M&L for soil investigation to carry out bore hole of 150mm dia in any type of soil and 100mm dia(NX size) in rock with depth upto 10 mtr. Soil investigation shall be as per IS 1892-1975. Undisturbed soil samples shall be collected at 1.5m interval and at every change of strata. SPT shall be done till 'N' Value of 50 or refusal whichever is earliear. As per IS-1892 (Clause 3.6.5.3), drilling for 3.0m depth inside the rock is essential to ensure bouldars or layers at cemented soil are not mistaken for rock. soil investigation report shall be submitted in 04 No Copies duly signed by qualified engineer with degree M. Tech having experince of Minimum 02 Years. The Name, desigation and qualification at the signatory shall be cleary specify. Soil investigation report shall include following details ;-

(a) Grain size analysis, indetification & classification of soil. (b) Unit weight (bulk density), natural moisture content liquid limit, plastic limit, shrinkage limit, plasticity index, specific gravity, dry density and degree of saturation of soil. (c) Differential free swell index (%) & swelling pressure if expansive soil is encountered. (d) Shear Parameters (C-Phi Analysis). (e) Consolidation test (for cohesive soil only). (f) Cheamical Analysis of soil and ground water (Water to be obtained from bottom of the bore hole). Depth of water table below GL. (g) Presence of loose soil if any, and its depth. (h) If weak soil with lesser N Value as specified in table-1 of IS 1893 (Part -I) 2016 is encountered then evaluation of liquefaction potential shall be assessed and remedial actions to be adopted shall be specified. (j) Crushing strength, degree of weathering (CR Value) and RQD of rock samples. (k) For open foundations calculation of Net SBC at 1.5m, 2.0m, 2.5m, 3.0m from shear as well as settlement criteria SBC VALUE Shall be calculated based on C-Phi analysis as well as SPT Value for calculation formulae given in IS : 6403 Shall be used. (l) Wherever pile foundations are recommended, type of pile, recommeded depth of pile, lenth of socketing, minimum spacing of working piles, and safe load capacity of piles of different diameter etc shall be specified along with supproting calculations piles capacity in compression uplift & lateral loads shall be given. (m) Recommendations regarding type of foundation to be adopted & Net SBC/Pile Capacities to be adopted also recommdations shall be given regarding stability of soil and soil stabilization required if any. (n) Bore hole positions duly marked on plan and their distance from adjacent prominent reference points. This plan shall be signed by GE (I) & Soil Consultant. (o)Bore log details shall be as per APPX 'D' of IS 1892, N values depth wise shall also be shown in bore log details Bore log details shall be signed by GE (I) & Soil Consultant. .

Making of trial pit of size 1.2mX1.2m for collection of sample for conducting California Bearing Ration (CBR) test in Soaked & unsoaked condition of DS Sample at 1/1.5 M depth & submission of report with analysis which includes the determination of Proctor density test, Soil Gradation, Atterberg Limit (L.L. & P.L.) & Determination of free swelling Index etc. Note: i) The rate quoted for above items shall be include necessary arrangement for mobiliazation and demoblization of equipment, tools & plants required for soil investigation, Govt taxes like GST etc ii) Soil Investigation consultant shall have Min 01 No of ME/M Tech (Geo Tech) with 2 years of experience & 01 No of BE/B Tech (Civil) with 5 years of experience and must have all adequate tech staff. iii) Labs must be NABL accredited or any other acredition body which operates accordance with ISO/EC-170011 and accredits the labs as per ISO/MEC 17025 with the state of the art equipment appratus.
