REMOVAL OF RUBBER AND PAINT DEPOSITS AND APPLICATION OF POLYMER MODIFIED EMULSION (PME) ON RUNWAY SURFACE AT AFS PUNE UNDER GE (AF) LOHEGAON

M&L for Removal of Runway marking Paint using high pressure water/ultra high presure water vaccumising all debis/FOD removal in the process complete all as specified and directed by Engineer in Charge.

M&L Removal of Rubber deposits from Bituminous portion of Runway surface using Waterblasting cum vacuuming machine with suitable operating pressure so that the total rubber deposits are removed from runway both (rigid and flexible) surfaces by the method of water blasting cum vacuuming system with suitable water pressure without use of any chemical & without any damage to the existing surface. complete all as specified and directed by Engineer in Charge. NOTES:(i) The work shall be carried out through authorized & qualified applicator (ii) Total rubber deposit should be removed and the debris / water vacuumed simultaneously leaving no FOD so that the Runway is available for operation immediately. (iii) The Machine make to be deployed for Runway Rubber Removal should have E-In-C approval eg SH8000, SH5000, Sk3000. (iv) Rubber deposit debris should be in solid form when finally disposed. (v) In any emergency condition the machine should exit from the runway in less than 2 mins without leaving FOD. (vi) Friction Test should be carried out before & after Rubber deposit removal operation (vii) After carrying out rubber removal operation on the runway, the friction reading of the rubber removed segment should be minimum 0.55 µ. (viii) The surface of both concrete / bitumen (rigid/flexible) shall not get any kind of damages during the process of rubber removal nor to any adjoining areas, joint filling etc. Damages made if any, shall be made good by the contractor without any extra cost. (ix) Work will be carried out in phase manner as per availability of runways for maintenance. (x) Proper agreement should be done with the owner of the machine.

M&L for Applying evenly one coat of solution of Polymer modified emulsion (PME) of approved make & water in a proportion of 1:1 on Bituminous portion of Runway as complete all as specified and directed by Engineer in Charge. Notes: a) Solution of One Ltrs of Polymer modified emulsion (PME) with water in a ratio 1:1 will be applied on the decided place with a maximum coverage area of 0.50 Sqm. b). Application of PME should be done through authorized agency by Mechanical Spraying machine with Spray Nozzle Assembly mounted in 30mm dia carbon Fiber Reinforced Flexible Pipe(CFRP).

Preperation of rubber removed portion of Runway track and applying a coat of water based emulsion primer of approved make and complete all as specified and directed by Engineer in Charge.

Notes: (For items 1 to 4 ) 1) Entire work is to be carriedout at night. 2) Up to 300 Mtr of Runway will be given for single strech of work at night. 3) Machines for Rubber removal and PME shuld be kept at site upto the compleation of the contract.
