SOIL INVESTIGATION FOR PROVISION OF SWIMMING POOL AT FAZILKA MILITARY STATION

Soil Investigation: Mobilization of drilling machinery, accessories, and manpower at site and demobilization of the same after completion of the entire work. Carrying out soil investigation by drilling bore holes (100 mm dia in any type of soil and 75 mm dia (Nx size) in rock up to depth of 15M depth respectively) and collecting disturbed soil samples/rock core from different locations for carrying out relevant laboratory tests as per NBC, IS-1892, 2131, 2132, 1888, 2720, 1904, 6403, 8009, 1893, 1498, 4968, and SP-36 in general and containing the following in particular, all as directed by Engineer-in-Charge inclusive of undermentioned tests. Notes / Scope of Tests: (a) Conducting density test of soil (lab test). (b) Collecting undisturbed soil samples. (c) Water absorption test (Lab Test). (d) Soaked crushing strength test on rock. (e) Atterberg's Limit on soil. (f) Grain size distribution and analysis. (g) Soil characteristics. (h) Conducting standard penetration test (SPT shall be done at 1.0 M interval). (j) Value of cohesion and angle of internal friction. (k) Specific Gravity. (k) Recommended SBC at different depths of foundation separately for the portions with and without basement. (l) SBC and its calculation based on 'N' value, shear strength, and settlement criteria. (m) SBC at depth 1.5m, 2.0m, 2.5m may be provided. (n) Depth of water table (maximum and minimum). (p) Chemical analysis of soil and recommendation and type of cement to be used for RCC foundation. (q) Porosity of water. (r) Depth of exploration may be considered 15m. (t) Details of soil profile and bore logs. (u) Swelling index & swelling pressure in respect of black cotton/expansive soil and its depth layers be provided. (v) Recommendation on filling under floors and filling under protection including plinth protection. (w) Modulus of subgrade reaction. (x) Colour photographs on A4 size photography (bond paper) of the site with locations of the boreholes duly flagged should be submitted. The photographs should also preferably include any reference structure and the identification of the same to be marked. (y) CD containing video evidence of the depth of each bore hole and machinery detailed at site location.

Plate load test for ascertaining SBC at the proposed level of foundation specifically for swimming pool level only.

K value of soil 0.5m to 5m depth required in case of swimming pool/UG water retaining system.
