Restoration and conservation of adjoining area of main entrance gate near bastion no. 1 at fort Bhatner, Distt. Hanumangarh

Description and specification of Item of work to be excuted

Provision for deep cleaning and sweeping, including the removal and disposal of all wild vegetation (e.g. jungle shrubs and bushes) within the designated conservation work area. This work is essential for preparing the site, establishing the working space, and creating suitable areas for material stacking and storage. The rate shall be inclusive of all labor, tools, equipment, and disposal charges.

Supplying and filling in plinth with sand under floors, including watering, ramming, consolidating and dressing complete.

Demolishing lime concrete manually/ by mechanical means and disposal of material within 50 meters lead as per direction of Engineer- in-charge.

Careful dismantling of existing stone slab (Patti) roofing laid over steel girders at first floor level (approximately 12m above ground level), preserving the historic fabric to the maximum extent possible, including careful lifting, lowering, sorting and collection of all serviceable stone slabs, stacking the same neatly at a safe designated place within the protected monument premises with lead up to 50 meters, and removal of unserviceable material as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge, complete.

Provision for taking out the budged, loose and out of plumb old and decayed bricks masonry due to back thrust by earth in mud mortar including sorting out and stacking of serviceable material and disposal of Melba by head load within lead of 50 mtrs. and lift down up to 12 mtrs. etc. complete.

Removal Taking out the dead weathed/ cracked / damaged Plaster of thickness 20 mm average of wall very carefully & disposal of the unserviceable material lead up to 100 mts.

Providing and laying 1:1:1 lime concrete (1 Lime: 1 Coarse Sand : 1 Surkhi) with 50% mortar mixed with brick agg. (20mm to 40mm gauge) on top & foundation including curring etc. complete

The restoration of the fortification wall and bastion masonry, including labor and materials, is to be executed using a 1:1:1 Lime : Sand : Surkhi combination mortar with traditional adhesive, strictly incorporating 60% collected Lakhori brick from the fort premises (up to 1 km lead) and 40% new tile brick of size 0.23x0.11x0,04 as directed by the site in-charge

Providing and laying stone slab (Patti) roofing over existing steel girders at first floor level (approximately 12.00 m above ground level) using 40% old serviceable stone slabs recovered from dismantling and 60% new matching stone slabs of approved size, thickness, colour and texture, including dressing, cutting wherever required, lifting, placing in position, proper alignment and seating over steel girders, complete in accordance with traditional conservation practices and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
