Renewal of water proofing treatment of roof for institute buildings at CSIR NEERI Nagpur

Removing of existing tarfelt and cleaning the surface by wire brush to remove all lose material, dust, dirt, greases etc. to receive the new treatment including disposal of unserviceable material within 1KM lead within NEERI premises etc. complete.

Demolishing cement concrete manually/ by mechanical means including disposal of material within 50 metres lead as per direction of Engineer - in - charge

Nominal concrete 1:3:6 or richer mix (i/c equivalent design mix)

Repairing of exposed cracks which are visible on the plastered surface by applying polysulphide primer and sealing of cracks with Elastomeric polysulphide sealant etc. complete as per the direction of engineer-in-charge. (Maximum crack width considered--20mm(w) x 20mm(D)

Grading and leveling of roof for water proofing treatment by adding polypropyelene glass fibers of approved make. (Polypropyelene Glass Fibers, water proofing compound will be paid separately.)

Cement concrete 1:2:4 (1 cement : 2 coarse sand : 4 graded stone aggregate 10 mm and down )

Providing waterproofing for the terrace by Liquid Membrane Treatment method by following as per the specifications listed below with a guarantee period of 5 years. Supplying, providing and applying water proofing treatment with Liquid Membrane type water proofing methods using polymer modified water based bituminous flexible Liquid membranes having High melting points (Up to 120° C), flexible (Up to 900% ASTM D 522-93a Method B), tensile recovery 95%, High solid ASTM D1644, Crack bridging with high adhesive strength, high tear resistance and top coating with Special resin based white coat having heat resistance up to 120° C, flexible 200-300% ASTM D2370, 95% tensile set recovery, high UV resistance ASTM G 53:88, SBR base Primer and Fiber Mesh 10x10 Size.

a) First layer :- Premiering the surface with one coat of SBR Based Primer with a spread rate of 150 grams/ Sqmt. b) Second layer :- One coat of Polymer modified bituminous water based liquid membrane diluting with water (ratio: 1:1000 ml water) with a spread rate of 100 grams/Sqmt. c) Third layer :- Reinforcement of non owen fabric cloth 20 to 25 GSM @0.8 Sqmt/ M2 fabric cloth. (Total top area will be measured for payment). d) Fourth layer :- One coat of Polymer modified bituminous water based liquid membrane diluting with water (ratio: 1:250 ml water) with a spread rate of 300 grams/Sqmt. This layer will be allowed to be air cured for 2-4hours. e) Fifth layer :- Two coats of Special resin based Polymer modified UV resistance white water based liquid membrane diluting with water (ratio: 1:200 ml water) with a spread rate of 300 grams/Sqmt/coat. Second coat treatment will be carried out after first coat is considerably dried up.

Note:- After completion of the above treatment, the bidder will perform the leak proofness test by filling the avg.100mm thick water over treated area for 3 days. The Bidder shall provide 5years guaranty against leak proof ness of the treated area on rupees 100 non judicial stamp paper.

Extra for making chequers of approved pattern on cement concrete floors, steps, landing, pavements etc.

Supply of Polyester Triangular Fiber 12/18 mm length, 30-35 micron Diameter with a melting point 240-260 °C shall be homogenously mixed with concrete as specified by the manufacturer as secondary reinforcement material to be added in cement concrete and cement mortar @ 1paket / bag of cement (50kg) as per the direction of Engineer-in-charge.

Providing and mixing Integral Waterproofing Admixture in cement mortar or cement concrete (Mixing proportion: @ 250 ml/bag of cement (50Kg)) having good plasticizing properties confirms to IS:2645-1975 complete as per the direction of Engineering-in-charge.

Making groove of dimension 25(H) x 25(D) mm in brick work along the length of parapet wall and finishing the same with cement mortar 1:3 (1 Cement : 3 Coarse sand) etc. complete as per the direction of Engineer-in-charge.

Providing and fixing on wall face unplasticised-Rigid PVC rain water pipes conforming to IS:13592 Type A including jointing with seal ring conforming to IS: 5382 leaving 10 mm gap for thermal expansion.

Providing and fixing unplasticised -PVC pipe clips of approved design to unplasticised - PVC rain water pipes by means of 50x50x50mm hard wood plugs, screwed with M.S. screws of required length including cutting brick work and fixing in cement mortar 1:4 (1 cement : 4 coarse sand) and making good the wall etc. complete.

Making hole in concrete/brick wall for the rain water outlet by using Core Cutting Method having dimension of (125mm Dia and 225mm depth) on the terrace (up to 3rd floor height) of the building including required scaffolding etc. complete as per the direction of Engineer-in-charge.

Providing UV protection Liquid Membrane Treatment for the roof as per the specifications and method given below.

Two coat of special resin based Polymer modified UV resistance white water based liquid membrane [(having Heat Resistance (ASTM A491) up to 1200C, High UV Resistance ASTM G 53:88, Flexible 200-300% (ASTM-D 2370), Tensile Set Recovery 95%] diluted with water (ratio: 1: 200ml water) having spread rate @ 300gms/Sqm/coat. The second coat of treatment will be carried out after first coat is considerably dried up.
