Rectification of leakage to 100mm ND,M.S laid rising main at above WSS involves a) Complete draining of water from the pipe. b) Earth work excavation of an average 0.5cum by manual means in trench in ordinary rock for exposing the leakage spot the pipe. c) Cleaning of mud from the surface of the pipe using shims and dhoti cloth so that the cracked portion is clearly exposed. d) Welding of the cracked/damaged portion of the pipe externally as well as internally. e) Welding of flat iron of required size over the cracked portion of the pipe internally f) Testing of the pipe at full flow for leakage g) Backfilling of the excavated earth h) Nuts bolts & washers The above job involves use of good quality electrodes, skilled and unskilled labours, necessary tools and tackles, diesel powered welding machine, gas cutting torch at site. It includes to and fro carriage of the equipments.
