Soil Investigation for provn for conversion of ht oh lines to UG cables including ring maint unit and allied works at Faizabad

(A). Carryout boring, sampling, testing and conducting SPT test as part of soil investigation to ascertain soil profile, bearing capacity as per following requirement up to depth of 6.0m (depth shall be increased if filled earth is found upto 6.0m (a) Conduction standard penetration test (SPT) as per IS-2131-1988. The testing sahll be made at every change in strata or at the intervals of not more than 1.50mtr whichever is less. The test may be made at least intervals if sepcified or considered necessary as per 3.31 of IS-2131-1988. (b) Collection of disturbed/undisturbed soil samples from bore hole at an interval of 1.50mtr or change of strata and conducting test reporting on following soil parameter : (i) Grain size distrubtion/Particle size analysis (ii) Atterberg limits and plasticity intex (iii) Bulk and dry density (iv) Specific gravity. (v) Moisture content (vi) Harmful salt test (in case of sandy soil) (vii) Direct shear test (viii) Unconfined Un-drained test (xi) Consolidation test (x) Determination of internal angle friction C & ɸ values (xi) Differential free swell test and determinatin of swelling indexes for expansive soil. (B) The soil investingation report shall submit completely covering the following in quardruplicate : (a) Bore log chart showing depth of soil strata. (b) Ground water level (c) Probable maximum and differential settlement. (d) Safe bearing capacity for various sizes of footing at different depth. (e) Recommendations for type and depth of foundation. (f) Site plan building wise with RL of corner of building. (g) Bore hole location with reference to FFL/Fixed bench mark. (h) Bearing capacity and depth of foundation with reference to FFL/Fixed bench mark (j) Suitability of soil for refilling under floor and in trenches. Note : (a) The location of bldg/bore shall be given by GE Faizabad. (b) The soil reports shall be submitted in 3 parts: (i) Field operations (ii) Lab testing and sub soil properties. (iii) Foundation consideration with recommendation. (iv) Photographic record of soil investigation also attached with soil investigation report. (v) Soil investigation report to be also vetted by HQ CWE Allahabad before processing of payment.
