Strengthening the existing walls by providing grouting by formation of two holes of size 1" with required intervals - depth of 300mm for an area of 1 sq.m and depending upon the site conditions injecting lime slurry consisting of lime mortar 1:2 (one lime and two of sand) using Pollachi lime in all floors added with grouting admixture by 2% weight of lime, by using required equipment and the rate includes the cost of all materials, labour charges etc., complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers.
Replastering ( base plastering) the brick wall, pillars and arches, etc., with lime mortar 1:2 ( one of lime and two of sand) to a thickness of 30 mm laid in two layers of 15mm thick using Pollachi lime in all floors etc., complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers.
Painting two coats of newly plastered wall surface with ready mixed plastic emulsion paint of first class quality and of approved colour over a priming coat including thorough scrapping, clean removal of dirt, and including necessary plaster of paris putty, wherever required etc., complete complying with standard specification.
Washing the exposed brickwork of layer of cement paint using fluoric acid solution in dilutions as specified. The area should be first be washed with clean potable water, then acid solution using soft wire brushes to prevent damaged to the surface, and finally all traces of acid removed with clean potable water, workers to be protected from exposure with masks, gloves. etc., complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers.
Applying thin coat of hand grinded lime mortar paste in lime mortar 1:1.5 with redoxide (one lime and one and half sand) 6mm thick using Pollachi lime in all floors ( mix should be with 5.9 kg of jaggery, 2 kg of glue, 1.1 kg of gallnut, 1.4 kg of oakum, 30 nos eggs, 1 litre curd, 3 kg white marble powder, 0.5 kg vajram, 0.06m3 of surki, 0.5 kg of red oxide and 0.5 kg of yellow oxide) (for 10 sq.m area) of mugal plastering ( Theervai) over the newly plastered surface as per the existing clues (including finishing the surface with smoothness) `etc., complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers. (for outer walls)

Item to include all moulding and chamber to be made as per original design indicated by the Engineer In Charge. (The rate includes the cost of teakwood, labour charges for wrought and putup to the existing clue/design, fixing in position to true alignment and gradient wherever necessary. Complying with standard specifications and as directed by the departmental officers (sample of teakwood to be shown to the Executive Engineer concerned for approval before use on work). Paving the floor with pre-polished concrete anti-skid step tiles (Required shape and design) of 20mm thick of approved quality and colour laid in Cement Mortar 1:3 (One Cement and Three sand) 20mm thick and pointed with white cement mixed with colouring pigment at the rate of 0.40 Kg. / sq.m., curing, etc., complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers. (The make and brand of the tiles should be got approved by Executive Engineer before use on works)
Manufacturing, Supplying and Fixing of Stainless Steel Hand rails for staircase using 50mm dia 304L Grade Stainless Steel pipe of 1.60mm thick at required locations to a height of 900mm from finished floor level welded to 38mm dia Stainless Steel pipe post of 1.00mm thick as vertical at 900mm centre with 2 Nos. of 25mm dia intermediate horizontal stainless steel pipe of 1.60mm thick in between. The vertical pipe has to be welded to the 100 X 100 X 6mm MS base plate encased in the base concrete. Supplying and fixing of best quality and approved variety of ISMB girder of make TATA or equivalent of various size and thickness of web and flange and above and for the various spans fixing below the madras terrace roof to support the roof in the places wherever necessary as directed by the departmental officers and fixed ISMB ‘I’ Section over the bed blocks in the wall including cost of dismantling the brick work wherever necessary for fixing the ‘I’ Section and redoing the same and also the cost of ‘I’ Section labour charges hire charges for welding machineries, hoist for lifting and hire charges for hydraulic manuals Jacky and other allied tools etc., complete including the cost of porting of ISMB - ‘I’ section etc and one coat of red oxide primer etc., complete. The I beam has to be supported on brick wall using appropriate blocks so as to support the madras terrace roofing in all the floors etc., complete complying with standard specifications.(The make and brand of the ISMB girder I section should be got approved by the Executive Engineer before use on works).
