M&L for removal of rubber deposits on runway surface by using the water blasting cum vacuuming system with suitable operating pressure so that the total rubber deposits / materials are removed from both runways (rigid and flexible) surfaces without damaging to the existing surface. Total rubber deposit should be removed and the debris/ water to be vacuumed simultaneously leaving No FOD so that the runway is available for operation immediately . The friction test should be carried out before rubber removal and after rubber removal with application of emulsion all as specified and as directed (The make should have approval of HQ E-in-C's Branch)

Notes : (i) The surface of both concrete / bitumen (rigid/flexible) shall not get any kind of damages during the process of rubber removal nor to any adjoining areas, joint filling etc. Damages made if any, shall be made good by the contractor without any extra cost complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. (ii) Work will be carried out in phased manner as per availability of runway for maintenance. (iii) The machine make to be deployed for runway rubber removal should have E-in-C's approval eg SH8000,SH5000,SK 3000. (iv)Rubber deposite debris should be in solid form when finally disposed (v)In any emergency condition the machine should exit from the runway in less than two minutes without leaving FOD. (vi) Friction Test should be carried out before and after rubber deposite removal operation. (vii)After carrying out rubber removal operation on the runway,friction reading of the rubber removed segment should be minimum 0.55 micron

M & L for cleaning the surface with wire brush, making the surface free from dust and apply cold polymeric bitumen emulsion (PME) mopping of total cold liquid PME (min 1.0 ltrs per sqm (undiluted) for two coats ( interval between two coats 4 to 5 hrs) after dilution with 50% water), each coat diluted in the ratio 1:1 (PME:WATER) and ensure uniform finish to runway complete all as per manufacturer's instructions and all as specified and as directed Make: EULCOTE-PME(LN Petrochem Pvt Ltd) Shellmac microsurfacing (M/s Shell india market Pvt Ltd) or any other approved make by E-in-C's branch Notes :- The tenderer shall take into consideration for the following points while quoting his rate for the item :- (i)No price adjustment shall be applicable if excess quantity of cold polymer bitumen emulsion (PME) is used under this item. (iii) The work shall be carried out through authorised and qualified applicator of the manufacturer only.

M&L for preparation of old black top surface by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc., sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces using air blower to remove all loose dirt etc., complete and apply cold polymer modified emulsion (PME) by using mechanical spraying of total cold liquid PME 1.00 ltr per Sqm (undiluted) for two coats with mineral filler as recommended by manufacturer of PME (after diluting with water), each coat diluted in the ratio 1:1 (PME:WATER) and ensure uniform finish to applied flight strips complete all as per manufacturer instructions and all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Make: EULCOTE-PME(LN Petrochem Pvt Ltd) Shellmac microsurfacing (M/s Shell india market Pvt Ltd) or any other approved make by E-in-C's branch

Notes: The tenderer shall take into consideration for the following points while quoting rate for the item :- (i) Due care shall be taken for friction parameters during application of PME as per ICAQ standard (ii) The work shall be carried out through authorised and qualified applicators of the manufacturer only (iii) Care shall be taken to fill wider gaps/cracks with 0.60 mm to 2.36 mm size coarse sand with mineral filler as per manufacturer's instructions and quoted rate is deemed to be included for repair of gap/cracks (iv) A performance guarantee certificate for two years shall be submitted by the contractor to the GE on completion of work as specified (v)No price adjustment shall be applicable if excess / wastage quantity of bitumen emulsion that mentioned above is used, depending up on the surface to be treated. (vi) Removal of dust/FOD occured during cleaning should be removed as directed.
