| 1.00Earth work in excavation (from existing ground level/ graded level) for area grading, foundations, plinth beams, trenches, drains, pipe lines, services, inspection chambers etc. in all types of soils including provision and maintenance of stable slopes through suitable means such as shoring, strutting, sheet piling etc. wherever required for ensuring retention/ stability of surrounding strata against cave in due to rains, loads expected during work execution, arragements for preventing surface run-off in excavated pit, prevention of soil slopes erosion, including continous bailing out of surface water and muck for carrying out excavtion activities in a safe manner and stacking the useful/ serviceable excavated soil and disposal of excavated muck/ other materials up to a lead of 2000 m all as per specifications and directions of Engineer. Note: 1. Clearance of area for excavation as well enabling works involving uprooting and removal of shrubs, vegetation, wild grass, trees etc. and its disposal thereof at identified locations within plant boundaries shall be deemed to have been included in quoted rate of the item. 2. | 2.10 | Engineering design, mobilization, installation, commissioning and demobilization of the system after completion of intended purpose of comprehensive dewatering system for excavation, construction, backfilling and other associated works comprising of electrical operated pumps, well points, UPVC pipe lines (peripheral/ intermediate) connecting to well points, pipes up to discharge point locations, valves etc. functionally required for dewatering including installation of multi stage or single stage vacuum well point system, submersible pumps in sumps, setting it to work, discharge of water so collected at temporary water tank near site to NPCIL reservoir (at a distance of max 1KM from OSP and max 1.5 KM from PDSP) and finally to canal (at a distance of 500 mtr max from NPCIL reservoir) per the drawings, specifications & instructions of the Engineer in-charge. The contractor shall maintain separate energy meter/ meters for the dewatering system. Seperate energy metre shall be install for dewatering in different areas.
Any modifications required during implementation stage shall be made by the contractor at site with approval of EIC. Any other miscellaneous resources/ systems such as sheet piling/ shoring etc. required for completing the excavation, backfilling, construction etc. within scheduled time shall be employed by the contractor at no extra cost to NPCIL. Contractor shall also install minimum 5% capacity spare diesel pumps, DG sets as an alternate arrangement to augment 100% capacity operation of the dewatering system in case of power failure cost of which shall be covered under separate item.
Note:
1. The contractor should read the relevant geotechnical information supplied with the tender. He may conduct further necessary tests/ mock up at his own cost to finalise the details of the dewatering system. Minimum value of coefficient of permeability of the site is 1.2 x10-5 m/sec. The cost shall also include provision & maintenance of peripheral pipes up to discharge point locations shown in the drawing.
2. The dewatering system shall be designed to maintain ground water level at least 1 M below the specified excavation/working level as per drawings as directed by Engineer-In-Charge. Provision of suitable numbers of observation wells shall be made for demonstrating the same.
3. Contractor shall demonstrate the efficacy of installed dewatering system along with all items involved to NPCIL. Contractor shall prepare & submit the drawings and operation manual/ guidelines of installed system along with detailed description of items with quantities.
4. Dewatering scheme for excavation, backfilling, concreting works of specified areas shall be devised based on the excavation, ground improvement, CFD drawings as appended with the tender document. Borehole & geoinvestigation data appended with the tender document may be referred for understading the existing ground water table.
5. The quoted rates shall also include cost for monitoring of geotechnical parameters such as ground water table, pore water pressure, settlement, discharge/ quantity of water using digital water metre, cleaning of water tanks etc. during excavation and construction phase as per specifications/SCC.
6. DEWATERING: ENGINEERING DESIGN, MOBILIZATION, ERECTION, COMMISSIONING, OPERATION & MAINTENANCE AND DEMOBILIZATION OF DEWATERING SYSTEM (FOR EXCAVATION, CONSTRUCTION AND ASSOCIATED WORKS COVERED UNDER THE SCOPE OF CONTRACT) FOR LOWERING OF WATER TABLE 1 M BELOW THE WORKING LEVEL
Backfilling
Backfilling/ Embankment filling from stockpiles of available excavated soil within plant site at (at a distance of 2000 mtr max) around sides of structures, foundations, sides of tank walls, trenches, plinth and other excavated area within the scope of work, breaking clods, laying in layers, watering and compacting with a limiting layer thickness of 200 mm compacted to a thickness not more than 150 mm by rolling using 10 tonne vibratory roller as per specification and direction of EIC.
