81490 REPAIRS/RESURFACING OF ROADS AND ROAD FURNITURE AT 7N DET AND INS PARUNDU UNDER GE TIRUNELVELI

Repair to pot holes any depth, not exceeding 1 Sqm each incl sweeping free from dust and mud or water, scouring sunken surfaces in road, paths etc. cutting around edges to at least 25 mm in depth, making good by filling in screened & graded road metal, watering and well ramming (including supply of road metal) complete all as specified and directed.

Material and Labour for Preparing of existing black top surfaces of road by using air compressor, brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud, sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces with gunny bags to remove all loose dirt etc and applying evenly a tack coat of Cationic Bitumen Emulsion (RS-1) conforming to IS: 8887 at a rate of application of 3kg/10 sqm on bituminous surface as specified in Table 500-5 of MORTH specification for road and bridge works 2013, using mechanical sprayer after cleaning of existing surface complete all as specified and directed.

Material and labour for Bituminous premix semi-dense asphaltic concrete 30 mm consolidated thickness with 5.50% binder content (paving bitumen VG-30) by weight of total mix by hot mix process laid and compacted to required camber and gradient using mechanical paver and rolled to a uniform, smooth surface with power roller 8 to 12 tonne complete all as specified and directed. Note: The contractor's quoted rates shall also be deemed to include the following element:- (i) In case of variation in the binder content as per approved design mix in comparison with the binder content as specified above, the variation in qty of binder content on lesser side shall be adjusted through supply only rate of Bitumen VG-30. However, variation on the upper side shall be carried out by the contractor without any price adjustment (ii) Job mix formula for the semi dense asphaltic concrete shall be obtained from institutes specified in Particular specifications.

Providing and laying 50 to 100mm average compacted thickness bituminous macadam with bitumen of grade VG-30 @ 4% (percentage by weight of total mix) using crushed stone aggregates of specified grading premixed with bituminous binder in batch type hot mix plant , transported to site by tippers, laid over a previously prepared surface with paver to required grade, level and alignment & rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem rollers as per specifications to achieve the desired compaction and density, complete as per specifications & directions of Engr-in-Charge.

Material and labour for applying 2.5 mm thick retro reflective paint of specified shade/ colour, either continuous or broken lines, to the required width and length over the existing painted surface/ new bituminous surface with solvent based road marking paint (Retro reflective paint) Brand: Road King or equivalent brand approved by MORTH, IRC and AAI including supply of paint material @ 5 Kg per Sqm and glass beads @ 0.35 Kg per Sqm (Reflective Index 1.5) using semi automatic thermoplastic paint applicator machine fitted with profile shoe, glass bead dispenser, propane tank heater and profile shoe heater driven by experienced operator on road including all materials, labour, T&P and cleaning the road surface of dirt, seals, oil, grease and foreign materials etc.complete all as specified and directed

S & F in repairs metal tubular delineator made out of ABS round body fitted with 2 Nos 65mm dia highly reflective reflectors made out of PMMA & mounted on 45/50 mm dia MS pipe of 600mm height duly powder coated and fitted with thermoplastic elastomer reflector in 3 bands of green, red & yellow radium tape of 25mm wide strips with anti theft steel net for reflector protection including embedding in PCC 1 : 2 : 4 (150 x 150 x 300mm) type B1 complete all as specified & directed. Note: Quoted rate is inclusive of necessary excavation, returning filling and removal of excess soil also.

Supply and fixing in repairs cat eye solar reflective type made of metal alloy body of size 100mm x 100mm x 20mm with PAMA strip lens reflector of model No. DA 972.0 fixed with and incl MS stud of suitable size as per manufactures instructions.

Supply and fixing retro reflective mandatory/regulatory sign boards of 900mm dia with support length of 3750mm made up of 2 mm thick aluminium sheet, face to be fully covered with high intensity encapsulated type heat activated retro reflective sheeting conforming to type - IV of ASTM-D 4956-01 in blue and silver white or other colour combination duly written with subject message (bi-lingual), symbols and borders as per IRC ; 67:2001, pasted on substrate by an adhesive backing which shall be activated by applying heat and pressure conforming to class -2 of ASTM-D-4956-01 and fixing the same with suitable sized aluminium alloy rivets @ 20 cm c/c to back support frame of M.S. angle iron of size 25x25x3 mm along with theft resistant measures, mounted and fixed with 2 Nos. M.S. angles of size 35x35x5 mm to a vertical post made up to M.S. Tee section ISMT 50x50x6 mm welded with base plate of size 100x100x5 mm at the bottom end and including making holes in pipes, angles, flats, providing & fixing M.S. message plate of required size, steel work to be painted with two or more coats of synthetic enamel paint of required shade over priming coat of zinc chromate yellow primer (vertical MS-Tee support to be painted in black and white colours).Backside of aluminium sheet to be painted with two or more coats of epoxy paint over and including appropriate priming coat including all leads and lifts complete as per direction of Engr-in-Charge