Redoing of Madras Terrace roof in all floors with one layer of brick on edge course laid as first layer over the existing Teakwood joists, Beams, I Sections, etc., which are placed at roof level in all floors using specially manufactured Terrace bricks for heritage works of size 150mm x 75mm x 25mm in lime mortar 1:1.5 (one lime and one and half sand). The second layer is laid with specially manufactured Terrace bricks for Heritage works of size 150mm x 75mm x 25mm in flat manner in lime mortar 1:2 ( one lime and t\wo sand) 20mm thick as base layer laid over the top of brick on edge course. Brick jelly lime concrete using broken brick jelly of size 20mm uniform gauge in pure slaked lime (no sand to be added) to the proportion of brick jelly to lime being 32:12.50 by volume laid over the second layer of terrace bricks for an average consolidated thickness of 100mm in a single layer of required slope/level as directed and finished by beating the concrete with wooden beaters of approved pattern, keeping the surface constantly wet by sprinkling lime jaggery (PALM JAGGERY) water. (Galnut of 10kg and jaggery of 10kg per one sq.m). The beating of the concrete is done continuously until the brick jelly lime concrete is well hardened. After ensuring the harden surface of brick jelly lime concrete, flat tiles of 150mm x 150mm x 25mm of specially manufactured superior quality to suit the heritage works is laid in two consecutive layers in lime mortar 1:2 (one lime and two sand) 15mm thick for each layer of flat tiles. The base mortar provided for the top course of flat tiles is mixed with SBR (Synthetic Butadiene Rubber) Polymer at the rate of 0.5 litres for one sq.m is applied for water proofing chemical treatment including neat finishing. The Materials like Terrace bricks for the heritage work as from Thirukkattupalli and Pollachi lime should only be used. The period of interval between laying of I layer, II layer of terrace bricks, brick jelly lime concrete and flat tiles in two consecutive layers as directed by the departmental officers.
The Madras Terrace roof laid over the roof joist, beam, etc., is well embedded in the wall to the required distance as directed by the Engineer In Charge. (The rate includes the cost of all materials like terrace brick for heritage works, brick jelly 20mm, Pollachi lime, flat tiles and SBR chemicals and labour charges for laying all items of works). Pollachi lime should only be used for preparation of mortar, brick jelly lime concrete etc.. The Terrace bricks, flat tiles should got approved by the Executive Engineer before use on works. The overall thickness of madras terrace roof laid is to be of 300mm as detailed below. Brick on edge course (I layer) = 75mm Base mortar for laying terrace bricks = 20mm Laying of terrace bricks (II layer) = 25mm Brick jelly lime concrete = 100mm Base mortar for flat tiles = 15mm Laying flat tiles(I course) = 25mm Base mortar for flat tiles (II layer) = 15mm Flat tiles (II course) = 25mm Total thickness = 300mm
Grouting and stitching the cracked wall and arches by toothing method including required special bricks of size 8"x4"x2" wherever necessary cutting of groove and fixing of key stone of size 900mmx230mmx200mm in horizontal and finishing the surface with lime mortor as per orginal etc. excluding errection of scaffolding all labour charges, etc., complete and complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers.
Refixing the new ornamental parapet stone using Hard granite stone of size 0.38m x 0.15m and height about 0.90m with true alignment in both vertical and horizontal direction in missing places on parapet wall of heritage building, with base mortar as in the combination of lime mortar 1:3, gallnut and jaggery water for fixing on brick wall and adjacent stones, the base of stone is fixed on brick wall by means of cutting with hand chisel without any damages to wall and adjacent stones, the stone joints are to be filled with heated lead solution at a very high temperature up to a depth of 20mm neatly trimmed with a trowel and straight edges, the rate inclusive of cost of stone, lime mortar, making of thermocoal die, chiselling charges, transportation to site, lifting to terrace at a height about 15.80m from ground level, fixing in position, curing of lime mortar, lead pointing, etc., complete the location of fixing, shape, design and quality of stone are to be done as directed by the departmental officer.
Supplying and fixing cuddapah stone sunshade arrangements using 40mm thick cuddapah slab inserted to existing wall surface and pointing the stone slab etc. The sunshade has to be proper support arragements like iron hook etc. The rate is inclusive cost of cuddapah slab, necessary dismantling the existing wall and redoing the same using necessary jointing materials, labour charges for fixing and necessary supporting arrangements of cuddapah sunshade etc., complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers.
Providing water membarane treatement to the leaky terrace using Synthetic Butadine Rubber sheet (SBR) including hacking the surfaces and roughening the old RCC roof surface with wire brushes and tools wherever necessary and theSynthetic Butadine Rubber sheet (SBR) has been laying before weathering course brick jelly concrete and with using necessary SBR adhesive to carefuly laying with proper joints ( the joints over lap to be not more than over lap 15cm to 20cm ) etc, including labour for laying the sheets etc complete including curing and finishing neatly complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers.
Weathering course in brick jelly lime concrete using broken brick jelly of size 20mm uniform gauge in pure slaked lime (no sand to be used) to the proportion of brick jelly to lime being 32:12.5 by volume and laid over the RCC roof slab in a single layer of required slope and finished by beating the concrete with wooden beaters of approved pattern, keeping the surface constantly wet by sprinkling lime jaggery water, etc., complete as per standard specification and as directed by the deparmental officers.