IN-SITU CONCRETE WORKS Design, supply and place pumpable normal density concrete for PCC/ RCC concrete of following grades and placement temperatures for all plant structures at all levels and locations including drainage work, foundations using coarse aggregate of maximum size not exceeding 20 mm, green cutting using coloured surface retarder at construction joints, supplying and mixing mineral admixtures, chemical admixtures conforming to ASTM-C-494 type-G complete as per drawings, specification and as per direction of the Engineer. Note: 1. Rate to include cost for all concrete making ingredients, loading, unloading, stacking, storage etc, of all materials, labour, tools, plants, testing, curing and compaction, F2/ U2 finish as relevant for PCC/ RCC 2. Mineral admixtures viz. fly ash/ microsilica/ GGBS shall be used as per the specifications. 3 Concrete is required to be prequalified by trial mixes for all weather conditions as per technical specification and report to be submitted for approval of NPCIL 4. All concrete making ingredients to be qualified for the source as per technical specifications.
M-15 at temperature not exceeding 38 deg C for PCC of mudmat of foundations, grade slab, plinth beams, roads, culverts, manhole, screed including formation of drains.
M-35 at temperature not exceeding 23 deg C for RCC structures/ buildings.
M-35 at temperature not exceeding 29 deg C for RCC structures/ buildings/ piles.
M-35 at temperature not exceeding 38deg C for RCC structures/ buildings.
FILCRETE: Design, supply and place filcrete of pumpable consistency for backfilling below ground level, with cement, sand and fly ash mix of M 5 grade inclusive of all materials, tools, formwork, plants, testing, pumping to required location etc. complete as per drawings, specifications and direction of the Engineer.
Precast works: Precast works including formwork and handling, transportation & erection of precast members all complete as per drawing, specifications and direction of Engineer Note: Reinforcement & lifting hooks/ EPs shall be measured and paid in the relevant item.
Precast concrete covers with/ without slots of M-35 grade concrete using max. aggregate size of 20/ 10 mm including sealing of gaps with cement mortar 1:3. Note: Rate shall include the cost of sealing of gaps with cement mortar 1:3.
Plum/ mass concrete: Supply and place plum/ mass concrete with mix 1:5:10 batched by volume with maximum aggregate size of 20 mm at a temperature not exceeding 38 deg. C for filling below grade level, on the foundation of operation storage pond after laying plums upto 150 mm size rubbles or boulders and percentage of plums upto 30% by volume of concrete mix, inclusive of all materials, tools, plants, curing and compaction etc. all complete as per drawings, specifications (PCM-000025) and direction of the Engineer. Note: 1. 50% of cement required for filling concrete can be replaced by fly ash in case of OPC. 2. The spacing between plums and from the surface of the finished work shall not be in general closer than 150 mm
Form Work: Design, supply, place including forming groove wherever required for construction joints and remove formwork at all levels, unless specified in the item, inclusive of required scaffolding/ staging, materials, labour, tools and plants, safety nets, platforms, access, railings etc. all complete as per drawings, specification & as directed by the Engineer.
Foundations, footings bases of columns and inverted beams on foundation etc.
Walls straight or curved, columns, buttresses, pedestal, tunnels and trenches at all heights, depths and inclinations.
Suspended floors (horizontal or sloping/ inclined), beams and sides of slabs/ beams etc. The height of staging will be considered from floor top to bottom most point of the slab. Staging height up to 6.0 m.

