PROVN OF ROAD AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS AT KALIMPONG MIL STN UNDER GE 867 EWS

Surface excavation not exceeding 30 cm deep and averaging 27 cm deep and getting out hard / dense soil, complete all as specified and directed.

Rolling and consolidating formation surfaces of road / berms in cutting to required level, gradient and camber with 8 to 12 tonne power mechanical road roller including watering as required in each layer of 75mm(compacted thickness), complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for 100 mm thick (spread thickness) soling (or sub base) with broken boulders or quarried stone inter stices filled, surface formed and rolled and consolidated to required gradient and camber required using 8 to 12 tonne power mechanical road roller, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L 150 cm thick (Compacted thickness) WBM in two layer (75 mm in each layer) with Granite, trap or Basalt, coarse aggregates of grading 2 (63 to 40mm size) or of grading 3 (50 to 20mm size), spread, rolled and consolidated to gradient and camber required using 8-12 tonne power road roller, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for preparing unsurfaced / new water bound macadam(WBM) surfaces by brushing with Wire Brushes for removing Caked, Mud, etc., Sweeping with Brooms and finally Fanning the Cleaned Surface with Gunny Bags to remove all loose dirts, etc. and applying evenly a priming/tack coat with bituminous primer of grade 10 Pack (VG-10) @ 10kg per 10 sqm over WBM surfaces, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for premix bituminous macadam using paving bitumen of grade 30 Pack (VG-30) @ 4% by weight of total mix laid / rolled and compacted to required gradient and camber with 8 to12 tonne power road roller and rolled to a uniform smooth surface (consolidated thickness 75 mm or less), complete all as specified and as directed.

M&L for 40 mm thick consolidated thickness bituminous premixed carpet with 0.54 Cu.m per 10 sqm of stone chipping and mixed with 29.20 kg per 10 sqm of binder using paving bitumen grade 30 Pack (VG-30) laid and rolled with 8 to 12 tonne power road roller and compacted to required camber and gradient, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for Precast kerb stone with plain cement concrete (1:2:4), type B1 (using 20mm graded crushed stone aggregate) and setting in cement mortar (1:6) as continous edginh for road laid vertically both of road sidecomplete with joints to match, all as specified and directed.

Removal of surplus excavated soils to a distance not exceeding 50m and depositing where directed at a level not exceeding 1.50m above the starting point, complete all as specified and directed.

M&L for applying thermoplastic road marking paint of approved colour upto 10cm width in edges of road with 2.75 mm or more thickness, applied using mechanically propelled vehicle consisting heated hopper mounted on a pram, which feeds hot molten thermoplastic under gravity to a rectangular screed with a gate at the base whose opening is set to produce the thickness and road marking paint of approved colour confirming to BS 3262-1989, complete all as specified and as directed.
