainless steel hand railing work/pattern including fixing of etched glass, if any in the hand rail shall be got approval by Engineer in charge/Architect before execution. 7. Only weight of stainless steel members shall be considered excluding fixing accessories such as nuts, bolts, fasteners etc., for payment purpose.
Providing and fixing of size 150mm Signage letters of approved languages / Fonts made up of Brass Die cast with high polish clear coated finishing with 12mm thick box type including providing necessary supports for fixing over cladding/ wall lining using suitable fixtures, buffing / finishing for mirror finish, etc., all complete as directed by the Engineer-in-charge.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR GUIDANCE OF TENDERERS
The schedule of quantities is to be read for the purpose of pricing in conjunction with the special conditions, general rules for the guidance of contractors, conditions of contract, specifications, drawings, schedule of supply of materials and the appendices.
The prices inserted in the schedule of quantities shall be inclusive of value of the work described including all cost and expenses, which may be required in and for the construction of the work described together with the general risks, liabilities and obligations not forth or implied in the documents on which the tender is to be based.
The quantities stated are to be considered approximate only and the unit prices entered in the schedule of quantities and prices shall apply only to the actual quantities measured in the completed work in accordance with the specifications.
All the materials other than those shown in schedule of supply of materials in section VII are to be arranged by the contractor and his rates should account for the same.
Rates quoted for all items in this tender shall include cost of all materials including cement and steel. Department will not supply any materials other than materials stipulated in Section - VII of the tender and as such the rates quoted must be all inclusive.
If contractors need any clarification they are required to contact the ‘Head, E&CS, CEG, ESG, GSO, Kalpakkam – 603 102, Chengalpattu district, Tamilnadu (Ph – 044 - 27481238 and 044-27480500 Extn. 84791, 85803) during office hours.
SECTION VIII - CONDITIONS FOR CEMENT & STEEL
The contractor shall be responsible for supply of cement and procure Ordinary Portland Cement conforming to IS 269-2015 / Portland Pozzolona Cement conforming to IS: 1489-2015 and use it on works. Since the supply of cement by the department has been dispensed, all the clauses relevant to supply of cement by department in this tender document stands cancelled. The contractor shall purchase cement from the approved manufacturers only. The secured advance on cement shall be regulated as per Clause 10-B of conditions of contract. Secured advances on cement up to 90% of assessed price shall be paid to the contractor after indemnifying the Government and through insurance cover. The quantity of cement on which secured advance shall be paid will be restricted to the consignment of cement tested and passed in the test in department laboratory. Prior approval to be obtained from the Engineer for the quantities proposed to be purchased.
The contractor shall procure Ordinary Portland Cement conforming to IS 269-2015 / Portland Pozzolona Cement conforming to IS: 1489-2015 and use it on works. Ordinary Portland Cement, as required in the work, from reputed manufacturers of cement, having a production-capacity of one million tonnes per annum or more, such as A.C.C., L & T, J.P. Rewa, Vikram, Shri Cement, Birla Jute and Cement Corporation of India, etc., as approved by Ministry of Industry, Government of India, and holding license to use ISI certification mark for their product whose name shall be got approved from Engineer-in-charge. Supply of cement shall be taken in 50 Kg. bags bearing manufacturer’s name and ISI marking, samples of cement arranged by the contractor shall be taken by the Engineer-in-charge and got tested in accordance with provisions of relevant BIS codes. In case test results indicate that the cement arranged by contractor does not conform to the relevant BIS codes, the same shall stand rejected and shall be removed from the site by the contractor at his own cost within a week’s time of written order from the Engineer-in-charge to do so.
The cement shall be brought at site in bulk supply of approximately 50 tonnes or as decided by the Engineer-in-charge.
The cement Godown of having a capacity to store minimum of 2000 bags of cement shall be constructed by the contractor at site of work for which no extra payment shall be made from department. Double lock provision shall be made to the door of the cement godown. The keys of one lock shall remain with the Engineer in charge or his authorised representative and the key of the other lock shall remain with the contractor. The contractor shall be responsible for the watch and ward the safety of the cement godown. The contractor shall facilitate the inspection of the cement godown by the Engineer-in-charge at any time.
The contractor shall supply free of charge the cement required for testing. The cost of tests shall be borne by the contractor.
The actual issue and consumption of cement on work shall be regulated and proper accounts maintained as provided in Clause 10 of the contract. The theoretical consumption of cement shall be worked out as per procedure prescribed in Clause 42 of the contract and shall be governed by conditions laid therein.
Cement brought to site and cement remaining unused after completion of work shall not be removed from site without written permission of the Engineer-in-charge.
REINFORCEMENT STEEL
The contractor shall procure only TMT bars of Fe-500 / Fe-500D Grade conforming to IS – 1786 (Latest edition) produced by the following manufacturers SAIL, RINL, TATA & JINDAL with a test certificate and use it on works after getting approval from department Engineer or tested in department laboratory. Sample shall be tested for all the required parameter as specified in the BIS before bulk purchase. The contractor shall have to obtain and furnish test certificates to the Engineer-in-charge in respect of all supplies of steel brought by him to the site of work. Samples shall also be taken and got tested by the Engineer-in-charge as per the provisions in this regard in relevant BIS codes. In case the test results indicate that the steel arranged by the contractor does not conform to BIS codes, the same shall stand rejected and shall be removed from the site of work by the contractor at his cost within a week’s time from written orders from the Engineer-in-charge to do so.
The steel reinforcement shall be brought to the site in bulk supply of 10 tonnes or more or as decided by the Engineer-in-charge.
The steel reinforcement shall be stored by the contractor at site of work in such a way as to prevent distortion and corrosion and nothing extra shall be paid on this account. Bars of different sizes and lengths shall be stored separately to facilitate easy counting and checking.
For checking nominal mass, tensile strength, bend test, re-bend test etc. specimen of sufficient length shall be cut from each size of the bar at random at frequency not less than that specified below:

