Providing and casting insitu Reinforced Cement Concrete of the following grades of design mix by Weigh batching using machine crushed hard broken granite stone of nominal size 20mm including cost of admixtures in recommended proportion wherever required, mechanical mixing, transporting, placing at all lifts, vibrating, consolidation, curing, finishing smooth all exposed faces, for all insitu concrete items, etc., as per drawings and specifications. Note : 1) The rate quoted shall be exclusive of reinforcement and formwork which will be paid for separately under relevant items. 2) The rate of concrete shall include the cost of admixture in recommended proportions as per IS 9103 as per direction of Engineer-in-charge. 3) Cement proportion for Concrete Mix shall be on the basis of weigh batching only as per design mix. 4) The cost towards any upward / downward variation required to obtain the specified strength over the minimum cement content will be paid for or deducted at the rate specified in Schedule 'F'.

Providing and constructing 110mm thick brick work for partition walls at al lifts in cement mortar 1:4 using well cured flyash bricks of class 5 (non-modular) made up of using Flyash + Sand + Lime + additves (Gypsum/Cement) with waterproofing chemicals and accelerators confirming to IS-12894 or latest edition including supplying and providing 2 Nos. of 6/8mm MS rod at every third layer, suitable scaffolding, raking out joints, continuos curing for specified period, etc., all complete as per specifications and drawings.

