SPL REPAIR TO FLEXIBLE PORTION OF THE RUNWAY WITH PME AND ASSOCIATED RUNWAY REPAIR WORK AT AF STN NAL

Demolition of cement concrete of any description and in any position not otherwise specifically provided for and debris removed from site complete all as specified and directed.

Material and labour for cement concrete type D-2, 1:4:8 (40 mm graded crushed stone agg) 100 mm thick as in sub base of flooring all as specified and directed.

Material and labour for cement concrete type B-1, 1:2:4 (20 mm graded crushed stone agg) 100 mm thick as in floor and pavign surfaces all as specified and directed.

Material and labour for the removal of Rubber deposits from runway surfaces using waterblasting cum vaccuming system with suitable operating pressure so that the total Rubber deposits are removed from Runway (both Rigid and Flexible) surfaces without use of any chemical & causing no damage to the existing surfaces complete. The Tenderer shall take into consideration the following points while quoting the rates of this item :- Notes : (i) The work shall be carried out through authorised and qualified applicator. (ii) Total Rubber deposits should be removed and the Debris/Water to be Vaccumed Simultaneously leaving no FOD so that the Runway is available for operation immediately. (iii) The Machine make to be deployed for Runway Rubber Removal should have E-in-C approval eg SH8000, SH5000, Sk3000 of make STRIPE HOG or equivalent. (iv) Rubber Deposit Should be in solid form when finally disposed off outside MOD land. (v) In any emergency condition, the machine (along with workers) should exit from the Runway in less than 3 minutes without leaving FOD. (vi) Friction Test should be carried out before and after Rubber Deposits removal operation and proper record of result duly signed by Engineer-in-Charge shall be maintained. The requisite friction test machine will be arranged by the contractor at his own cost. Nothing extra will be admissible to the contractor on this account.

Material and labour for preparation of flexible pavement surfaces (Runway/Taxi Tracks) by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc. sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces with air compressor to remove all loose dirt etc. and applying uniformly (by using mechanical sprayer) two coats of Polymer Modified Emulsion (PME) @ 1.00 litre per sqm (undiluted quantity of PME 1.00 litre per sqm) mixed with 1 litre of water and mineral filler powder as per manufacturer's instructions and all as specified and directed. Name of Manufacturers:- (i) M/s L N Petro Chem Private Limited. (ii) M/s Hindustan Colas Private Limited. (iii) M/s Ooms Polymer Modified Bitumen Pvt Ltd or any other make approved by E-in-C’s Branch. The Tenderer shall take into consideration the following points while quoting the rates of this item :- Notes :- (a) The work shall be carried out through registered applicators of the manufacturer only. (b) Second coat shall be applied after complete curing of 1st coat as per manufacturer's instructions.

(c) If due to any reason, there is a saving in the consumption of PME (due to any eventually) whilst execution on flexible runway surfaces the balance quantity of PME material will be deposited by the concerned contractor in the B/R storage yard which shall be subsequently utilized by the department durign exigencies. Tenderers should note that nothing extra willbe admissible or payable as credit to the contractor on this account. Tenderers are hereby advised to keep this factor in mind before quoting their rates. (d) Friction test shall be conducted after final coat to ascertain friction value (Range between 0.35 to 0.60). The requisite friction test machine will be arranged by the contractor at his own cost. Nothing extra will be admissible to the contractor on this account. (e) The necessary material and T&P for full proof arrangement for sealing of embedded lights i.e. Runway Centre Line lights and Touchdown Zone lights to prevent seepage of PME in to the lights /defacing of lights will be arranged by the contractor at his own cost .Nothing extra will be admissible to the contractor on this account. (f) Entire raw material to be used should be procured (from manufacturer) & brought to site before execution of work and stored at site as per direction of GE.

Complete removal of old painted surfaces of any description exceeding 10 cm width or girth and applying two coat of Road Marking Paint (Water Based) of tint as approved by GE as in lines, dashes, arrows, letters etc on Flexible pavements/rigid pavements and the like complete all as specified.
