Preparing existing black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc., sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces with compressed air to remove all loose dirt etc., and applying evenly a tack coat on existing black top surfaces with cationic bitumen emulsion RS-1 grade conforming to IS:8887 @ 2.5 Kg per Ten Square Metre and including Bituminous premix asphaltic semi dense concrete 40mm consolidated thickness with 5.5% paving bitumen using bitumen VG-30 paving grade ( 50 -70 penetration) binder content by weight of total mix laid using mechanical paver finished rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient, complete, all as specified and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Liquid seal coat laid using mechanical paver finished, applying evenly binder bitumen VG-30 @ 9.8 kg per 10 sqm blinding with 6 mm and below size stone chippings @ 0.09 cum per 10 sqm and rolled to a uniform smooth surface complete, all as specified and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Applying evenly a tack coat on existing black top surfaces with cationic bitumen emulsion RS-1 grade conforming to IS:8887 @ 2.5 Kg per Ten Square Metre complete, all as specified and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Premix bituminous macadam with 4% paving using bitumen VG-30 paving grade ( 50 -70 penetration) bitumen binder, roller laid using mechanical paver finished and compacted to required gradient and camber (consolidated thickness upto maximum 75mm), complete, all as specified and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Note: Existing surface levels shall be taken before laying of macadam at the interval of 3 meters and same shall be plotted in graph sheet duly marked with surrounding structures with ref to the permanent bench mark/ intermediate benchmarks, Prominently marked on the level sheet signed by Contractor, JE, Engineer-in- Charge and GE. Finish level shall also be jointly taken in similar way and plotted in graph sheet for computation of quantities of macadam duly marked in level sheet and signed by all concerned. Contractor shall make all arrangement in this regard

Preparation of any type of road surfaces by scratching old spots, paints, trading oils greasy spots etc. and applying reflective Thermo Plastic road marking paint 2.00 mm thick as side, side lines, dashes, arrows, letters, stop lines etc of white/yellow approved colour of width 100mm and more as directed conforming to Ministry of surface Transaport (MORTH) specification for the road and bridge work : 4th revision, over primer as per manufacturers instructions including glass beads (intermix) type I (most/BS6008A) and provision contained in IRC-35-1997, complete all as specified and directed by GE/Engr-in-Charge. Note : Contractor shall have to furnish the detail that quantity minimum used per square meter is 5.00 Kg/Sqm. Make: ASIAN (PRIMER APCOGRIP AND RETRO REFLECTIVE THERMOPLASTIC ROAD MARKING MATERIAL APCO MARK) or equivalent in performance of makes as specified in particular specifications.

Cutting out cracks to U - section of minimum 12mm wide and 25mm deep in existing bitumen surface cleaning out and filling solidly with a hot mixture of bitumen VG-30 and clean dry sand 1: 1 (by weight), complete, all as specified and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

80mm thick granolithic concrete 1:1: 2 floor topping laid in panels of requisite sizes over cement concrete subfloors etc. and finished to an even and fair surface including roughing of old concrete floor surfaces by picking, sweeping clan & washing down with water to remove dust, complete all as specified and directed by Engr - in - Charge.

20mm thick wearproof topping as specified (incorporating an approved metallic floor hardener), laid on concrete floors and pavings, and finished even and smooth (mixed with metallic hardener), complete all as specified and as directed NOTE: - (Metallic floor hardener shall be measurement & paid supply only separately under respective item)

Glass dividing strips, 5 mm thick and 45mm wide inserted in position as per approved design, complete all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

Forming Construction/ contraction joint 20mm deep x 10mm wide using aluminium U channel andfilled with sealing compound Polysulphide sealant complete all as specified and directed.

Supply only approved metallic floor hardener all as specified.

Note for item No. 1 & 4 : (a) Preparation of mix in hot mix plant, spreading by self propelling mechanical paver and rolling and compaction by set of rollers as specified here-in-after shall be carried out. Hot mix plant may be installed at any distance but the contractor shall be responsible for maintaining the required temperature of mix under all conditions till it is laid and compacted. Unit rate against these items shall include for carrying out the works with deployment of these machinery for which nothing extra shall be payable and no delay in completion of work shall be acceptable on this account. (b) To achieve marshal stability of 9.0 KN ( as per MORTH 5th revision) and all as per SSR Part-I Clause No. 20.B.4. (c) If qty of binder contents is less than the qty as specified in respective items of BOQ, it shall be adjusted at supply only rates of paving bitumen @ Rs 44.00 Per Kg and if qty of binder contents is more than the qty as specified in respective items of BOQ no adjustment shall be made.

(d) Test Track : A sample test track of each layer of minimum 5.50m wide and 30m in length will be prepared by the contractor before commencement of actual works at location as decided by GE. The Core Cut from test track on testing shall give a stability of not less than 98% of design stability, and requisite bitumen content etc. In case of any deficiency, necessary adjustment in grading shall be made. No extra payment shall be made on account of making test track or changes in grading etc. (e) Laying of bituminous concrete work shall be laid by a mechanical paver spreader finisher. (f) Rolling : (i) After the mix being spread, rolling shall commence longitudinally from edge and proceed towards the contre parallel to the centre line. The rolling shall be carried out in the following two consecutive stages :- (aa) Break down Rolling (ab) Finishing Rolling (ii) The initial break down rolling shall be done with 8 to 10 tonne tandem vibratory roller. Finish rolling shall be done by 8 to 10 tonne steel wheel roller. (g) The final surface of test track so arrived shall be got approved by the Accepting Officer. However the further work shall be got executed accordingly.
