Providing, laying, spreading and compacting graded stone aggregate (size range 53 mm to 0.075mm) to wet mix macadam(WMM) specification including premixing the material with water at OMC in mechanical mix plant, carriage of mixed material by mechanical transport to site, for all leads & lifts, laying in uniform layers with mechanical paver finisher in sub-base/ base course on well prepared surface and compacting with vibratory roller of 8 to 10 tonne capacity to achieve the desired density, complete as per specifications and directions of Engineer-in-charge.
Providing and laying dry lean cement concrete with coarse and fine aggregate conforming to IS:383, the size of coarse aggregate not exceeding 26.5 mm, aggregate cement ratio not exceed 15:1, aggregate gradation after blending to be as per specification, cement content not to be less than 150 kg/cum, optimum moisture content to be determined during trial length construction, concrete strength not to be less than 10 MPa at 7 days, mixed in a batching plant as per mix design, transported to site, laid with a paver with electronic sensor, compacting with 8-10 tonne vibratory roller, finishing and curing etc. complete as per specification and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge
Providing and laying Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) produced in a batching and mixing plant having a Characteristic flexural strength i.e. flexural strength of 4.1MPa at 28 days using Ordinary Portland cement of 43/53 grade or Portland Pozzolana Cement or Portland Slag cement conforming as per relevant IS codes, to be mixed at site, with 0.5% Super plasticizer by mass of cementitious material, fine aggregate,graded stone aggregates of 40 mm nominal size in appropriate proportion as per specification and job mix formula, laid in panels as per drawings/design as approved by the Engineer-In-Charge using Slip Form Paver or Fixed form paver including anti friction layer, joint filler board, making necessary provision for expansion, dummy and construction joint including filling with Polysulphide sealant of approved make, curing and making profile, complete as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge and specifications.The item for execution shall include all operations making pavement for intended use but not limited to following:(i) Polyethylene sheet (White in color) of thickness 400 micron conforming to IS: 2508 with 6mm thick fine sand layer. (ii) Providing and laying in position for expansion joint, 25mm thick pre-cut Synthetic joint filler board of approved make conforming to IS:1838(part 3)-2011, 45 mm from top (to be removed at the time of filling of Polysulphide sealant). (iii) Mechanically cutting dummy joints 3mm wide x 1/3rd thickness of slab which is subsequently widened to 10mm for the top 25mm depth and construction joints 10mm wide x 25mm deep as per specification.
(iv) Providing and laying in position Polysulphide sealant of approved make conforming to BS-5212-1990 or IS: 11433-1995 in expansion/ construction / dummy joints including rounding off edges, applying 2 coats of approved primer compatible with the brand of Polysulphide and preparing the surface and applying masking tape along the edge of joint to prevent accidental spillage of sealant on top surface and to give neat finish to the sealant and removing the masking tape after application of sealant etc. as per the details below: (a) Expansion Joints of size 25 mm wide and 10 mm deep over 30mm dia expanded closed-cell Polyethylene foam back-up/backer rod of minimum density 22 Kg/Cum, as per manufacturer’s specifications and sketch at Appendix-‘A’. (b) Construction Joints of size 10 mm wide and 10 mm deep over 12mm dia expanded closed-cell Polyethylene foam back-up/backer rod of minimum density 22 Kg/Cum, as per manufacturer’s specifications and sketch at Appendix-‘A’. (c) Dummy Joints of size 10 mm wide and 10 mm deep over 12 mm dia expanded closed-cell Polyethylene foam back-up/backer rod of minimum density 22 Kg/Cum, as per manufacturer’s specifications and sketch at Appendix-‘A’. (v) Making profile as per DGCA CAR, panel drawing showing dummy, construction, expansion joints location.
Providing, laying and fixing of self adhesive glass fibre reinforcement grid of High Modulus Fibre Glass of mesh size not exceeding 12.5mm x 12.5mm. The self adhesive glass fibre reinforcement after laying over the Runway Pavement shall be pressed down fully with a rubber tired roller and glued to pavement surface. The grid being self adhesive does not require tack coat. The longitudinal overleap should not be less than 250mm and transverse overleap i.e. at the end of the roll should not be less than 150mm. The items should be completed in all respect, to the satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge
Providing and applying priming coat with bitumen emulsion SS1 grade conforming to IS:8887 on prepared surface of granular Base including clearing of surface and spraying primer at the rate of 0.7kg/sqm using mechanical means complete in all respects as per direction of Engineer-in-charge. The contractor shall quote his rates assuming quantity of bitumen emulsion as 0.70kg/sqm. If the actual quantity of bitumen emulsion varies from the quantity assumed above , necesaary cost adjustment for deviation in the quantity of bitumen emulsion shall be done as per rate in actual supply voucher from nearest refinery at the time of execution. The rate of bitumen emulsion exclusive of GST shall only be considered for payment.
