The DG Set shall consists of diesel engine coupled to a matching alternator, through flexible coupling and mounted on common base frame and complete with control panel standardized by manufacturer, fuel tank with mounting arrangements and inlet, outlet return inlet oil arrangement, exhaust pipe complete and suitable for conditions prevalent at Rangapahar (Capacity of Engine, alternators shall be worked out taking all derating factors into consideration) including PCC foundation (of suitable size leaving at least 0.5 M all around for ease of movement and 0.5 M height), anti-vibration pads, including all features conforming to IS 10002: 1981 and latest CPCB-IV+ guidelines and comprising of followings:- (i) ENGINE(Prime Mover): Diesel Engine 1500 RPM , direct injection, 3 cylinders, four stroke, radiator cooled, performance class of generator set ISO 8528-5 G2, turbo charged, capable of giving adequate BHP to drive Alternator capable of delivering 250 kVA (200 kW) at outdoor atmospheric conditions at Rangapahar, (Taking all derating factor into consideration), 12/24 Volt (as per manufacturer recommendations) electric battery start incl suitable size battery, complete withy fly wheel all standard fittings/fixtures as per manufacturer and including suitable panel with tachometer, lub oil temperature, pressure gauge and frequency meters and also including self starter system, dynamo, fuel electric control panel with electronic governor (ECPG) and Engine protection system (Shut down, low lub oil, oil pressure, over speed etc) fuel tank and first fill of lub oil and other consumables etc .

Testing : (i) All routine test certificates from the manufacturer in respect of the diesel engine, alternator and the control panel will be made available by the contractor. (ii) The Generating set shall be run for a period of 12 hours, of which at least 6 hours shall be at the rated load and for a period of one hour at 10% over load in above 12 hours running. (iii) All instruments, equipments, materials including DHPP and Engine oil and labour required for testing will be made available by contractor at his own cost and unit rate in Sch 'A' will be deemed to be included for testing to the entire satisfaction of Engr-in-Charge :- (a) Insulation resistance test on the alternator and control panel. (b) High voltage test as per BS-2613 clause 33 on the alternator when still hot. (c) Efficiency test at rated load and over load.
