| 2.01(a) The Hangar door should have dual of mode of operation:- (i) Motor/Electronic mode with bi-directional confriguration (ii) Manual overide Mode. Suitable motor power operation, each drive door leaf shall be fitted with its own drive unit. 3-Phase Electric Motor of suitable rating shall drive each drive leaf depending on site requirement with IEC classification IP55 or above & minimum thermal protection of 155(F). The drive transmission between the motor and the drive wheel shall be through a chain-sprocket assembly. Drive units should comprise a squirrel cage motor with integral magnetic brake and a high efficiency helical-bevel or helical-worm reducing gearbox, driving the bottom wheels through a roller chain.motor drive system must be of european make Each drive unit shall be fully enclosed in a removable casing (Trap Door) which is easily accessible from the inside of the hangar via hinged or removable access covers. Drive unit access covers shall be interlocked so that the leaf cannot be driven under power unless all are closed.Power is to be transmitted to each drive door leaf by means of an enclosed duct type overhead conductor system(Bus bar system). Each drive leaf shall draw a pick-up trolley through the conductor system(Bus bar system). | 2.02(b) Hanger door frame structure including tracks/Rails, Top tracks, will be designed with structural steel with suitable UB/ISMB/ISMC,RHS and CHS members conforming to relevant IS Code and design as per IS-800-2007 with standard worst combination of different type of load as per IS code applicable. Deflections of principle members within each door leaf structure are not to exceed L/140 or 100 mm, whichever yields the lowest deflection.The design shall inculded the supports of suitable steel members for the top tracks/rails.The track and top roller assembly of sliding door are coordinated such that the roller can also support itself whilst moving along the track and top tracks are able to accommodate live load deflections or deviations in the top tracks of up to L/360. (where “L” is the minimum roof span dimensions). The enitre external face(door cladding) of the door is covered with 0.5mm precoated corrugated galvalume sheet with standard finish shall be off white similar to RAL 9002 / Light Blue similar to RAL 5012.Prefabricated door at Site connections to be bolted only using minimum Grade 8.8 bolts, zinc plated and de-embrittled. Door leaves and tracks to be designed to withstand local wind pressures which are calculated in accordance with IS 875 Part 3 & designed to withstand local windspeed Upto 180 kmph. | ||||||||
| 2.03(c) Design of hangar door should be approved and vetted by IIT/NIT before starting of the work. (d) GA/Structural dwg of door hanger door, top tracks and bottom rails including RCC/PCC section below the bottom rails to be submitted before starting of the work. (e) Operation and maintenance training to be given by the executing agency and shall provide 3 copies of “Operation and Maintenance Manual”, written in English language (f) A pass door / wicket door shall be provided of approximate size 1000mm x 2100mm to enable personal access. Personal door shall be provided with safety sensor system to prevent Hangar Door leaf operation when personal door is open. The door cladding shall be of same as the the door-leaf cladding. | ||||||||
| 2.04(g) The top track section itself shall be a suitable UB / ISMB Section as per design requirement which is hot-formed steel in accordance with EN 10025: 2004 or equivalent. The top track section shall be designed to accommodate all loads imposed upon it. Furthermore, local buckling of the section due to maximum roller loads on the walls of the section shall not be permitted. Each panel supported at top with suitable diameter. top roller assembly & will have suitable Nos of top rollers. The track and top roller assembly are coordinated such that the roller can also support itself while moving along the track (against its own dead weight and wind loads). Roller shall be inherently corrosion resistant (i.e. Zinc plated Mild steel) and mounted on low friction/sealed bearings which will require no regular lubrication. The top track system shall be designed to limit the inclination of the door leaves due to: discontinuity of bottom rail; high friction of bottom rail; blockage of bottom rail | ||||||||
| 2.05(h) All MS structural members of the sliding door undergo sand blasting process (SA 2 1/2 Level) and then are applied with a 4-stage C5M coating process. Zinc rich Epoxy primer coat 50 microns Epoxy MIO intermediate 100 microns Epoxy HB coating 100 microns Polyurethane Finish HB 100 microns total coating thickness of approx. 350 microns has to be applied after in house sand blasting treatment paint has to be an atmospheric corrosivity category of C5M in accordance to ISO 12944. The testing and inspection of the paint is in accordance to EN ISO 12944-7. The durability of C5M against corrosion has to be more than 15 years. (i) weather sealing system for the sliding doors must be designed in conjunction with the cladding system to minimize sand ingress in particular, all vertical joints between leaves on adjacent tracks and the two end jambs are fitted with twin tapered EPDM wiper seals set in aluminum extrusions. At the bottom, each leaf is to be fitted externally with a heavy-duty nylon brush seal, which is retained in aluminum extrusions. (j) Heavy duty energy absorbing buffer stops are to be fitted at the extremities of the bottom tracks to prevent leaves over-running the ends of their tracks during towing / manual mode operation. These are to be designed to eliminate any trip hazard that might otherwise occur. At the end of Top tracks mechanical stoppers are provided. | ||||||||
| 2.06(k) The hangar door control systems are to be designed to comply with EN 12453: 2001, “Industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates – Safety in use of power operated doors – Requirements”. The main electrical control equipment for each drive leaf shall be housed in a standard steel electrical cabinet to IEC classification IP55 as defined in EN 60529:1992. The cabinet shall be mounted inside the bottom section of the drive leaf. All other principal electrical controls including limit switches and door sensors shall be fitted at low level for ease of maintenance. Each drive leaf is to be fitted at each end with a pendant push button. Push buttons and pendants shall be to IEC classification IP65 as defined in EN 60529:1992. The pendant is mounted to the end of the drive leaf on a cord approx. 2 metres long that allows the operator to move from side to side to see where the door is being driven. The pendants are to be hung up on hooks when not in use. Buttons provided should include (as a minimum): “MOVE” button; “EMERGENCY STOP” button; “DOOR CLOSED” indicator light, to indicate when a drive leaf has reached its fully closed position. The push button system shall ensure that drive leaf can only be operated from their leading edge i.e. not allow any drive leaf to be reversed. | ||||||||
| 2.07(l) Each drive leaf is to be fitted on the inside face with an audible and a visual alarm. The alarms are to operate for a short period before a drive leaf starts to move. Interlock switches are to be fitted to any access covers for drive units and electrical control panel doors, to prevent their drive leaf being used while these are open. (m) Each leaf shall be provided with suitable nos of cleats at Top & Bottom designed of suitable dimension which shall be capable of withstanding the weight of the door including incase rollers become free/ fails /break then door shall not fall from its rails. (n) minimum of 90% of the door design, fabrication, and construction must be completed in the factory to ensure quality control and precision. (o) The detailed specifications of hangar door including that for electronic/mechanichal drive system for each door panel shall be as per hangar door manufacturer. Design shall be submitted by the lowest bidder after acceptance of contract and vetting of the design from third party (IIT/NIT) will be done before execution of the work. Hangar door to be installed wtihout disturbing the existing structure. (p) Hangar Door Manufacturers must submit at least one direct order copy or work completion certificate from the Military Engineering Services (MES) in the financial year 2024-25. (q) Hangar Door Manufacturers must furnish documented proof of performing and installing a minimum of 8 No's of motorized sliding hangar doors in the financial year 2024-2025. (r) Manufactured products will be inspected at the factory before dispatch to the site. | ||||||||
