Supply of Brick shall be of approved quality of standard specifications, made of good brick earth, uniform deep red, cherry or copper colour, throughly burnt in kiln witout being vitrified, regular in shape and size, sound, hard, homogeneous in texture, true to shape and of standard dimension and shall be free from cracks, chips, flaws, stones of humps of any kind and shall not show appreciable signs of efflorescence either dry or subsquent to soaking in water. Brick shall be measure 230x115x75mm a tolerance upto ± 6mm in length ± 3mm width and ± 2mm in thickness shall be permitted. A frog 6mm deep shall be provided on the upper face. The Bricks shall emit a clear ringing sound on being struck and have minimum crushing strength of 150 kg/sqcm. All the bricks which absorb water more than 20% of their own dry weight after 24 hours immersion in cold water shall be rejected.

Supply of Pozonolla portland cement as per ISI code 1489-2015 (Prism/Birla/ACC/JYPEE) every bag shall be deemed to contain 50 kg of cement. The suppliers may liable to submit test report.

Supply of Coarse Sand shall be clean sharp and free from clay, laom, organic or any other foreign matter, shall be obtained from approved source. The Supplier shall get the sample of coarse sand approved by the Engineer-in-Charge. Sand which in the opinoin of the Engineer-in-charge of his or his representative. If dirty must be washed to his satisfication at the cost and expenses of the supplier coarse sand shall pass through a mesh 4.75mm squar measured in the clear. Sand shall not be used for concrete works if it contains more than 10% of fine grains passing thorugh a 76 mesh sieve should the fineness modules be less than 2.25 unless specific permission is obtained from the Engineer-in-charge.

Supply of 20mm guage approved stone grit from Stone chips of stone ballast for cement concrete (plain of reinforced) shall be hard of uniform and fine texture free from faults or planes of weakness and free from weathered faces. The ballast or chips must be free from loam, clay or any surface coating, free from organic matter or other impurities and screened free of dust. Stone of black and hard variety as is generally available from quarries in KABRAI area will be normally used. Stone agregates from other source may also be used provided the same is found suitable in the opinion of the Engineer-in-Chagre. The opinion of Engineer-in-Charge must be recorded in writing. The ballast or chips shall be obtained by breaking from lagre blocks and must be more or less cubical in shapes stone grit grading shall be in conformity with the requirments laid down in the indian standard specification.