Reinforcement: Supplying and placing in position thermo mechanically treated (TMT) bars of grade Fe-500 conforming to NPCIL specifications for all reinforced concrete works at all levels and elevations including storing, cleaning, cutting, bending, fixing, tying with 1.6 mm dia soft annealed binding wire all complete including cost of transporting, decoiling and straightening of bars and cost of binding wire, cover blocks etc. testing as per IS code and etching test to conform TMT etc. all complete as per drawings, specifications and as directed by the Engineer. Note: 1. Chairs, spacers, supports and approved laps which are embedded in the concrete shall be measured and paid under this item. Reinforcement steel used for formwork and its supports shall not be paid. 2. Bidder may take a note of the additional requirement with respect to percentage elongation and ratio of UTS to yield stress over and above requirement stipulated in IS 1786. 3. The steel shall be procured from main manufacturers, who manufacture the rebars using billet produced from ore itself and not by remoulding of used steel.

Providing, supplying and fixing parallel threaded couplers & splicing reinforcement bars including cold forging and threading of ends of the bars, integrated load testing, connecting the bars with couplers in the field etc. including hire charges of equipments, labour, testing (including materials, joints) etc. complete as per detailed specifications and direction of Engineer. Note: Payment for higher diameter coupler shall be considered while joining bars of unequal diameters.

EMBEDDED PARTS FABRICATION AND ERECTION: Supply, fabrication & erection of embedded parts made form material conforming to IS:2062 Grade A or B, IS:1239, IS:3589 including all testing as per NPCIL specifications PC-E-160, for all types of EPs like Anchor bolts, internal threaded EPs, Pipe & duct penetration EPs, plates, hatch frame, edge angle, floor drain EPs, EPs like Cable channels to be embedded in concrete etc of all sizes including cost of applying one coat of primer, transportation and erection of embedded parts at site, all complete as per drawings, specifications, and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Notes: 1. Jigs & Fixtures buried in concrete shall be paid in the relevant item. 2. Measurement shall be for the weight of entire EP, including plates, lugs, etc. 3. Temporary bracings and supports will not be measured and paid.
S.S. EMBEDDED PARTS FABRICATION & ERECTION AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS WORKS: Supply, fabrication, and erection of embedded parts made out of stainless steel material confirming to ASTM A-240 type 304/ 304 L for plates and ASTM A-312 type 304/ 304 L for pipes, including all testing as per NPCIL specifications, providing jigs and fixtures in concrete for supporting of embedded parts, all complete as per drawings, specifications, and as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Notes: 1. Jigs & Fixtures buried in concrete shall be paid in the relevant item. 2. Measurement shall be for the weight of entire EP, including plates, lugs, etc. 3. Temporary bracings and supports shall not be paid.
Providing and fixing jigs and fixtures buried in concrete for supporting of all types of embedded parts. All retrievable fixtures/ bracings will not be paid separately.
Structural steel: Supply of material including its testing, fabrication and erection of structural steel items (rolled/ built up sections) including welding or bolting connections with bolts as required including testing on welds complete as per drawing, specification and as directed by the Engineer. Material conforming to IS:2062 Grade A or B, IS:1239, IS:3589 etc. Note: All Bolts, nuts, screws and washers, which are permanently incorporated in the structure, will not be paid.

Paint on Structural Steel: Applying priming coat
Supply and application of one coat of approved zinc silicate primer (75micron thick) on steel surfaces as per drawings & specifications including surface preparation of steel surfaces after fabrication prior to application of primer.
Supply and application of approved make and shade premium quality mat/ glossy (as directed) finish synthetic enamel paint minimum 2 coats to give an even shade at all elevations including surface preparation and touch up with zinc phosphate primer wherever required, providing and removing scaffolding, all as per manufaturer's specifications, drawings and direction of the Engineer. NOTE: 1. The rate shall be inclusive of surface preparation with wire brushing and touch up with zinc phosphate primer wherever required.
PLANT DRAIN: Providing, laying or fixing in position underground HDPE pipes for equipment (plant) drains works, conforming to IS:4984, grade PE 100, pressure rating PN 6, including jointing of pipe to pipe or pipe to long neck pipe ends by electric heating mirror at site, joints to be flanged joints, laying and jointing conforrming to IS : 7634 (Part-2), cutting and trimming of pipes, preparation of bends as per requirement at site, preparation of bed for laying the pipes etc. all complete as per specification.
