Note 1. Item for which no rate or price has been entered in the bill of quantities, will not be paid for by the Employer when executed and shall be deemed covered by the other rates and prices in the Bill of Quantities (refer: ITB Clause 13.2 and GCC Clause 43.3),Latest Amenments/ Editions of all IS codes should be used. 2. Unit rates and prices shall be quoted by the bidder in Indian rupee. 3. Where there is a discrepancy between the rate in figures and works, the rates in words will govern 4. Where there is a discrepancy between the unit rate and the line item total resulting from multiplying the unit rate by quantity, the unit rate quoted shall govern. 5. The rates shall be inclusive of all duties, Taxes such as GST etc. 6. All the work / Material shall be executed as per Punjab PWD Book of specifications as well as ISI specification with latest amendments. (As per list attached) 7. All the quantities has been calculated from the Drawings attached. 8. Contractor must provide and maintain sign boards, fencing of trenches, Indicators for work under execution, diversion of traffic, night signals, fixing of caution boards and any other safety measure required at site. The contractor is also responsible for protection of existing service i.e. telephone cables, electric lines, water supply lines and gas lines etc. 9. Until and unless specified in DNIT, the maximum width of trenches for payment purposes shall be as given in PWD specifications book. If actual width of trench is less than the specified, the actual quantity of excavation shall be paid. If the actual width of trench is greater than specified, standard specified section will be paid. 10. Nothing extra will be payable in respect of item no. 28.1 to 28.2 for any seepage of water during excavation work above spring level. 11. The rates of item no. 28.1 to 28.2 includes the cost of removing trees, roots, kankars and other hand materials during excavation. 12. If any excavation is abandoned due to change in alignment necessitated by any obstruction such as pipes, electric/ telephone cables or any other reasons, the contractor will be paid for the actual work done in that trench and back filling etc. 13. No extra shall be payable in respect of item no. 28.1 to 28.2 due to other unforeseen difficulties, hardness of soil or any other factors. The rates in these chapters does not include cutting through metalled roads and sorting, stacking of road metal, which will be paid separately. 14. Excavation work will be done manually in built up street/ lane where wall to wall width is upto 3.0 meters. Where as in open area or built up street/ land having wall to wall width more than 3.0 meter, excavation will be done by mechanical means. In case of unavoidable cirCumstances, If manual excavation is required other than specified above. Superintending Engineer is competent to permit after his personal satisfaction subject to prior approval on the record. If prior approval is not accorded for manual excavation then contractor will be paid as excavation by mech. means and the contractor will have no claim for that. 15. All water supply lines will be got tested by contractor before back filling. If there is any leakage or damage during execution or after commissioning, the same will be rectified by the contractor at his own cost, loss or damage what so ever may be, shall be borne by the contractor. 16. Material defect, execution defect or other defects if any on the part of the contractor, found at later stage could not be traced while execution of work and are not part of maintenance, will remain the responsibility of the contractor to set right the same at his own cost, though he may have taken all his dues. 17. Material shall be duly ISI marked and of reputed brand should be used 18. Rate of all credit items quoted by the bidder will be considered as negative (i.e. amount to be deposited to the department) 19. Conditional Tenders shall be rejected.
