Name of Wok:- Construction of training Helipad at AFS Sulur Description of work:- Soil investigation for Training Helipad. Location :- Site of Training Helipad Mobilisation of Mechanical drilling equipment on site and shifting of entire arrangement from one bore to another bore hole location and setting of boring/drilling rig as required/directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Boring 150mm dia bore hole up to 4 m depth to collect UDS through following type of strata :-
(a) Any type of Soil. (Depth of excavation for helipad = 0.90m + 3m below finished grade= 3.90m say 4.00m) No of bore holes = 05 Nos
(b) Soft Rock. Total Depth 4m
(c) Hard Rock.Total Depth 4m
Collection of undisturbed soil sample at 1.50 m intervals or at any change of strata in 150mm bore thin walled tube including waxing sealing and transporting to lab.
Carrying out standard Penetration Test (SPT) including collection of disturbed Soil samples in bore holes at every 1.50 m depth or any change of strata and submit the report with all requisite data.
Conducting necessary tests as per relevants IS codes-1892 / NBC 2005 / SP 36 on all collected samples which include the determination of :-(a) Loc of water table & Loc of HFL. (b) SPT. (c) SPT Resistance Curve. (d) Soil classification (IS 1498) (e) Grain size analysis (IS 2720 Part 4) (f) Particale size analysis (IS 2720 Part 1) (g) Attberg limits (IS 2720 Part 5) (h) Moisture density Relationship (IS 2720 Part 7 and 8) (i) Swelling pressure test
(j) Natural moisture content (IS 2520 Part 2) and insitu density. (k) Spacific gravity (at lest two UDS from different sampling depth Ser No k to p) (l) Shear strength (IS 2720 Part 30) (m) UCS on at least two undisturbed samples from each bore hole. (n) Free swell index (IS 2720 Part 40) (o) Organic matter (IS 2720 Part 22) (p) Permeability (IS 2720 Part 36) (q) Consolidation test (IS 2720 Part 15)
Conducting of standard test to be performed accordingly to IS 9214-1979 for modulus of sub grade raction to determine the Modulus of soil reaction 'K' for use in the design of rigid pavement of soils as per clause 4.31 Method 1 of IS 9214, analysis of field test. Seating load will be for heavy parameter as per the clause in the IS code and all relevant correction to be applied and K-Value shall be determined by static plate load test using 30 inch (762 mm) dia plate.
Prepare trial pit collect the samples, tansportation, loading/unloading the samples for conducting of standard test for CBR (California Bearing Ratio) of soils in soaked and unsoaked condition as per IS 2720 (Part XXXI) 1990, analysis of field and laboratory test.
Submission of report in four sets giving site plan showing test points, sub soil profile, results of field investigation, laboratory test results, calculation of SBC from SPT test, comprehensive type of foundation
Note : (i) Rate includes all items of work necessary for carrying out complete soil exploration work, collection of sample, testing at laboratory and field test results and submission of reports (Four sets). (ii) Rate includes for submission of detailed calculation of Net SBC at 1.50 / 2.00 / 2.50 / 3.00 depth from shear as well as settlement criteria. SBC shall be calculate based on C-Phi analysis as well as STP value. For calculation formulae given in IS-6403 shall be used. Type of foundation and depth of footing be clearly specified. (iii) In case very weak soil strata is encountered, recommendation about pile foundation i.e Type, Dia, Depth of pile, safe load carrying capacity and socketing of pile into hard rock shall be clearly given in the report. (iv) Safe bearing capacity shall be worked out based on N value, shear failure and settlement criteria. (v) Four sets of report with site plan showing cross reference to each soil investigation bore hole CBR/K value test location. All pages of report will be serially numbered, stamped and signed by every page by consultant.
Note : Above items from Ser No 2 to 14 are to carry out the soil investigation at site of training helipad

Mobilisation of Mechanical drilling equipment on site and shifting of entire arrangement from one bore to another bore hole location and setting of boring/drilling rig as required/directed by Engineer-in-charge.
Boring 150mm dia bore hole up to 5 m depth to collect UDS through following type of strata :-
(a) Any type of Soil. No of bore holes = 01 Nos (Total Depth 8.00 m)
(b) Soft Rock. (c) Hard Rock
Collection of undisturbed soil sample at 1.50 m intervals or at any change of strata in 150mm bore thin walled tube including waxing sealing and transporting to lab.

(d) Grain size analysis Identification & classification of soil. Soil particle size distribution using sieve / Hydrometer analysis. (e) Shear perameter (C-Phi Analysis) Tri-axial shear test C-Phi and determination. (f) Shrinkage limit. (g) Consolidation test & permeability test.
(h) Spepcific gravity test for sand / rock. (j) Crusing strength of rock samples, Find out RQD value and degree of weathering. (CR Value) (k) Permeability test. (l) Chemical analysis of ground water sample (Water to be obtain from bottom of bore hole ) (Min 02 Sample). (m) Differential free Swelling Index (%) & swelling pressure if Expansive soil encounteed. (n) Depth of water table below Ground Level. (o) Presence of loose soil, if any and its depth. (p) If weak soil with lesser N value as specified in Table-1 of IS 1893 (Part-102016 is encounter then evaluation of liquefaction potential shall be assessed and remedial action to be adopted shall be specified. (q) Chemical analysis of soil

Description of work:- Consultancy for topographical survey of proposed helipad area for the design purpose. Location :- Site of Training Helipad (a) The survey to be done with total station survey eqpt.Total Survey area 110m x 70m = 7700 Sqm. (b) The instrument to be shifted after every 30 minute internal/ interval. (c) The total station instrument should have least count of 1" to 2". (d) The BM to be established every 30m so that instrument may be placed in between the BM and the chekcing of level be done from both BM. (e) The survey should start form one point and it should be end at the same point where it had started. (f) The grid for pavement facilites to be of 2m x 2m and the grid for shoulder and remaining airfield to be 10m x 10m. (g) The level should have reference to ARP of the air field area. (h) The proposed level sheet of pavement facilities to be jointly prepared by GE/CWE/CE and consultant. (i) The qty calculation for grade correction, earth work and drains to be submitted along with level sheet of all facility. (j) The survey report to incl contour map, drainage pattern link, taxi, dispersal, shoulder any operational building and blast pens.
