Providing / fitting by way of Replacement of 01 no. Rubber Expansion joints 914 mm dia installed / fitted with the rising main with new 01 no. Rubber Expansion joint (to be provided by the Deptt.) along with galvanized split retaining rings as well as control rods and nuts & other accessories which are to be provided by the contractor. Job involves dismantling of protection / safety cover by way of opening / cutting of rusted nuts and bolts and there after dismantling the nuts of limit rods by gas cutter, stretcher bolts plates, steel retaining rings and rusted nuts / bolts of rubber expansion joint flanges and complete dismantling of rubber expansion joints by installing mechanical jacks on both sides of rising main near the R.E joints. The job includes cleaning of all dismantling parts / accessories with cleaning chemical to remove rust and other foreign material. Removal of earth layer below the RE Joint to create a pit for facilitating workers to execute works without any obstructions. The job is to be done by either pushing of rising main on both sides with the help of crane to create space for insertion of new R.E joint or by cutting of M.S pipe on one side with gas cutter to remove pipe for installation of new R.E joint and welding of M.S pipe from where it was cut after preparing the ends of pipe by grinding and leveling with existing rising main if needed. Fitting of new rubber expansion joint by replacing the completely perished rubber washers of limit rods as per sample. Replacing the rusted / deformed nuts and bolts of flanges 40 mm dia, 175 mm long as per sample in place of old / deformed / damaged one. Strengthening of M.S flanges and top cover of R.E joint by welding at the required points. Fitting of R.E joint covers by p/f of new nuts / bolts. Complete painting of the RE Joint covers and flanges with red oxide primer and two coats of black anti-corrosive paint after cleaning of M.S flanges and top cover with wire brush and emery paper. Complete job includes cost of material, labour charges, painting charges, crane charges/tripod stand charges, to and fro carriage charges and charges for gas cutter, cost of gas, tools and tackles, nuts & bolts required for installation of R.E joint. Testing of R.E joint on full load at site. (RE joint to be provided by Deptt.)
