Conducting plate load test of 6.2 KN and submission of report at places as directed for the purpose of finding of bearing capacity of soil settlement and K-value as per clause 4.3.1 IS 9214-1979 with correction for saturation, bending of plates and load defection curve and with the help of reaction plate including cost of all operators and bearing plate required for the testing with transportation charge complete all as specified and as directed.
The following works are to be carried out for soil investigation for re-construction of main runway at ALG Vijaynagar under GE(AF) Jorhat :- For Flexible Pavement :- (a) Drilling Nx size through boulder/rock/sand and all types of strata from ground level to 10 metres (minimum). (b) Carrying out Standard Penetration Test (SPT) or DCPT in case of boulders in bore holes as per IS 2131-1985. (c) Collecting disturbed samples at every 1.0m or change of strata including packing and handling all complete. (d) Collecting undisturbed samples at every 1.5m or change of strata including packing and handling all complete as per IS 2132-1985. (e) Soaked CBR Test (IS-2720 Part 16) :- (i) Investigation interval :- where different types of soil are expected to be encountered in subgrade, one test in staggered fashion, located at an interval of every 250m is to be carried for a facility. (Each test is an average of three CBR tests on samples from a single bore hole). Investigation interval may be reduced as per site requirement or if varying soil profile is observed in preliminary investigation. * Dispersals, runways, taxi ways would be independent facilities for this purpose. Tests astride all facilities wherever flexible pavement is desired will be carried out as depicted above. (ii) Investigation depth 0.6m below sub grade. (iii) In case embankment is being made using borrow material then IRC 36 will also be referred for detailed investigations.
(f) Carrying out laboratory test for :- soil investigations. (i) Grain size analysis. (ii) Liquid and plastic limit and plasticity index. (iii) Natural moisture content. (iv) Specific gravity. (v) Bulk and dry density. (vi) Shear characteristic from undisturbed sample using direct shear/tri-axial shear test. (vii) Unconfined compression test. (viii) Consolidation test. (ix) Free swell index. (x) Loc of water table & Loc of HFL. (xi) SPT resistance curve. (xii) Soil classification (IS- 1498) (xiii) Particle size analysis ( IS- 2720 Part 22). (xiv) Atterberg limits (IS - 2720 Part 5). (xv) Moisture Density relationships (IS- 2720 Part 7 & 8 ). (xvi) Swelling pressure test. (xvii) Natural moisture content ( IS - 2520 Part 2) and in-situ density. (xviii) Organic matter ( IS- 2720 Part 22). (xix) Permeability ( IS -2720 Part 15). (g) Investigation depth :- upto 3m below sub grade. (h) Investigation interval :- Every 120m in staggered fashion 1-2 metre away astride the facility.
(j) The report to include clearly the following parameters :- (i) Safe bearing capacity (SBC) of soil. (ii) Whether effect of high water table been considered or not in working out SBC. Recommendation for SBC based on shear and settlement criteria including recommendation for improvement of SBC if any. (iii) Type of soil. (iv) Suggested size and depth for tripple storeyed building. (v) Sulphate content of soil. NOTE : (i) Test should be done through NABL approved laboratories. (ii) Photographic record to be submitted. (iii) Typical boring log drawing alongwith legend. (iv) All soil data for pavement design as per E-in -C's Branch policy guideline for testing and record vide letter No. 95610/SEMT/E2 Plg (Pav) dt 24 Jan 2014. (v) The final report of Geotech investigation to be vetted by IIT/NIT Engineering Institute. * All above points of these note are applicable on Srl item No. 01 & 02.
Carrying out detailed topographical survey using digital total station instrument marking all existing features, boundaries, buildings, carriage ways, trees, electric/telephone lines, footpath, drains, sewer lines, ponds, hillocks, marshy lands, approach road, main road, etc. using total station, digital instruments, preparation of drawings maintaining all the above parameters and with all dimensions of perimeter, diagonals, angles, marking the position of the existing structures with the plinth levels, calculation of the land area in 3.0m x 3.0m grid interval and 0.3m contour interval complete all as specified and as directed. (a) The survey of Air Field to be done with total station survey report. (b) The instrument to be shifted after every 30m interval. (c) The total station instrument should have least count of 1' to 2'. (d) The BM to be established every 30m so that the instrument may be placed in between in BM and the checking of level be done from both the BM. (e) The survey should start from one point and it should be end at the same point where it had started. (f) The survey report to including contour map, drainage system, link taxi, dispersal, shoulder, any operational building and blast pen. (g) The grid for pavement facilities to be of 2m x 2m and the grid for shoulder and remaining air field to be of 10m x 10m. (h) All the levels should have reference to ARP of the Air Field area. (j) The proposed level sheet of pavement facilities to be approved by GE/CWE/CE and consultant.
(k) The quantity calculation for grade correction, earth work and drain to be submitted alongwith level sheet of all facility. (l) Complete DPR alongwith level sheet/ Earth work calculation/ Drainage system. NOTE : (i) Photographic record to be submitted. (ii) Level Sheet of initial level to be submitted in triplicate.
