CONSTRUCTION OF RETAINING WALL NEAR UNDERPASS SITE AT PUNE

Earth work in excavation by mechanical means (Hydraulic excavator) over areas for the following strata (exceeding 30 cm in depth, 1.5 m in width as well as 10 sqm on plan) including getting out, dressing/trimming sides and levelling/grading and ramming of bottoms of excavation, as required, complete, as directed by Engineer-in-charge for the following strata :-

Soft / loose soil

Hard/dense soil

Hard rock where blasting is prohibited.

Excavating in trenches, not exceeding 1.5 metre wide and not exceeding 1.5 m in depth; for foundation, etc. or for shafts, wells, cesspits, manholes, pier holes, etc. not exceeding 10 sq m on plan and not execeeding 1.5 metre in depth in hard rock, if blasting of hard rock is prohibited or impracticable owing to special condition of the site, etc., and use of mechanical plant is not possible and therefore chisel cutting of hard rock is ordered by a written order of the GE, which shall include provision of pneumatic concrete breakers, chisels, wedges, etc., for the execution of the work and getting out, complete all as directed.

M&L Plain Cement Concrete type D2 1:4:8 (using 40 mm graded stone aggregates) as in foundations, filling and mass concrete all as shown on drawing and all as specified and directed.

S & F Mild steel TMT bars 10mm dia and over, cut to length, bent to shape required, including cranking, bending spirally for hooping for columns, hooking ends and binding with and including mild steel wire (annealed) not less than 0.9mm dia or securing with clips complete all as shown on drawings and as specified.

M & L Formwork to sides of concrete foundations, footings, bases of columns, raft and raft beams, sides and soffits (if any) of foundation and plinth beams; and similar work; vertical or to batter for fair finsihded surface of concrete all as specified and directed.

M & L Formwork to faces of walls, retaining walls, abutments, parapets and staircase railings and similar work including attached pillasters, buttresses, etc.; vertical or to batter; and similar work; for fair finsihded surface of concrete all as specified and directed.

M&L Reinforced Cement Concrete (Design mix) of grade M-30 (using 20 mm graded stone aggregates) in foundations, including rafts, footings, foundation beams; plinth beams; bases for columns, etc.; basement slabs, under-reamed piles and mass concrete complete all as shown on drawing and all as specified.

M&L Reinforced Cement Concrete (Design mix) of grade M-30 (using 20 mm graded stone aggregates) in Walls, retaining walls, basement walls, ballast walls, counterfort walls and the like; any thickness; above top of raft foundation including attached pilasters and buttresses etc. complete all as shown on drawing and all as specified.

Note for Serial Item No 7 & 8 : RCC design mix concrete shall be Ready Mix (RMC) as specified here-in- after.

S & F Welded steel wire fabric weight exceeding 4 kg per square metre supplied and fixed to wood/steel/concrete members/surfaces or to RCC retaining wall at mouth / inner face of PVC pipe weep holes and shall be of minimum size 450 mm x 450 mm, complete all as shown on drawing and as specified.

S & F PVC (SWR) pipes 110 mm bore, single socketed, in any length and fixed /provided in RCC walls as weep holes, complete all as specified and as directed.

Returning, filling in, including spreading, leveling, watering and well ramming in layers not exc. 25 cm for the following all as specified and directed :-

Soft / loose soil obtained from excavation item above

Hard/dense soil obtained from excavation item above

Hard rock obtained from excavation item above .

M & L suitable soil for back filling (brought from outside MD land) as approved by GE, laid in layers not exceeding 15 cm thick, spread, levelled and rammed including watering as in back filling of retaining wall, all as specified and directed.
