Supply and packing carefully filter media 600mm in depth free from clay, dirt smooth and round/oval quartizite sand from natural source and machanised graded suitable for water filtration plant for drinking water complete all as directed for the folllowing:-

Removing of unserviceable filter media of any size from work site to the low laying area not exc 100m from filteration plant complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Note: for item No:- 07 to 12 (i) Commissioning and testing of complete filter bed 3x40000 GPH and 2x40000 GPH satisfactory in continous operation and observed defect will be redone by the contractor without any extra cost to the department all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge. (ii) The above work is in replacement/ reuse of serviceable complete filter media of 3x40000 GPH and 02x40000 GPH at Tawi filteration plant. All items required for the same has been catered in the sch 'A' (BOQ). However the contractor will visit the site before quoting and assess the requirment as majorty of items are typical in nature and required as per site conditions. Contractor will supply the items for commissioning and testing both the filteration plant as directed by GE/Engr-in-Charge. Any additional minor items required at site during execution shall be deemed to be included in the rate quoted for respective items of BOQ.

(iii) The work should be first caried out in 3x30000 GPH filter beds after testing and commissioning to the entire satisfaction of Engr-in-Charge and completion of 3x40000 GPH filter beds work, then only contractor will start the work for 2x40000 GPH filter bed and will complete it duly tested and commissioned to the satisfaction of Engr-in-Charge for smooth fuctioning of water supply in this station.

Scraping down with steel iron brush the entire filter walls and bottom surface complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge.
