JOB WORK FOR SOIL INVESTIGATION FOR PROVISION OF RETAINING WALL CUM COMPOUND WALL TO RECLAIM LAND AT KALINA AT AF STATION MUMBAI

Brief specification of work 1. Material and labour for carrying out soil investigation by drilling, bore holes of 100mm dia in any type of soil upto a depth not exceeding 10m below the existing ground level conducting insitu SPT taking out undisturbed samples in standard samples transportation to laboratory drilling through boulders and weathered rock formation if any etc. all inclusive. 60 RM. Note: Boring in any type of soil be measured and paid under items no. 1. In case rock is met during the process then drilling will be measured and paid under item 2 hereunder. (a) SPT (IS 21 31:81) will be conduct at every 1.5m intervals along the boreholes. (b) The following tests shall be conducted on the disturbed and undisturbed samples (i) Natural moisture content, (ii) grain size analysis (111) bulk and dry density (iv) liquid limit and plasticity index (v) ground water table (vi) SPT chart (vii) soil classification (viii) Direct shear tests/ unconfined compression test (as applicable for type of soil) on disturbed samples recovered from SPT test (ix) Bore logging. (c) Undisturbed samples (all as per IS-2132) of 65-70mm inner dia shall be obtained at every 2m intervals and specially in clayey strata where encountered and where change of strata is (noticed) issuing standard samples 30 to 50 cms long (area ratio not exceeding 10%) these samples shall be used for carrying out laboratory consolidation in all clayey strata there undisturbed sample shall also use for carrying out unconfined compression test (IS-2720) and consolidated trained triaxle shear strength tests. (d) Test cost of boring is deemed to include all the institutes. Sampling transportation to laboratory tests, all as specified and report submission. However consolidation core tests of undisturbed clayey soil and unconsolidated and undrained triaxle shear test report shall be measured and paid separately under item No. 384 of schedule "A" herein below respectively.

2. Material and labour for carrying out soil investigation in rock strata by rock drilling (rotary drilling ) to a maximum depth of 2m in hard confined and continuous rock foundation and the submission of same in properly prepared core boxes with proper identification marks all as specified. 6 RM. 3. Consolidation core tests on undisturbed clayey samples (dia of sample 65-70mm). 12 EACH. Note: Following information shall be submitted along with the consolidation test report (a) EO long curve (b) time rate of settlement (C). Co valve (d) 10 valve(s) Natural moisture content (1) insitu bulk and dry density of soil (9) liquid limit (h) plasticity index (1) permeability of soil (k) compression modulus (e) 91 interpretation of the log P curve, classification as normally consolidated/over consolidated soil, interpreted fiddle curve and estimated settlement of suggested foundation (raft/pile).

4. Un-consolidation and undrained triaxle shear tests on soil using the undisturbed samples (minimum dia of test samples shall be 37.5mm and obtained from undisturned samples and each test shall be based on test results of specimen from the same sample): Following information shall be submitted with the shear test report. 12 EACH. (a) Effective shear strength parameters i.e. cohesion (C) and the angle of internal friction (Ø). (b) Chemical analysis of soil. (C) C-Q curves with mohr diagram (d) Natural moisture contente. (e) Index properties (f) Density of soil 5. Crushing strength of Hard rock samples recovered from drilling through hard rock strata all as defined under item No. 2 of Sch 'A' herein before. 6 EACH. 6. Chemical analysis of water for ph sulphate and chloride contents. 6 EACH. 7. Mobilization of tools and plant. 1 EACH. 8. Preparation of report by soil consultant and submission of report in 5(Five) Nos hard copy with coloured site photographs and soft copy in 1 No CD. 1 EACH. 9. Submission of bore logs samples in wooden boxes at site. 6 EACH.
