| 1 | M&L For cleaning the surface with compressor air and make the surface free from dust and other particle and apply cold polymeric bitumen emulsion (PME) @1.00 ltr per sqm in one coats after dilution with 50% water , viz in ratio 1:1 ( water :PME ) by mechanical spraying machine complete all as specified and directed.
Note : The following points shall be taken into consideration while quoting his rate for the items. (a) No price adjusment shall be applicable if excess quantity of cold polymeric bitumen emulsion is used unders this items.
(b) A performance guarantee cerrtificate for two years shall be submitted by the contractor after physical completion of the work.
Note: Applicable for S.N.1 the work will be carried out as per user requirment from 8:30 hrs to 20:00 hrs . the deployment of labour and T&P arrangment on the runway shall be intimated to the contractor by 0800 hours each day in the morning. The contractor has to provide necessary arrangment and light etc and quated the rate according for considering late working hours at night. | 2 | M & L for racking out of old existing sealant compound and back up rod of the existing joints by special tools like cutting blade/ machines, widening of joints by 2 mm by using joint cutting blades of appropriate size, straight and smooth edges, joint cleaned thoroughly with application of compressed air, joint shall be made dry, vacuum cleaned and free of dirt, oil, vegetation and other debris. Application of two coats of primer with thin brush by forward and backward movement at an interval of 30 minutes before placing the backup rod 12 mm and pouring the sealant. Thereafter filled with closed cell, medium density, cross linked polythene form backup rod of appropriate dia for complete length of the joint, over it to be filled with polyurethane joint sealant 10 mm thick meeting the requirements mentioned in BS 5212, BS 4254 and EN 141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor (MAF) of +/-30%. width of joint 12-15 mm
