MASTIC FLOORING WORK IN LPG CYLINDER STORAGE GODOWN AS PER IS:1195,1196 Bitumen mastic flooring is provided in LPG cylinder storage godown to ensure a smooth, durable, non-sparking and safe surface for storage and handling of LPG cylinders. The work shall be carried out using approved materials and standard procedures

Terminology Asphalt/Bitumen: IS 702:1988/2022 specifies the requirements for industrial grade bitumen (such as 85/25 or 90/15) used in mastic flooring. Fillers and Aggregates Limestone or Marble Powder: • Naturally occurring consolidated stratified calcareous rock or marble powder, clean and free from impurities. • Aggregate/Bajri (Fine Aggregate): • Naturally occurring stone or rock ground to required grading and free from dust or foreign matter. Coarse Aggregate/Marble Granules: Consisting of clean igneous or calcareous rock or siliceous material obtained from natural deposits by screening, crushing or mechanical process and as free from dust as practicable

Preparation and Laying of Bitumen Mastic The aggregates, coarse aggregates and other fillers shall be thoroughly incorporated manually at high temperature with the requisite proportion of hot bitumen of approved grade. The materials shall be heated and mixed until a homogeneous and properly cooked mastic is obtained. The prepared hot mastic shall then be transported carefully and spread over the prepared surface of the LPG godown floor to the specified thickness using suitable wooden hand tools. The surface shall be properly leveled and finished with heavy wooden floats to obtain a smooth and even finish

After completing the entire flooring surface, the joints separating each bay shall be sealed with melted bitumen. Limestone or marble powder shall then be uniformly sprinkled over the finished surface, which will be absorbed into the mastic in due course of time and provide a proper finish. The newly laid mastic floor shall be allowed to cool naturally. The floor shall not be used or subjected to traffic until it is thoroughly cooled and hardened to ensure proper setting and durability. This mastic flooring provides a strong, smooth and safe surface suitable for LPG cylinder storage godown operations

Supplying and fixing fixed Brass wire gauge of 14 mesh x 24 gauge to the metal frame of rolled section by metal beading 20x3 mm with suitable screw at not exceeding 150mm distance. Double layer (1.00 X.28)

Providing & fixing precast cement concrete coping 1 : 2 : 4 mix 50mm thick complete as per specification:

Filling available excavated earth (excluding rock) in trenches, plinth side of foundation etc. in layers not exceeding 20 cm. in depth, consolidating each deposited layer by ramming and watering including lead up to For 5 Km. and with all lift.

Construction of granular sub-base by providing well graded material, spreading in uniform layers with Tractor Mount Grader on prepared surface, mixing by mix in place method with rotavator at OMC, and compacting with smooth wheel roller to achieve the desired density, complete as per Technical Specification Clause 401. for Grading III Material

Providing, laying, spreading and compacting stone aggregates of specific sizes to water bound macadam specification including spreading in uniform thickness, hand packing, rolling with smooth wheel roller 80-100 kN in stages to proper grade and camber, applying and brooming, stone screening & binding materials to fill-up the interstices of coarse aggregate, watering and compacting to the required density grading 1 as per MoRTH Specification Clause 404.
