MULTIFUNCTIONAL — Specifications of MFA --------------------------- 1. Typical properties of Multifunctional additive (MFA) a. Flash : 35 Deg C (Minimum) b. Relative density : 0.85 to 0.95 c. Solubility in water : Insoluble d. Viscosity at 40 deg C : 10 to 40 cst e. Pour point : Report f. Odour : Mild g. MFA should flow at ambient temperature (i.e. 10 deg C to 45 deg C). Vendor to confirm the same. General Notes: ----------------- 2. Vendor has to submit one litre sample of its MFA along with the quotation. 3. FTIR of the sample given for Tender evaluation and FTIR of each batch that comes to Mumbai Refinery will be carried out at HPCL Mumbai Refinery Laboratory. 4. At any point of time, if it is found that FTIR spectrogram of originally submitted sample does not match with the actual FTIR spectrogram of batch received, vendor has to replace the available quantity at his own cost. 5. The MFA should have shelf life of minimum two years from the date of supply to HPCL Mumbai Refinery. 6. Multifunctional additive (MFA) supplied by the vendor should ensure that MFA has proper credentials from internationally accepted test laboratories/authorities of having passed a minimum of one of the tests in each of the two categories of deposit-control performance as indicated in ANNEX F, IS 2796:2008 Motor Gasoline (forth revision) Amendment 1. Or MFA which is certified against National Generic Certification Option as per US EPA-97 final rule (40 CFR Part 80: Certification standards for deposit control additives) can also be offered by the vendors. 7. For the above, Vendor to recommend a single MFA dosage rate (Vol ppm) in Gasoline product in order to meet the above deposit control performance test. 8.