Finishing the top of roof with one course of machine pressed tiles of size 230mm x 230mm x 20mm of approved quality set in Cement Mortar 1:3 (One Cement and Three Sand) 12mm thick mixed with water proofing compound conforming to ISS at 2% by weight of cement used and the joints pointed neatly to full depth of tiles with the same cement mortar mixed with red oxide and water proofing compound including curing etc., complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers
Renewing and fixing teak wood panelled Door shutters openable type by using well seasoned teak wood of superior quality and approved variety as per the original design and pattern instructed by the Engineer in charge. The door shutter is made with two number of 120mmx40mm size vertical styles, top rail, lock rails and bottom rails of size 125mmx40mm,250mm x 40mm, 170mmx40mm respectively. The door shutter panels is covered with teak wood planks of 25mm thick including all necessary fittings brass/steel hardwares like screws, nails, hinges, hooks, tower bolts, handle, aldrops of same design, size etc complete. item to also include making all the mouldings and design of the panels as in the existing evidence. item to include complete finishing of the shutters as directed by the departmental officer. (The rate inclusive of cost of all teak wood materials, Labour wrought and putup of door frames and shutters, cost of all furniture fittings, labour charges for fixing inposition etc., complete complying with standard specifications. Renewing and fixing fully glazed shutters for windows openable type by using well seasoned teakwood of superior quality as per the original design and pattern instructed by the Engineer In Charge. The window shutter is made of vertical styles of size 80mm x 30mm. Both top and bottom rail is of size 80mm x 30mm. The window shutter panels is covered with 4mm thick plain glass which is fixed with teakwood reepers scantling of size 35mm x 30mm on both sides and the glass panel is divided into 6 parts. Item to also include making all the mouldings and design of the panels as in the existing evidence. Item to include complete finishing of the shutters as directed by the departmental officers.(The rate inclusive of cost of all teakwood materials, labour wrought and putup of door shutters, cost of all furniture fittings, cost of 4mm thick plain glass, labour charges for fixing the shutters in position etc., complete complying with standard specifications)

Construction of mortar pit of inner size 0.90m x 0.45m with brick partition wall 11.50cm thick in cement mortar 1:3 (one cement and three sand) for 60cm height with necessary earth work open excavation for a size of 1.43m x 0.98m to a depth of 0.91m and sand filling for 15cm thick, Plain Cement Concrete 1:5:10 (one cement, five sand and ten 40mm HBG stone jelly), 8cm thick with plastering 1:5 (one cement and sand), 12mm thick on both sides and top etc., complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers.
Renewing the damaged ornamental cornice around the outer wall cornice portion as per existing style and clues to a height of 0.25m with top and bottom width of 0.28m and 0.08m respectively including removing the brick work and redoing the brick work in lime mortar 1:2 (one of lime and two of sand) and plastering with lime mortar 1:2 (one of lime and two of sand) 30mm thick laid in two layers and finishing with lime mortar 1:1.5 (one lime and one and half sand) 6mm thick (Theeravai) using Pollachi lime in all floors etc., complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers.
Providing temporary barricading arrangements alround the the site using PPGI sheet of 0.47mmthick shall be fixed in the frame for made out of required height using 50mmx50mm x2.60mm square MS tubes vertical strut placed and Horizental 32mmx32mmx2.60mm thick M.S. tubes at 1.20m interval with necessary scews and welding including cost of conveyance of all required materials to work site, erecting work, cost of J- bolts washers, cement concrete bed 45cmx45cmx90cm in Plain Cement concrete 1:2:4 and including labour charges etc complete., The barricading arranagements are made to prevent the entry of public into the site is very dangerous due to the fallen roof with necessary door arrangements for staffs and labour etc.,complete and as directed by the departmental officers. [The barricade will remain in the same location till the completion of the project and No additional charges shall be paid for the extended period of contract]
Collecting the scattered debris from the campus and conveying away the same to outside by lorry to a lead of 9km including loading and unloading charges and dumping in low places and leveling etc., Complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers.
Easing and repairing hanging doors, window shutters and refixing the same after attending the petty repairs including fixing furniture fittings and excluding cost of furniture fittings etc., complete complying with standard specification and as directed by the departmental officers.
Supplying and erecting pull and push type rolling shutter with ISI make of approved size and section using 18 GI sheet. The shutter shall be painted with one coat of red oxide primer and the rate is inclusive of hood covers, transportation charges etc., Manually operated ( upto 8 Sq.m area ).
Painting new iron works such as steel doors, windows, ventilators, window bars, balustrades etc., with two coats of best approved first quality and colour of synthetic enamel paint over the existing red oxide priming coat in all floors excluding cost of priming coat etc., complete complying with standard specification. (The make, quality and colour of paint should be got approved by the Executive Engineer before use on works.)
