SOIL INVESTIGATION FOR PROVISION OF VARIOUS STORAGE ACCOMMODATION AT LSW AT 11 BRD AF STN OJHAR

1. To carry out the test to ascertain soil profiles/ proportion to determine safe bearing capacity complete with field and lab 2. conduct of soil investigation for followings :- (a) For soil investigation 150 mm diameter bore holes 10 mtr as per IS specifications (b) Collection of disturbed and undisturbed soil samples at a sampling interval 1.00 mtr depths or at change of strata as per revalent IS code. (c) conducting laboratory tests on disturbed & undisturbed soil samples in accordance with IS 2720 and detailed result to be given in tabular form :- (i) sieve analysis & Grain size distribution by sieve & Hydrometer test. (ii) Atterberg Limits. (iii) Natural moisture content (OMC) (iv) Particle size analysis test. (v) Bulk density / Dry density (MDD) (d) Conduction lab test on disturbed soil samples as considered necessary to relevant specification of IS 2720 and detailed result showing all relevant calculations, inderence, indicate and parameters shall be given in the soil report:- (i) Sieve analysis (ii) Atterberg Limits. (iii) natural moisture content. (iv) Particle size analysis test. (v) Bulk density. (vi) Specific gravity (vii) Free swell index and swelling properties of soil. (viii) Organic matter in soil if any (ix) Consolidation test (COmpressed index value) (x) Tri axial compression test and determination of shear parameters (C & q test) as per relevant IS. (xi) Harmful salts (Complete investigation as already ref) (e) Ground water table :- (i) Maximum and minimum levels of ground water in the area with the source of information. (ii) Ground water table during the investigation. 3. Submission of (04 Nos hard copy and 02 nos soft copy) ink signed test report with detailed description of field in investigation soil classification and general nature of soil strata, water table, interpretation of test results, grain size distribution curves, compressive index curves, site plan etc. 4. The SBC of the soil is required to be given as per following table. Calculation of bearing will be governed generally as IS 8009 (Pt- I)- 1976, IS 2720 (Py-II) - 1980, IS 6403-1981, IS 1904-1986 & IS 1080 1985 and other relevant IS codes and detailed calculations duly showing the various soil parameters/ indicates shall be given in the soil report:- Depth of foundation 1.2m x 1.2m 1.5m x 1.5m 2.0m x 2.0m 2.5m x 2.0m Remarks 1.00 mtr 1.50 mtr 2.00 mtr 2.50 mtr 5.Determination of K-valur (soil sub grade modules) of soil at various depth (as above) in feild as relevant IS code 6. With every sites soil investigation report, a detailed site plan showing the approx location of each bore duly numbered asper log of borehole should be enclosed. Location of foundation of adgacent structures especially those might be impacted by the proposed construction site. 7. Every page of soil investigation report should have the nameof the job for which soil investigation is being carried out. In case of multiple sites of a single job are being investigated name of each site be put on each page of report pertaining to the site. 8. All pages of the soil investigation report shall be serially numbered, stamped and signed by the agency carying out the soil investigation. Report should be scritinized by GE & CEW for correctness & endorsed. 9. Transportation charges including loading and unloading of heavy girders, T&P technician etc complete from laboratory to work site and back shall be deemed included in rates quoted by bidders. 10. Photographic record of Geo- explorations as well as testing shall also from part of this report 11. The GE shall intimate the approximate type of construction, utilization and dimensions of proposed building to the consultant who based on geotechnical investigations shall recommended type of foundation (viz isolated/combined footing, raft, pile etc) 12. In case of underground buildings/basement construction, or if requirement of temporary / permanent deep excavation support measures during construction of building are envisaged necessary, excavation support measures to be given by the consultant based on the geotechnical investigation.
