CONSTRUCTION OF 4 LANNING APPROACH ROAD TO ADAMPUR AIRPORT (RD 4.30 TO 5.55 KM) PHASE-II INCLDUING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE OF 5 YEARS (ONE YEAR DEFECTS LIABILITY PERIOD PLUS FOUR YEAR MAINTENANCE PERIOD)

i) CIVIL WORKS:-

Clearing and grubbing road land including uprooting rank vegetation, grass, bushes, shrubs, saplings and trees girth up to 300 mm, removal of stumps of trees cut earlier and disposal of unserviceable materials and stacking of se rviceable material to be used or auctioned, up to a lead of 1000 meters including removal and disposal of top organic soil not exceeding 150 mm in thickness as per technical clause 201 of MORT&H specifications In area of Light Jungle (By Mechanical Means)

Construction of embankment with good quality earth obtained from borrow pits including compensation of earth, loading, unloading, carriage to site of work, spreading, grading to required slope and compacting to meet requirement of table 300-2 as per technical clause 305 of MORT&H specifications.

Providing and Laying of Sand to achieve CBR 7% including watering, Compaction, Loading & unloading, carriage to site of work, grading to required slope as per Satisfaction of Engineer in Charge

Earthfilling in the Central Verge with earth brought from Private land including loading & unloading, watering as per satisfaction of Engineer in Charge.

Compaction of earth work & Preparation of sub grade including loosening, leveling of earth 225mm thick top layer, rough dressing of soil, final dressing of earth to give level, camber, watering, rolling with road roller, compacting the bed to achieve minimum dry density as given in the Table 300-2 as per Technical clause 305 of MORT&H specifications. (In case of link roads earth work to be done by villagers)

Construction of granular sub-base by providing coarse graded material grading-II, spreading in uniform layers with motor grader on prepared surface, mixing by mix in place method with rotavator at OMC, and compacting with vibratory roller to achieve the desired density, complete as per technical clause 401 of MORT&H specifications

Providing, laying, spreading and compacting stone aggregates of Wet Mix Macadam specification including premixing the Material with water at OMC in mechanical mix plant , to site of work , laying in uniform layers with paver in sub base / base course on well prepared surface and compacting with vibratory roller to achieve the desired density complete as per technical clause 406 of MORT&H specification.

Providing and applying primer coat with bitumen emulsion SS on prepared surface of granular base including cleaning of road surface and spraying primer at the rate of 0.85kg/sqm complete as per technical clause 502 of MORT&H specifications.

Providing and laying dense graded bituminous macadam 50mm to 75mm thick with Continuous type hot mix plant using crushed aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous binder VG-30 @ 4.5%, laying with a Paver Finisher Mechanical to the required grade, level and alignment, rolling with smooth wheeled,vibratory and tandem rollers to achieve the desired compaction complete as per technical clause 505 of MORT&H specifications NOTES :- (i) Job mix formula for the dense bituminous macadam shall be provided by the agency and shall be got approved from Punjab PWD, B&R Research Laboratory Patiala before adoption at site for execution. (ii) The specification of this item for analytic purpose is kept with bitumen content @ 4.50% weight of mix variation as compared with job mix formula shall be paid / deducted accordingly. The limits of variation shall be worked out with the approved formula. TECHNICAL NOTE : - (i) Apart from the confirmity with the grading and quantity requirement of invidual ingredients exhibited above the mix aggregate i.e.coarse and fine aggregate for dense bituminous concrete shall meet all requirements set forth clause 505 of MORT & H specifications. (ii) The final grading for the aggregates required for dense bituminous macadam confirming to table 500.10 of MORT & H specifications shall be determined after getting the dense bituminous macadam designed from Punjab PWD, B&R Research Laboratory Patiala after obtaining 60 % of material. The design mix so finally approved shall be termed as the approved mix. The aggregates shall be hydrophobic and of low porosity. The aggregates shall satisfy the physical requirement set fourth in table 500-6 (addendum to latest revision). (iii) The approved mix shall exhibit the following details, source and location of all material: - (a) Binder expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (b) Course expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (c) Crushed bajri expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (d) Fine aggregate expressed as percentage by weight of total mix (e) A single definite percentage passing each sieve for mixed aggregates. (f) Density of dense bituminous macadam after compaction will be not less than 2.30 gm/CC.
