Scarifying of existing bituminous surface upto 100 mm thickness to remove irregularities, bumps or ruts, without causing any undue disturbance to the underlying sub base course by using suitable mechanical excavation means as approved by Engineer-in-charge and cleaning & preparation complete all as specified and directed.

Preparing black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc. sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface with mechanical means ie road sweeper truck to remove all loose dirt etc complete all as specified.

Preparing unsurfaced WBM surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc. sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface with mechanical means ie road sweeper truck to remove all loose dirt etc complete all as specified.

Material and labour for 7.5cm thick (compacted thickness) WBM, with coarse aggregates of grading 2 (63 to 40mm size) or of grading 3 (50 to 20mm size), spread, rolled with 8-12 tonne capacity roller and consolidated to gradient and camber required all as specified and directed.

Material and labour for applying evenly a priming / tack coat with bituminous primer of grade VG-10 @ 10 kg per 10 sq metre using paving bitumen all as specified and directed.

Material and labour for Bituminous premix semi dense asphaltic concrete 30mm consolidated thickness with 5.5% binder content by weight of total mix grade VG-30, rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient by using 8-12 tonne capacity roller complete all as specified and directed. Note for serial item No 8 and 9:- (i) Preparation of mix in hotmix plant, spreading by self propelling mechanical paver and rolling and compaction by set of rollers as specified in particular specifications shall be carried out. Hot mix plant may be installed at any distance but the contractor shall be responsible and has to maintain the required temperature of mix under all conditions tjill it is laid and compacted. Unit rate against these itrems shall include for carrying out the works with depolyment of these machinery for which nothing extra shall be payable and no delay in completion of work shall be acceptable. (ii) Central computerised Hot mix plant of adequate capacity shall be used for heating and mixing of constituents for preparation of bituminous macadam and the same shall be laid with mechanical sensor paver all as specifiedand directed (iii) Over newly provided bituminous macadam surfaces, further bituminous work, if ordered, shall be provided simultaneously after provision of bituminous macadamı & πο separate payment for provision of tack coat for bonding between the bituminous macadam & further bituminous work necessiated due to the time period gap or otherwise shall be made for separately (iv) The design mix shall be carried out from the Zonal lab/ Govt approved lab/Govt Engr College as approved by GE and design mix shall be got approved by GE before (v) The cost of all the above aspects shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rates of above item

Roughening surfaces of old concrete floor by picking, sweeping clean and washing down with water to remove dust, etc.

Material and labour for Cement concrete work in pavement/ hard-standing of flexural strength 40 kg/per square centimetre in field using 400 kg of cement per cubic metre, (incl cost of all steel formwork reqd) thickness of concrete 25 cm or less complete all as specified.

Finishing surface of concrete roads, pavements by brooming complete all as specified.

Material and labour for forming 20 mm thick (and depth of slab 200 mm) expansion joints filled with pre-formed bituminous filler and top 30mm primed and sealed with sealing compound, Grade ‘A’

Material and labour for forming Contraction (Dummy) joints 65mm deep x 10mm wide, filled with sealing compound Grade A

Material and labour for preparing bituminous surfaces of road and marking 2.5mm thick centre lines, stop lines, dashes, arrows etc. and the like n. exc 10cm wide on roads pavements with hot applied thermo plastic road marking paint of approved colour confirming to BS 3262-1989 with special applicator machine all as per manufacturers instruction complete all as specified and directed.
