Mobilisation and demobilisation of suitable boring and drilling rig and all other allied equipment. The job shall also include mobilization of skilled and non-skilled personnel required for the work, setting up of boring rig at each location, including shifting between borehole positions, setting up all field equipment and making area good for setting up rig and equipment etc. complete and demobilisation of same on completion and removal from site (Contractor to mobilise sufficient equipment to the site in order to complete the work within the stipulated time-frame). Drilling rigs must be capable of vertical drilling through all kinds of soils and all types of soft to hard basaltic rock as per specification & drawing and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge.
Setting up of boring rig at each location, for each borehole location including moves between borehole positions, locating and marking the location on the ground by actual survey, setting up all field equipment and bringing all personnel to the location, making area good for setting up rig etc. complete as per specification & drawing and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge.
Core Boring vertically through all kinds of soils, weathered rock and soft rock/boulders if any, met during drilling with suitable and adequate equipment of diameter 116/150 mm or more for all depths measured below existing ground level at rig location, casing shall be provided wherever required & as directed by Engineer-In-Charge. Note: Drilling vertical coring boreholes of NX size (76 mm) using NX/NQ size diamond bit with double tube core barrel system, including collection and logging of cores, placing them in approved core boxes made of Galvanised iron (GI) 22 gauge of standard size, numbering and indexing each core, noting the lithology, colour photographs (100X150mm size) of rock cores, locking arrangements, labelling and transporting the boxes to core store/laboratory located within BARC campus and as per the direction of EIC for the following depths measured from existing ground level all as per with requirements as per IS:4078 and as directed by Engineer In Charge
up to 50 m depth
from 50 m up to 100 m depth
from 100 m up to 150 m depth
from 150 m up to 200 m depth
Core drilling of size 40 mm x 1 m or suitable depth by core cutting machine at RCC/asphalted road for positioning of electrode and back filling with suitable chemical agent after completion of work or as decided by EiC.
Lab Test: Conducting True Specific gravity of rock core samples corresponding to each rocky strata and submission of reports as per IS: 1122 and specifications as directed by Engineer-In-Charge.
Lab Test: Conducting water absorption of rock samples as per IS:1124 and specification as directed by Engineer-In-Charge.
Lab Test: Unit weight, water content, porosity, bulk density, dry density of rock sample corresponding to each rocky stratum as per IS:13030 and specifications as directed by Engineer-In-Charge.
Lab Test: Conducting Unconfined compressive strength of rock core as per procedure in IS:9143 and stress-strain curve, Poisson’s ratio and deformation modulus as per IS:9221 and specification as directed by Engineer-In-Charge.
Lab Test: Petrographic examination for mineral composition. The thin section prepared shall be submitted to BARC for further studies.
Lab Test: Determination of hydraulic conductivity of rock specimens in laboratory as per IS 3085/ BS 1377 Part 6 and as per specifications as directed by the Engineer in charge.
Lab Test: Determination of ultrasonic wave velocity of rock core specimen and dynamic properties of rock samples as per IS 10782 and asper specifications as directed by the Engineer in charge.
Mobilization of equipment for electrical resistivity survey including required resources, work force and demobilization on completion of work and removal from site.
Field Investigation: Identification of suitable location, unwinding and winding of electrical cables and inserting and picking up of electrodes for Multi-electrode Electrical resistivity meter equipment for Conducting Electrical Resistivity Sounding and profiling up to the depth of 150m as per the direction of the Engineer in charge for establishing the different resistivity layers of strata in the sub-surface and generating 3-D (2-D based on availability of space) model of sub-surface electrical resistivity with depth .
Geophysical Investigation Report: Preparation and submission of draft report and final report containing measurement methodology, governing equations, graphical forms 2D or 3D model of subsurface electrical resistivity with depth and interpretation based on the observation for each line, initially the contractor shall submit three copies of the report in draft form for the owner’s review. The report should also include the details/plots/diagrams in addition to the above
Geological Investigation Report: Preparation and submission of draft report and final report containing geological information of the region, procedure adopted for investigation, field observations, summarized test data, conclusion and recommendations. The report shall include detailed bore logs, sub-soil sections, field test results in both tabular as well as graphical forms supporting calculations for the conclusions drawn etc. Initially, the contractor shall submit three copies of the report in draft form for the owner’s review. The report should include the following details/plots/diagrams in addition to the above: Litholog of each bore hole along with borehole correlation studies of lithology, RQD, RMR, total no of fracture in run, inclination wise no of fractures etc., 3D RQD model using run wise RQD data of all boreholes, Tables showing thickness and depth of distinct weak zones observed in individual boreholes, Ground water table map etc.
