| 1 | Mechanized Cleaning and Disinfection of OHT with Six (6) Stages comprising Mechanical Dewatering, desludging and removal of left over dirty water sludge, cleaning of the walls, roof and floor of OHTs from 10,000 gallons to 2 lakh gallons capacity up to 45 mtr staging with the following stages:-
STAGE - I
Mechanized Dewatering – Mechanized dewatering should be done by submersible dewatering pump having suitable outlet, discharge and control panel. The details of motor, cable, seal, material of construction and control panel should be furnished.
STAGE – II
Sludge Removal – Desilting and removal of left over dirty water sludge with a sludge removal pump.
STAGE – III
High Pressure Cleaning – Cleaning of wall, ceiling and floor by high pressure of 80–180 bars. Cleaning should be done by high pressure cleaner with the following specifications: Fully automatic controlled, auto start-stop, imported high pressure cleaning machine having F-Class insulation protection. The heavy duty machine should be operated by HPC operator on continuous duty in variable fully adjustable mode from working pressure of 100–180 bars. The machine should have imported twin steel core protection rubber high pressure hose for safety, withstanding operating pressure of 250 bar, and two cleaning lances, one with rotary jet and the second one a flat jet for effective drinking water tank operation.
STAGE – IV
Vacuum Cleaning – Removal of remaining sludge from the floor with the help of industrial vacuum cleaner.
(A) Removal of remaining sludge with the help of imported heavy duty industrial vacuum cleaner and sludge sucker having maximum power of 1200 watts, with suitable heavy duty motor.
(B) Imported sludge sucker should be a part of the high pressure system which sucks sludge and throws the same out of the tank. This must handle solid particles as well.
STAGE – V
Anti-Bacterial Spray – Spraying of non-toxic, biodegradable, eco-friendly anti-bacterial agent to disinfect the tank from all harmful pathogens. The dose utilized should be safe as per WHO guidelines.
STAGE – VI
UV Radiator – Treatment of inside of tank by exposing UV radiator to kill further suspended or floating bacteria, if any. Treatment of inside tank should be done by exposing UV radiation by imported heavy duty UV radiator. The radiator should be designed in a way to ensure 360 degrees of sterilization and should have suitable lamps for effective sterilization for a period of 8000 working hours. The radiator must be totally portable and effective for final sterilization of drinking water tanks for elimination of floating and suspended bacteria.
Notes:-
i. Contractor must clean and disinfect the water storage tank within 24 hours after giving the site by Engineer-in-Charge to avoid the inconvenience for distribution of water supply to the connected area.
ii. In case of any accident during the work in progress, the contractor will be fully responsible to give necessary medical aid and also compensate the worker under the Compensation Act, 1923.
iii. No extra payment will be made for transportation of any machinery required for cleaning and disinfection of the storage tank.
iv. Contractor must arrange the videography during the work in progress and submit the CD in 2 copies to the Engineer-in-Charge without any extra payment.
v. Contractor must write the date of cleaning and capacity of tank on the wall of the storage tank in size of 2 ft × 2 ft base prepared by enamel paint. Base should be in light blue colour and letters should be white colour without extra payment.
vi. While executing the work, the contractor must have all safety equipment and follow all safety parameters at site.

(ii) PCC pit shall be provided at least 500mm away from the earth pit and not just on the earth pit and extra cost of additional length of water pipes and fittings, junctions, elbow etc shall be deemed to be included in the unit rate.
