| 1.01 | WOODEN SPORTS FLOORING SYSTEM
Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of International Standard Bio-Cush Free-Floating Resilient Wooden Sports Flooring System made of Premium Grade imported Teak Wood, certified by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and tested/certified as per European Standard EN 14904 for Shock Absorption, Vertical Deformation, Force Reduction, Ball Rebound and Friction characteristics, suitable for international-level indoor sports facilities including Badminton,other indoor sports activities. The flooring system shall comprise of kiln-seasoned and chemically treated teak wood surface boards of minimum 20 mm thickness with four-side tongue and groove joints and bottom ventilation grooves; treated timber under-frame/runners with approved anti-termite, anti-fungal and waterproof preservative treatment; high-density EPDM Bio-Cushion shock absorption pads; moisture protection system including 150–200 micron vapour barrier membrane over properly prepared and levelled IPS/concrete sub-floor; complete concealed fixing arrangement, expansion joints, perimeter skirting, trims and accessories; machine sanding and finishing with high-performance non-slip water-based polyurethane sports coating; accurate international standard sports court markings including Badminton court markings as per BWF specifications, Basketball court markings as per FIBA requirements (including centre line, centre circle, free throw line, three-point line, restricted area, sidelines and baselines), Volleyball and other approved indoor sports markings wherever required; including all materials, labour, tools and plants, transportation, loading/unloading, installation, testing, certification, warranty, cleaning, protection and all incidental works necessary for complete execution and commissioning of the wooden sports flooring system as per manufacturer’s specifications, international standards, approved drawings and directions of the Engineer-in-Charge. The quoted rate shall include minimum 5 years comprehensive warranty for material and workmanship.
Supply, installation & finishing of Bio-Cush free floating resilient wooden sports flooring system made of Premium Grade Teak Wood certified by BWF (Badminton World Federation) and tested and certified as per European Norms (EN 14904) for Shock Absorption, Vertical Deformation and Friction consisting of:
The Surface Board:
Made of kiln-seasoned and treated imported Premium Grade Teak Wood surface boards finished with 20 mm thick × 54 to 92 mm width and in random lengths, with four-side tongue and groove profile and bottom side provided with air-pass grooves.
The Under Frame:
Made of imported Canadian pine wood runners of 65 mm × 38 mm, treated with anti-termite waterproof solution and fixed on the bottom side with 18 mm thick Bio-Cushion shock pads made of EPDM rubber by stapling through the two wings at 300 mm c/c.
The Installation:
The IPS sub-floor shall be covered with a vapour barrier of 6 mil (150/200 micron) thickness to be placed on the levelled IPS sub-floor before laying the under frame. The runners having Bio-Cushion rubber shock pads shall be placed on the vapour barrier in perfect level at 300 mm c/c in one direction. The surface boards shall be screwed to the runners through the tongue only, and the screwed tongue shall be locked by the groove of the adjoining boards. An expansion gap of 12 to 15 mm shall be left between the wooden flooring and the surrounding tiled area/walls and shall be covered with either skirting or T-mouldings.
The Finishing:
After installation, the floor shall be machine sanded using a drum sanding machine and finished with two-component non-skid water-based polyurethane lacquer. Game line marking shall be carried out in approved colours, complete as required.
Anti-Termite & Protective Treatment Condition (Future Scope of Work):
Provision shall be made for future anti-termite, anti-fungal, anti-borer, and waterproof protective treatment of all wooden components, including teak wood flooring boards, timber runners/under-frame, battens, and other wood-based materials, as and when required during the maintenance period. The contractor shall ensure that the flooring system is designed and installed in such a manner that future treatment can be carried out effectively without affecting the structural integrity, performance, or finish of the sports flooring system. The required access, treatment methodology, recommended chemicals, and maintenance procedure shall be provided by the contractor along with completion documents. Any damage caused due to defective material, improper installation, or failure of the provided protective arrangements during the warranty period shall be rectified/repaired/replaced by the contractor at his own cost without any additional payment. No extra payment shall be admissible on any account.
Warranty: The contractor shall provide a minimum 5 years comprehensive warranty covering all materials, workmanship, installation, finishing, fixing arrangements, anti-termite treatment, and all components included in the contractor’s scope of work against any type of defect, fault, damage, deterioration, performance failure, manufacturing defect, installation defect, or any other issue arising during the warranty period. The contractor shall rectify, repair, or replace the defective work/materials at his own cost without any additional financial liability to the Institute. The warranty shall remain valid for the complete flooring system and all associated works executed under this contract. | 4,050 | Sq.Ft. | - | - |
