Mobilisation of Mechanical drilling equipment / rig and shifting of entire arrange ment from one bore to another bore hole location and setting of boring/drilling rig as required/directed by Engineer-in-charge Note: Total 03 jobs are involved with this project. Soil investigation is required in 4 Nos sites within 2km range.

SOIL INVESTIGATION (a) Soil investigation for construction of modular operation theatre, CSSD and ICU alongwith medical gas pipe line system of MH Danapur Cantt - No of bore hole - 02 Nos (Depth 25m) (b) Soil investigation for Provn of essential OTM accn for office complex of J&B Sub Area Danapur - No of bore hole-02 Nos (Depth 25m) (c) Soil investigation for Construction of office and residential accomodation for DEO Danapur under GE Danapur Cantt - No of bore hole - 06 Nos (Depth 25m)

(A) Boring 150mm dia bore hole to 15 mtr through the following type of strata for Provn of Construction of Modular Operation Theatre, CSSD and ICU alongwith medical gas pipe line system of MH Danapur Cantt, provn of essential OTM accn for office complex of J&B Sub Area and Construction of office and residential accomodation for DEO Danapur (i) Any type of soil

(B) Boring 150mm dia bore hole 16 to 25 mtr through the following type of strata for Provn of Modular Operation Theatre, CSSD and ICU alongwith Medical gas pipe line system of MH Danapur Cantt Note: Depth of bore holes may be taken 25m or N value reaches 50, whichever is earlier in any type of soil/soft disintegrated rock/hard rock for isolated /combined / raft foundation. To ensure that boulders or layers of cementeous soil is not mistaken for bed rock, core drilling to be done to a depth of atleast 3.0m in bed rock in areas where boulders are found & collection/ preparation of rock samples and determination of bulk density, water absorption and compressive strength is done. However the maximum depth of bore hole is 10m in any case.

(C) Collection of undisturbed soil sample at 1.5m intervals or at any change in strata in 150mm bore thin walled tube including waxing, sealing, packing and transporting to the lab. (D) Carrying out Standard Penetration test(SPT) including collection of disturbed soil samples in bore holes at every 1.5m depth or any change in strata and submit the report with all requisite data. (E) Conducting necessary tests as per relevant IS codes :-1892/NBC 2005/SP36 on all collected samples which include the determination of:- (a) Atterberg limits- Liquid limit, Plastic limit , Shrinkage limit (b) Wet and dry density, degree of saturation of soil. (c) Unit weight(Bulk density), Natural Moisture content, Plasticity index, Specific gravity (d) Grain size analysis, Identification and classification of soil, Soil particle size distribution using sieve/hydrometer analysis (e) Shear parameter (C-Phi Analysis), Tri-axial shear test and C-Phi determination. (f) Consolidation test and permeability test (g) Specific gravity test for sand/rock (h) Crushing strength, Degree of weathering(CR value) and RQD of rock samples (j) Permeability test (k) Chemical analysis of ground water sample (min 02samples) (water to be obtained from the bottom of bore hole) (l) Free swelling Index and Swelling pressure if expansive soil encountered. (m) Depth of water table below Ground level (maximum and minimum) (n) Presence of loose soil if any and its depth (o) If weak soil with lesser N value as specified in Table-I of IS 1893(Part-I):2016 is encountered then evaluation of liquefaction potential shall be assessed and remedial action to be adopted shall be specified. (p) Chemical analysis of soil and recommendation and type of cement to be used for RCC foundation. (q) Recommendation for soil suitable for backfilling including plinth protection. (r ) RL of Ground level near each bore hole shall be also part of report.

Recommendation and submission of sources for CNS (Cohesive Non Swelling) soil (5250 Cum (approx) suitable for filling available in nearby proximity in 50-60 Km range.In case same is not available, submission of suitable proportion after trials of tests of available soil found in 50-60 Km range to get soil with properties equivalent to CNS soil. NOTE : Contractor shall propose the exact proportion of soil along with the quarry for mixing to come by the soil with properties equivalent to CNS soil as per IS 9451 : 1994 tested in accordance with IS 2720 (Part 41) :1977. Note :- For Each work.

Submission of report in four sets giving site plan showing the test points, sub soil profile, results of field investigations, laboratory test results, calculation of SBC, Comprehensive type of foundation and colour photographic record of geoexploration and lab testing. Note:- (a) For Each Work. (b) Rate includes all items of work necessary for carrying out complete soil exploration work, collection of sample, testing at laboratory and field test results and submission of reports(Four sets) (c) Rate includes for submission of detailed recommendation for open foundation, calculation of NET SBC at 1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0 m depth from shear as well as settlement criteria. SBC shall be calculated based on C-Phi analysis as well as SPT value. For calculation formulae given in IS 6403 shall be used, type of foundation and depth of footing be clearly specified. (d) In case weak soil strata is encountered , recommendation about pile foundation i.e type, Dia, Depth of pile, safe load carrying capacity and socketing of pile into hard rock shall be clearly given in the report. Also measure for ground improvement if required be included in the report. (e) The rates are including of all taxes. (f) Soil report should be submitted only after vetting from Govt Enginnering/IIT/NIT be done.
