Preventive Maintenance

Preventive Maintenance of Elevated Structure:- To carry out the schedule of inspection as per Viaduct manual clause 1.2 in Corridor-1,2 and 1 Extension like inspection of bearing, measurement of camber, visual inspection of Sub & Super Structure, Pier protection and drainage Arrangements with required manpower , machinery, tools, tackles and Competent Engineers and record of same in bridge inspection Register along with photograph of each bearing , Camber measurement, visual inspection and Drainage Arrangement.

Camber Measurement: Contractor has to measure Camber of PSC Girder, U Girder , Slab and all I Girder using total station and record of same in Bridge register and campare the measurement with Previous Year Measurement. Permanent marking on the structure should be carried out during measurement.

Bearing Inspection:The contractor has to inspect the bearings in all Piers and portals and copy of inspection report along with Photography as specified in Scope of work should be submitted to CMRL as per engineers instruction.

Visual Inspection: The Contractor has to visualy inspect the condition of RC Pier, Trestle, Protective works and water way Scours, Slip Or Settlement, Condition of Bearing pedesral,Steel Work, Painting, Condition of PSC/Concrete/Composite Girder in super structure/ Condition of Girder/beams , any crack or defects, Condition of handrail, Condition of median and pier protection wall, Condition of footpath and walkway platforms and record of same in Bridge register.

Drainage Arranagements:The Contractor has to inspect the condition of Drainage arrangements and rectify any damage/blockage, fixing of Pipe Support inside the PSC Girder, I Girder, U Girder and in Pier. only the Cost for replacement of damaged Plumbing items will be paid extra based on the damaged/replaced item. Cost of inspection,Replacement/fixing labours and Mobile crane for fixing of pipe in Pier is included in the item.

Corrective Maintenance Grouting of Pedestal: The Contractor has to grout the damaged Bearing Pedestals any with GP2 or Equivalent Non Shrink Groud material of M60 Garde. The work includes cost of shuttering, Curing, Removal of Shutter and manlift for accessing the Bearing Pedestal . Payment shall be made against the actual weight of Grouting done.

Repair to Voids and Honeycombing: The Contractor has to attend the Voids and HoneyCombe Noticed during inspection with the help of Cement Grout or with Epoxy Grout of M60 Garde.The work incluses cost of shuttering, Curing, Removal of Shutter and manlift for accessing the location to be repaired at Any height . Payment shall be made against the actual weight of Material Consumed.

Positioning of Bearing: The Contractor has to bring back the bearing to original Position if any Displacement/Slip noticed during Inspection. It is the responsibilty of contractor to make all arrangements for lifiting of girder with jack, Positioning of Bearing, Removal of Supports after making the structure fit for operation. Access to site has to be make ready by the Contractor.

Replacement of Bearing: The Contractor has to replaced the damaged/excessive buldged Bearing with new one. It is the responsibilty of contractor to procure( with prior approval from CMRL for specification of Bearing), and install by make all arrangements for lifiting of girder with jack, Fixing of new Bearing, and Removal of Supports after making the structure fit for operation. Access to site has to be make ready by the Contractor.

Supply and fixing of 160mm Dia PVC bend or of equalent Dia fixed inside/outside Viaduct and pier with O-Ring Joining & pasting

Supply and fixing of 160mm Dia PVC Elbow or of equalent Dia fixed inside/Outside the Viaduct and pier with O-Ring Joining & pasting

General Maintenance - One Time Work Pier Numbering: supplying and fixing retro reflective Pier no boards made up of 2 mm thick aluminium sheet, face to be fully covered with high intensity and encapsulated lens type heat activated retro reflective sheeting conforming to type - III of ASTM-D-4956-01 as approved by Engineer-in-charge, letters, borders etc. as per IRC : 67-2001 in silver white with blue colour back ground and with high intensity grade, pasted on substrate by pressure sensitive adhesive backing which shall be activated by applying pressure conforming to class II of ASTM-D-4956-01 and fixing the same on Pier by means of suitable sized aluminium alloys,rivets and Pasting with Synthetic rubber Adhesives. Sign board of Size - 300 mm x 150 mm on both face of pier

Painting of Open Web Girder at Guindy with one coat of zinc Chromate Primer confirming to IS.104 followed by one coat of Zinc Chromate Red Oxide Confirming to IS.2074 and 2 coat of aluminium paint of approved brand and manufacture confirming to IS.2339 to give an even shade.

Painting of Concrete Sub Structure (pier and pile cap) in adayar and coovam river Crossing with Two coat of Epoxy phenolic IPN Coating(Primer and middle Coat) or CECRI integrated four coat system may be applied as primer followed by one coat of Epoxy Phenolic IPN as TOP Coat..
