Providing and fixing of vertical blinds at Super Academic Block of IIT Ropar

Providing and fixing vertical blinds of approved qulaity, shade & make for different window sizes treated for dust repellency, UV proof, virtually maintenance free, including all fixtures and fittings complete in all respect as per design/shade/colour including requisite installation brackets, tilt rods, channel, spacer, cord weight, bottom chain, tilt chain, cord drive runner, bottom weight, ceiling holder, control unit, etc as required for installation at site with anchoring arrangements complete as per approved sample,at all heights, leads and lifts, including all tools and tackles, filling of Gaps whereever required with suitable material as directed by Engineer-in-charge. (The rate is inclusive of all taxes freights).

Hardware specification

Head Rail: Head rail is of 25 mm high and 47 mm wide extruded High strength aluminium alloy section with average wall thickness of minimum 0.9 mm. the section is anodized for smooth operations and has the provision of shades valance matching with louvers.

End control Unit (Reduction Gear Box) : End control unit state of art reduction gear box having the reduction ratio of 3.5:1 for a very smooth operation of the blind. This unit consists of a planetary gear in the outer housing, four small transmission gears fitted in the middle assembly and an end receiving gear attached to central sprocket unit.

Tilt Rod: It is made of extruded aluminium haivng three keyways. The tilt rod is fixed in the end control unit and drives the carrier gear mechanism to rotate the louvers. The average diameter is 5.8 mm to achieve minimum torison defleciton.

Tilter Chain: This is made of 4.5 mm plastic beads molded on 1.5 mm thick polyester cord. The pitch of the beads is 6 mm. The chain drives the sprocket fixed in the end control unit to rorate the louvers by 180 degrees. The pitch of the chain corresponds to the sprocket in perfect match for trouble free operation. It is provided in whit colour.

Carrier (Runner): This is a molded component having anti friction additive. It consists of polymer housing with wheels mountd on sides and has a gear and worm mechanism with vertical worm fixed with antongued poly carbonate stem to hold the louvers. The worm and gear mechanism are drived by tilt rod fixed to end control unit to rotate louvers by 180 degrees. The mounted wheels on sides of casing move on rails of head rail section ofr resistance free stacking of louvers.

Fabric: 100% polyester fabric made of fibre dyed yarn to prevent fabric from fading, Acrylic coating on both sides, fabric thickness 0.9 mm , fabric weight 260 GSM +-5%.

Note: A sample will be taken randomly from the received lot for third party testing of material and installation of the material will be allowed only after the test results. The cost of testing will be borne by the Institute.