The contractor shall supply free of charge the steel required for testing. The cost of tests shall be borne by the contractor.
The theoretical consumption of steel on work shall be worked out as per procedure prescribed in Clause 42 of the contract and shall be governed by conditions laid therein. For the purpose of payment, weight will be calculated on the basis of bar bending schedule and weights of bar given as under. Wherever actual lengths placed differ from bar bending schedule actual length will only be measured.

General Notes of AMC for Masonry Works:
Tenderers are advised to visit the site of work with prior permission from Engineer-in-charge/Authorized representative to acquaint themselves with the nature and location of work before quoting the tender.
The work is to be carried out in residential buildings with least disturbance.
The contractor should arrange the labour pass for their labourers before commencement of work.
The Contractor shall be responsible for all the risk & cost of their labour and they should possess valid insurance policy for the entire contract period and also they have to submit the copy of insurance to the department before commencement of work.
The Contractor should provide safety belt, helmet and other safety gadget for labourers working above 1.5 m height of building.
Safety of the staff employed will be the responsibility of the contractor. Department will not be responsible for any mishap, injury/accident or death of the labours engaged by the contractor. No. claim in this regard shall be entertained/ accepted by the department. The contractor shall be responsible for all damages and accidents due to negligence on his part.
The Contractor shall arrange to provide the service on Saturday, Sunday and other holidays, in case of emergency as and when required by the Engineer-in-charge, as well as for curing purpose if necessary, failing which, penal recovery shall be made and decision of Engineer-in-charge will be final.
The contractor shall engage required mason /mazdoor and adequate material to be maintained on day by day/ regular basis.
The Contractor shall be assigned to attend the complaints on weekly basis for normal complaints and on daily basis for emergency / urgent complaints thro complaint registers / on telephones / verbal instruction from Engineer-In-Charge. In all cases, the contractor shall attend the complaints based on its priority and penal recovery will be made for delay / failure in completing the complaints as detailed below:-

The contractor shall provide daily/ weekly report stating the nature of complaints received, attended, balance complaints, etc., to the Engineer-in-charge or his authorized representative on daily/ weekly in the approved format.
The Contractor shall provide and maintain triplicate book for receiving the job complaint order from Engineer-In-Charge in the approved format.
No debris shall be left over during the repair works under each item on any day. An area for 'Debris bins' will be identified on the request of contractor for collection of debris generated on day to day basis. The Debris from debris bin shall be cleared by the contractor every month. The contractor should maintain adequate number of wheel barrows all the time for shifting the debris to Debris bin.
Penal recovery of Rs. 500/- per Cu.m will be imposed for non-clearing of debris and the decision of Engineer-in-charge will be final.
Most of the minor complaints related to internal repair works have to be carried in the quarters occupied by the residents. If the quarter where the complaints received is in door locked condition and the residents are not available at the time of visiting, then the door lock intimation slip shall be pasted on the main door or at visible area at the entrance to intimate the maintenance team attendance.
