SPECIAL REPAIRS TO CONVENTIONAL AND CHEMICAL EARTHING PITS IN OTM (PHASE-I AND PHASE-II) AT AFS HAKIMPET UNDER GE(AF) HAKIMPET

Taking down corroded earthing complete with gavanised steel earth plate electrode 600x600x6mm including GI pipe, complete all as specified and directed.

Taking down corroded earth continuity GI / Aluminium strip fixed to wall on batten or any other indicated situation with porcelain vitreous white separators, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for dismantling of old damaged / cracked PCC of earth pit and preparation of new earth pit using PCC 1:2:4, Type B1(using 20 mm graded granite stone aggregate) alongwith the cover with handle, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for repair of chemical earth pit by using liquid chemical earthing solution (not less than 10 Kg) and mixing with water and filling into the chemical earth pit to achieve result earth value less than 1 Ohm, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for porcelain vitreous white seperators and fixing screws etc, to be refixing alongwith the pole and wall with existing copper strip, complete all as specified and directed.

Supply, installation, testing & commissioning of maintenance free chemical earthing system conforming to IS: 3043 and as per the detailed specifications given below:- (a) Earth Electrode: Earth electrode shall be non-corrosive, solid copper round rod of size 17.20 mm dia, 3000mm long, made of high tensile low carbon steel with molecularly bonded copper coating of thickness 250 microns on the outside. (b) Bore hole: The electrode shall be installed in a 1200 mm dia 3000mm deep augured bore hole and to be filled 400mm outer dia with black soil (Note: Rates deemed to be including as supply and filling of black soil in proper manner). (c) Ground enhancing compound: The augured bore hole shall be filled with highly conductive and eco friendly grounnd enhancing carbon based backfill compound suitable for any type of soil. The quantity of ground enhancing compound shall not be less than 30 Kg per pit. (d) Earth termination clamp: The electrode shall be provided on its top with an earth termination clamp made of electrolytic grade copper, joined by exothermic welding suitable for terminating both round and flat type conductors of size 50 sqmm and above with stainless steel hardware. (e) Earth chamber: PCC chamber 300mmx300mmx300mm with cover shall be provided on the top of the earthing system on 100 mm thick PCC 1:3:6, Type C1, bed concrete. The chamber shall be flushed with ground surface. (f) Earth point test box: Copper strip of size 25mmx3mm size, 200mm long mounted on insulators and enclosed in suitable size of 2mm thick MS sheet box made of 2 mm thick & size 250mmx200mmx120mm sloped top outdoor type duly painted with two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of red oxide primer shall be provided at a suitable location . (g)Copper Strip : Copper strip of size 25X3 mm from earth pit to test point box upto 7.5 m. Make: JEF Techno Solutions/ Railtech Engineering/ JMV Earthing

NOTES : Above item includes the following notes:- (i) The length of copper strip beyond 7.5 m will be measured and paid separately. (ii) Earthing is to be done in front of the Engineer-in-charge. (iii)Test results of earthing to be submitted by the contractor for all earthing pits. (iv) The contractor shall have to give written guarantee for maintaining earth resistance of less than 1 Ohm for a period of 5 (Five) years after certified date of completion and shall deposit Rs.2200/- per earthing pit as security deposit for a period of 5(Five) years. (v) Failing to maintain resistance of earthing pit less than 1 Ohm, new earthing pit to be provided by the contractor without any extra cost. (vi) Necessary earth work excavation shall be carried out in any type of soil strata, returning, filling in and making good the surrounding area complete.

M&L for earthing pit display boards made out of 3mm thick MS sheet of size 30 cm x 35 cm welded to 75 cm long 25 x 25 x 5 mm thick MS angle iron grouted in PCC 1:3:6, Type C1(with 20mm graded granite stone aggregate) to a depth of 20 cm and applying two coats of synthetic enamel paint of approved colour over a coat of red oxide primer and writing the letters on plate for showing the following details, complete all as directed:- 1. M&L for Earth continuity conductor or main earthing lead fixed to wall on batten or recess or chases or buried 60 mm depth in ground or drawn in conduit/pipe or fixed to poles or any other indicated situation for loop earthing etc, as required 20X3mm copper strip, complete all as specified and directed. Note: Necessary brazing shall be completed at every joint alongwith nut bolt and the quoted unit rate deemed included the cost of brazing.