Refixing of existing MS grills/gates using retrieved materials, including necessary cutting, welding, aligning, and fixing to compound walls or RCC column members by providing and welding hinges over embedded plates (EPs) or fixing with anchor fasteners as required, including plastering of damaged wall surfaces, scrubbing of the existing painted MS structural steel members and finishing to match the adjacent surfaces. The exposed steel surfaces shall be painted with two coats of PU metal coat finish paint (MRF or other approved make) over one coat of epoxy zinc phosphate primer, using appropriate thinners (1110 Ep thinner for primer and the recommended thinner for PU finish) as per manufacturer’s specifications. H Specification for road and bridge works (Fifth Revision) using 53mm downgraded stone aggregate including cost of coarse aggregates, fine aggregate, premixing the Material with water at OMC in mechanical mix plant, carriage of mixed Material by tipper to site, laying in uniform layers with paver/motor grader in sub-base / base course on well prepared surface and compacting with vibratory roller to achieve the desired density, etc., all as per specification and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Providing and laying factory made precast Kerb stone of M-20 grade cement concrete of size 100mm thick & 500mm ± 50mm depth with suitable interlocking arrangement, top chamfering of size 50x70 mm or as approved size including excavation, conveying, laying the precast kerb blocks in position to the required line, level and curvature, making joints with or without grooves (thickness of joints except at sharp curve shall not to more than 5mm), jointing / pointing the joints with cement mortar 1:3, refilling the sides, compacting, making drainage opening wherever required, etc., all complete as per specification and as directed. (Note: Length of finished Kerb edging shall be measured for payment and Precast kerb stone shall be approved by Engineer-in-charge.)
Providing and laying 60mm thick factory made chamfered edge prefabricated cement concrete interlocking Solid / perforated paver block of M-30 grade made by table vibratory method using PU moulded with strong vibratory compaction of approved size, design, shape, laid in required colour and pattern over 50mm thick compacted bed of coarse sand including cost of sand filling, levelling with required slope, ramming the surface, watering, consolidation using vibratory earth rammers, filling the joints with sand, cleaning, etc., all complete as per specification and as directed by the Engineer-incharge.
Supplying and spraying of Tack coat using bituminous emulsion (RS conforming to IS 8887) at the rate of 0.25 Kgs. per Sq.m. on the prepared granular surface including cleaning with wire brushes, small pick axes sweeping with brooms or soft brush and finally dusting with old gunny bags and compressed air to receive bituminous treatment all complete as per specification and as directed.
Grading-II (19 mm nominal size) for 50-75mm Layer thick
Providing and laying of Bituminous Concrete layer conforming to clause 507 (Grading II) of MORT&H Specification for road and bridge works (Fifth revision) using VG30 grade bitumen with minimum bitumen content of 5.4 % by mass of total mix, including cost of coarse aggregates, fine aggregates, bitumen etc., preheating and mixing at hot mix plant, cleaning of the road surface before laying the mix, application of tack coat, carrying the hot premixed materials by means of tipper, laying the hot premixed material with paver finisher, rolling with power roller with necessary hand packing and pinning to give an even surface and to achieve the desired compaction, spreading Quarry Dust, including running expenses of all plants and machineries and proper traffic control during execution, quality control tests at required interval, etc., all complete as per specifications and as directed by Engineer-In-Charge. Note: - 1) Cleaning the road surface shall be carried out with wire brush, sweeping with mechanical broom and dusting by using compressed air as per specifications. 2) Cost of Tack coat will be paid for separately under relevant item. 3) Pre-heating of the mineral aggregate and bitumen to the specified temperature, thoroughly mixing with binder of specified bitumen content and filler as per mix design shall be carried out at hot mix plant of specified capacity as per MORT&H Specifications. 4) Waste Plastic (Dry Process) : Cost shall be inclusive of collection of waste plastics, cleaning & shredding, shredding machine and mixing of waste plastics with aggregate in hot mix plant as per specifications and conforming to IRC:SP:98-2013. 5) Carrying the hot premixed materials by means of tipper, trucks or any other approved means to laying site. Laying the hot premixed material over the prepared surface by means of paver finisher including manual operation as and when required for proper grade, level and camber. 6) Supply and evenly spreading of Quarry Dust over the finished layer and cleaning the same, removing small stones before allowing traffic on road.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR GUIDANCE OF TENDERERS
The schedule of quantities is to be read for the purpose of pricing in conjunction with the special conditions, general rules for the guidance of contractors, conditions of contract, specifications, drawings, schedule of supply of materials and the appendices.
The prices inserted in the schedule of quantities shall be inclusive of value of the work described including all cost and expenses, which may be required in and for the construction of the work described together with the general risks, liabilities and obligations not forth or implied in the documents on which the tender is to be based.
The quantities stated are to be considered approximate only and the unit prices entered in the schedule of quantities and prices shall apply only to the actual quantities measured in the completed work in accordance with the specifications.
All the materials other than those shown in schedule of supply of materials in section VII are to be arranged by the contractor and his rates should account for the same.
Rates quoted for all items in this tender shall include cost of all materials including cement and steel. Department will not supply any materials other than materials stipulated in Section - VII of the tender and as such the rates quoted must be all inclusive.
If contractors need any clarification they are required to contact the ‘Head, CTC, CEG, GSO, Kalpakkam – 603 102, Chengalpattu district, Tamilnadu (Ph – 044 - 27481238 and 044-27480500 Extn. 84727, 85803) during office hours.
SECTION VIII - CONDITIONS FOR CEMENT & STEEL
The contractor shall be responsible for supply of cement and procure Ordinary Portland Cement conforming to IS 269-2015 / Portland Pozzolona Cement conforming to IS: 1489-2015 and use it on works. Since the supply of cement by the department has been dispensed, all the clauses relevant to supply of cement by department in this tender document stands cancelled. The contractor shall purchase cement from the approved manufacturers only. The secured advance on cement shall be regulated as per Clause 10-B of conditions of contract. Secured advances on cement up to 90% of assessed price shall be paid to the contractor after indemnifying the Government and through insurance cover. The quantity of cement on which secured advance shall be paid will be restricted to the consignment of cement tested and passed in the test in department laboratory. Prior approval to be obtained from the Engineer for the quantities proposed to be purchased.
The contractor shall procure Ordinary Portland Cement conforming to IS 269-2015 / Portland Pozzolona Cement conforming to IS: 1489-2015 and use it on works. Ordinary Portland Cement, as required in the work, from reputed manufacturers of cement, having a production-capacity of one million tonnes per annum or more, such as A.C.C., L & T, J.P. Rewa, Vikram, Shri Cement, Birla Jute and Cement Corporation of India, etc., as approved by Ministry of Industry, Government of India, and holding license to use ISI certification mark for their product whose name shall be got approved from Engineer-in-charge. Supply of cement shall be taken in 50 Kg. bags bearing manufacturer’s name and ISI marking, samples of cement arranged by the contractor shall be taken by the Engineer-in-charge and got tested in accordance with provisions of relevant BIS codes. In case test results indicate that the cement arranged by contractor does not conform to the relevant BIS codes, the same shall stand rejected and shall be removed from the site by the contractor at his own cost within a week’s time of written order from the Engineer-in-charge to do so.
The cement shall be brought at site in bulk supply of approximately 50 tonnes or as decided by the Engineer-in-charge.
The cement Godown of having a capacity to store minimum of 2000 bags of cement shall be constructed by the contractor at site of work for which no extra payment shall be made from department. Double lock provision shall be made to the door of the cement godown. The keys of one lock shall remain with the Engineer in charge or his authorised representative and the key of the other lock shall remain with the contractor. The contractor shall be responsible for the watch and ward the safety of the cement godown. The contractor shall facilitate the inspection of the cement godown by the Engineer-in-charge at any time.
The contractor shall supply free of charge the cement required for testing. The cost of tests shall be borne by the contractor.
The actual issue and consumption of cement on work shall be regulated and proper accounts maintained as provided in Clause 10 of the contract. The theoretical consumption of cement shall be worked out as per procedure prescribed in Clause 42 of the contract and shall be governed by conditions laid therein.
Cement brought to site and cement remaining unused after completion of work shall not be removed from site without written permission of the Engineer-in-charge.
REINFORCEMENT STEEL
The contractor shall procure only TMT bars of Fe500 Grade conforming to IS – 1786 (Latest edition) produced by the following manufacturers SAIL, RINL, TATA & JINDAL with a test certificate and use it on works after getting approval from department Engineer or tested in department laboratory. Sample shall be tested for all the required parameter as specified in the BIS before bulk purchase. The contractor shall have to obtain and furnish test certificates to the Engineer-in-charge in respect of all supplies of steel brought by him to the site of work. Samples shall also be taken and got tested by the Engineer-in-charge as per the provisions in this regard in relevant BIS codes. In case the test results indicate that the steel arranged by the contractor does not conform to BIS codes, the same shall stand rejected and shall be removed from the site of work by the contractor at his cost within a week’s time from written orders from the Engineer-in-charge to do so.
The steel reinforcement shall be brought to the site in bulk supply of 10 tonnes or more or as decided by the Engineer-in-charge.
The steel reinforcement shall be stored by the contractor at site of work in such a way as to prevent distortion and corrosion and nothing extra shall be paid on this account. Bars of different sizes and lengths shall be stored separately to facilitate easy counting and checking.
For checking nominal mass, tensile strength, bend test, re-bend test etc. specimen of sufficient length shall be cut from each size of the bar at random at frequency not less than that specified below:

The contractor shall supply free of charge the steel required for testing. The cost of tests shall be borne by the contractor.
The theoretical consumption of steel on work shall be worked out as per procedure prescribed in Clause 42 of the contract and shall be governed by conditions laid therein. For the purpose of payment, weight will be calculated on the basis of bar bending schedule and weights of bar given as under. Wherever actual lengths placed differ from bar bending schedule actual length will only be measured.
