De-silting at the Turning Circle of the Entrance Channel

Code No. 30.37 De-silting at the Turning Circle of the Port Navigational channel by removing silt, slush and debris from the bed of the channel complete in unhygienic and foul condition by mechanical means. The De-silting work shall be done to the required depth by engaging heavy machineries such as Excavator, loader and Crane mounted on floater and any other special type of machineries required for the work. The De-silting is to be done alongside the flowing channel in the area West of the submarine tunnel. The removal is to be done during low tide period and dumped at a distance far away from the bank of the channel to avoid the de-silted sand flowing back into channel during high tide period. The removed materials should be conveyed and dumped at the nearest stacking point at New Port within a lead of 1KM without polluting the environment. The payment shall be made based on the topo level measurements which shall be taken before and after de-silting. The levelling and other survey works shall be arranged by the Contractor at his own cost. (Note: The operation of the equipments will be in sea water condition and it is the responsibility of the contractor to take care of the safety of his equipments against tidal variation and changing sea condition. No claim for damage to the contractor’s equipments on account of the nature of operation, Tidal variation or sea condition will be allowed) The rate quoted should be inclusive of Diesel cost, men, machineries and other necessary supporting accessories and GST.
