Construction i/c Metalling and Blacktopping of a road from T02- Mawkynrew to Nohron (19.00 Km) (MG/02/III/02/03) Upgradation

Scarifying Existing Bituminous Surface to a Depth of 150 mm by Mechanical Means Scarifying the existing bituminous road surface to a depth of 150 mm and disposal of scarified material with a lift upto 3 m and lead upto 1000 m as per Technical Specification Clause 301.4.

Excavation in ordinary rock using manual means including loading in a truck and carrying of excavated material to embankment site with a lift upto 1.5 m and lead upto 50 m as per Technical Specification Clause 302.3.5.

Compacting original ground supporting subgrade Loosening of the ground upto a level of 300 mm below the subgrade level, watered, graded and compacted in layers to meet requirement of Tables 300.1……etc.

Granular Sub-base Construction of granular sub-base with locally available graded material, spreading in uniform layers with motor grader on prepared surface, watering to OMC and compacting with smooth wheel roller to achieve the desired density, complete as per Technical Specification/ direction of EE. (A) By mixing in place method. (ii) For Grading II Material

Cement Treated Base: Providing, laying and spreading soil on a prepared sub-grade, pulverising, adding the designed quantity of cement to the spread soil, mixing in place with rotavator, grading with the motor grader and compacting with the road roller at OMC to achieve the desired unconfined compressive strength and to form a layer of sub-base/base as per Technical Specification Clause 404.

Prime Coat: (i) Providing and applying primer coat with bitumen emulsion (SS-1) on prepared surface of granular base including cleaning of road surface and spraying primer at the rate of 0.70-1.0 kg/sqm using mechanical means as per Technical Specification Clause 502

Mix Seal Surfacing: Providing, laying and rolling of close-graded premix surfacing material of 20 mm thickness composed of 11.2 mm to 0.9 mm (Type-A) or 13.2 mm to 0.9 mm (Type-B) aggregates using penetration grade bitumen to required line, grade and level to serve as wearing course on a previously prepared base, including mixing in a suitable plant, laying and rolling with a three wheel 8-10 kN static roller and finishing to required level and grades as per Technical Specification Clause 509(I) Bitumen (S-90) Type A

Tack Coat: (i) Providing and applying tack coat with Bitumen emulsion (RS-1) using emulsion distributor at the rate of 0.20 to 0.25 kg per sqm on the prepared bituminous surface cleaned with Hydraulic broom as per Technical Specification Clause 503.

Construction of subgrade and earthen shoulders with approved material obtained from borrow pits with all lifts and leads, transporting to site, spreading, grading to required slope and compacted to meet requirement of Table 300.2 with lead upto 1000m as per Technical Specification Clause 303.1.
