The seven stages are as detailed below:
(a) First stage: Draining out the water completely using the exit valve or a high-capacity dewatering system.
(b) Second stage: Removing all algae and slime deposited in tank inner wall surface and floor using industrial grade sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) solution (10-12%) of makes : TERBAC-G10/Sumachlor (Diversey)/ Sanichlor(Ecolab)/ or any technocommercial equivalent makes as approved by Engineer-in-Charge including manually scrubbing of tank floor and walls.

| 1.01(d) Fourth stage: Primary bacterial disinfection using chlorite based halogen disinfectant compound of sodium Hypochlorite or Calcium Hypochlorite (65-70% Chlorite) or Sodium dichlorolsocyanurate (NaDCC) Tablets of makes :- TERBAC-G5 /Aquatabs (Nadcc tablets)/ HTN chlorine granules/ or any techno commercial equivalent makes as Approved by Engineer-in-Charge and allowing the cleaned surface to dry for a period as specified by manufacturer (e) Fifth stage: Washing and completely removing chemical applied in fourth stage and cleaning of the tank floor using an industrial vacuum cleaner. (f) Sixth stage:- Second bacteriological screening and sterilization process, carried out using ultraviolet (UV) rays inside the tank to eliminate all suspended bacteria. (g) Seventh Stage :- Final Sterilisation and Oxidation using industrial sterilisation oxidizers made with Hydrogen Peroxide 35-50% / Peroxide disinfectant formulations of makes : TERBAC-G65/ Ecolab Oxonia/ Diversey Oxivir/ or any techno commercial equivalent makes as approved by Engineer-in-Charge. NOTE:- (i) Contractor will submit the Govt Laboratory test certificate of Proprietary chemicals used in the work. (ii) Before commencement of work the PH & TDS value of water at tank inlet and outlet shall be recorded. After completion of tank cleaning as per above seven stage treatment, the PH & TDS values of water at tank inlet and outlet shall be checked and there shall be no major variations in PH and TDS values between inlet source and outlet source of tank water. If any abnormal variation is found treatment shall again be carried out without any extra cost. | ||||||||||||
| 1.02(iii) On completion of cleaning of tank, date of cleaning to be marked/written clearly on tank surface by properly using stencil paper in an accessible location with letters or figure not exc 20cm high viz “TANK CLEANED ON ---” (iv) Before cleaning of tank prior intimation (at least 24 hours before ) shall be given to the occupent. (v)All cleaning and sterilization staff shall be covered under accidental insurance. (vi)The outlet pipe of the OHT shall be plugged before cleaning to avoid the entry of scales. The same shall be reconnected after completion of cleaning. (vii)The quoted rate shall be deemed inclusive of this provision. (viii)The sterilization team shall comprise at least 30% trained personnel, holding a minimum 3-month certification in water tank sterilization. (ix) The rate quoted is deemed to include for making temporary alternative arrangement during cleaning process for provision of water supply by tapping from nearest source. (x) The work shall be carried out by any one following specialist agencies and approval of specialist agency shall be obtained before employing in the work:- (a) M/s Rays cleantech, No. 08, M.B.