Providing and applying tack coat using hot straight run bitumen of Viscosity grade VG-10 (80/100) conforming IS:73 including heating the bitumen, spraying the bitumen with mechanically operated spray unit fitted on bitumen boiler, cleaning and preparing the existing Runway/Road surface as per specification complete in all respects as per direction of Engineer-in-charge If the actual quantity of bitumen varies from the quantity assumed above , necesaary cost adjustment for deviation in the quantity of bitumen shall be done as per rate in actual supply voucher from nearest refinery at the time of execution. The rate of VG-10 bitumen exclusive of GST shall only be considered for payment. a) 0.35 kg/Sqm on existing bituminous surface.
Providing and laying of Hot Mix Dense Bituminous Macadam(DBM) using crushed stone aggregate of quality, size and grading as specified and cement filler of quality as specified and Viscosity Grade Bitumen (supplied in bulk) in proportions as per job mix formula and laid to specified levels, grade and camber as per specification, drawings and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge including compacting with 8-10 tonne, preferably vibratory road roller of adequate capacity to achieve the specified values of compaction, strength, surface accuracy complete [for tendering purpose VG bitumen of grade VG-30 shall be taken as 110 kg/m3 of mix supplied in bulk produced by Govt. Refineries and 2% cement by weight of aggregates as filler material].
Providing and laying of Hot Mix Semi Dense Asphaltic Concrete(SDAC) using crushed stone aggregate of quality, size and grading as specified and cement as filler of quality as specified and Viscosity Grade Bitumen (supplied in bulk) in proportions as per job mix formula and laid to specified levels, grade and camber as per specification, drawings and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge including compacting with 8-10 tonne, preferably vibratory road roller of adequate capacity to achieve the specified values compaction, strength, surface accuracy complete [for tendering purpose VG bitumen of grade VG-30 content shall be taken as 120 kg/m3 of mix supplied in bulk produced by Govt. Refineries and 2% cement by weight of aggregates as filler material].
Providing and laying of Hot Mix Dense Asphaltic Concrete (DAC) using crushed stone aggregate of quality, size and grading specified and cement as filler of quality as specified and Viscosity Grade Bitumen (supplied in bulk) in proportions as per job mix formula and laid to specified levels, grade and camber as per specification, drawings and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge including compacting with 8-10 tonne, preferably vibratory road roller of adequate capacity to achieve the specified values of compaction, strength, surface accuracy complete [for tendering purpose VG bitumen of grade VG-30 content shall be taken as 135 kg/m3 of mix supplied in bulk produced by Govt. Refineries and 2% cement by weight of aggregates as filler material].
Painting runway / Taxi Track / Apron marking with adequate no. of coats to give uniform finish with road marking paint of superior make as approved by the Engineer-in-Charge including cleaning the surface of all dirt, scales, oil grease and other foreign material etc., and lining out complete. a) New work (Two or more coats)
Providing and erecting 2.75 metre high temporary barricading at site as per drawing/ direction of Engineer-in-Charge which includes writing and painting, arrangement for traffic diversion such as traffic signals during construction at site as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. The barricading provided shall be retained in position at site continuously i/c shifting of barricading from one location to another location as many times as required during the execution of the entire work till its completion. Rate include its maintenance for damages, painting, all incidentals, labour materials, equipments and works required to execute the job. The barricading shall not be removed without prior approval of Engineer-in- Charge.(Item consist of Structural steel, along with G.I Sheet .5 mm thick).Structural steel work riveted, bolted or welded in built up sections, trusses and framed work, including cutting, hoisting, fixing in position and applying a priming coat of approved steel primer all complete.Providing and fixing Concertina coil fencing with required dia 610 mm above the barricading as per the direction of Engineer in-charge. (Note :- One time payment shall be made for providing barricading from start of work till completion of work i/c shifting. The barricading provided shall remain to be the property of the contractor on completion of the work).
Construction of embankment with approved materials deposited at site (available withan AAI Chennai Airport premises) from cutting and excavation including excavation in all kinds of soils with hydraulic excavator i/c cutting and loading in tippers trimming bottom and side slopes in accordance with requirements of lines, grades and cross sections and transporting to the embankment location within all lifts and lead within airport premises and spreading, grading to required slope and compacted to achieve the desired compactions in embankment and excavation area as specilied in technical specifications (based on MORTH) etc. complete in all respecls and as direcled by Engineer- in-charge.(Note Payment shall only be made for excavated earth).
Suppling and filling Quarry Dust in trenches, side of foundation / wallls etc. in layers not eceeding 20 cm in depth, consolidating each deposited layer by ramming and watering etc. as per direction of Engineer- Incharge.
Steel work welded in built up sections/ framed work, including cutting,hoisting, fixing in position and applying a priming coat of approved steel primer using structural steel etc. as required.
Painting with black anti-corrosive bitumastic paint of approved brand and manufacture to give an even shade : Two or more coats on new work

Credit to AAI for taking away and disposal of excavated earth/ dismantled material like cement concrete(richer mixes)/reinforced cement concrete/ stone rubble masonry/ flexible pavement(bituminous courses)/ stone boulders / debris from operational area beyond AAI premises by mechanical means including loading, unloading, transportation, royalty or any other state / central government charges. (The rate / amount quotated will be deducted from the bills payable to the agency and quantity measurement shall be based on levels at the location of excavation )
