TOPOGRAPHY SURVEY AND SOIL INVESTIGATION AT DINGU MATA MANDIR AT SANJAULI, SHIMLA UNDER GE JUTOGH

Digital topographical Survey using Total station covering features, Structures, Pavements, drains, culverts, tension wire, roads kutcha/Pucca, paths, utilities, manholes, boundary wall / fencing with all physical site elements including trees with girth above 15 cm in a survey plan to a 1:1000 scale and furnishing survey in CAD drawings comprising following features:- (i) The grid shall be 3m x 3m. (ii) RL shall be taken at firm point as directed by GE Jutogh. (iii) Land is in hilly terrain , any access passage, if reqd, shall include in the survey cost. (iv) The contours shall be drawn at 0.5m interval. (v) Four colored hard copy in scale 1:1000 shall be submitted alongwith soft copy of CAD survey drawing. (vi) Layout of Proposed building blocks (05 Blocks, Maj to Brig of approx size 35 X15 m and 9 Blocks of OR's of appx Size 28 X12 m), retaining wall with tentative height , approach road (gradient shall be as per hills codal provisions) to be ploted on survey sheet. Note:- 1.The area to be surveyed is in hilly terrain with steep slope. 2. Photographs of site are enclosed at Serial Page Nos. 42 & 43 here-in-after.

Soil Investigation :- To Carry out soil investigation to ascertain SBC and slope stability test of area for providing three/ four storey building , retaining wall and other services at various locations in hilly terrain with steep slopes partially top layer covered with soft soil and disintegrated rock. Soil investigation shall be carried out by preparing suitable platform and access/approach path and shall be done as per provns contained in IS-1892, IS-1904, IS-2131, IS-2720, IS-4898, IS-6403, IS-8009, IS-12070 and relevant IS codes & SP. Depth of bore log shall be 10 m for soft soil or to the refusal of further penetration. Where disintegrated rock is encountered same shall be done to the appropriate level as per codal provn . The testing shall be made at every 2m deep or change of strata whichever occurs earlier. The undisturbed soil samples shall be collected at every changes of strata and as necessary for recommended type of foundation at 1.5m and every 0.5m incremental till firm soil strata is encountered. Drilling shall also be done in case disintegrated rock is encountered to prepare bore log and SBC. Tensile/shear strength and quality index of rocky strata shall be determined . Report shall be furnished as per following details giving complete details as per codal provns for requirement of parameters for design of buildings and structures :- (a) Introduction. (b) Object of site investigation. (c) Scope of work/project details. (d) Field investigations, different field tests. (e) Laboratory investigation/different laboratory tests. (f) Soil profile/Bore log chart/details incl disintegrated rock/ stone (g) Method of computing safe bearing capacity (SBC). (h) SBC from field test like SPT test/SCPT test. (j) SBC from laboratory test like direct shear test (C & Ø value of soil).

(k) SBC from settlement criteria (Settlement calculation shall be given). (l) Any other suggestion, precautionary measures for improvement of SBC. (m) Typical calculations for SBC from shear criteria. (n) Site plan indicating location and field tests and sample collection locations. (o) Bore log details shall indicating soil type, classification, C & Ø values, density soil characteristics, rock type, fissures, swelling pressures/index and different free swell. (p) Laboratory test results in tabular form. (q) Test result on rock core if drilling has been done in rock. (r) Tri-axial & direct shear graphs/consolidated tests graphs. (s) Typical elastic/consolidation settlement calculations. (t) Load Vs settlement graphs. (u) Soil grain analysis graphical representation. (v) Chemical test results in tabular form. (w) Site photographs & videography. (x) Site plan duly marked location of soil investigation. Note:- (i) The site is in hilly terrain with steep slope. The cost for preparing platform for soil investigation and access passage to platform so reqd shall be deemed to be included in quoted rate. (ii) No Plate Load Test reqd being site with steep slope and impractical to carry out Plate Load Test. (iii) GE will decide the location of soil investigation points . (iv) Field and lab tests shall be compiled in final soil investigation report and shall be submitted to GE duly bound in 4 sets. (v) SBC shall be worked out for following size of footing:- (a) Isolated - 1 x 1 m , 1.5 x 1.5 m , 2 x 2 m , 2.5 x 2.5 m , 3 x 3 m, 3.5 x 3.5 m , 4 x 4 m, 5 x 5m (b) Strip footing - 1 m , 1.5 m , 2m , 2.5 m, 3 m , 3.5 m, 4 m , 4.5 m, 5m wide.
