(A) SOIL TESTING FOR PROVN OF SUMP AND PUMPING STATION TO FEED POTABLE WATER INSIDE FACTORY AT OFC KANPUR. (i) Boring of 150mm dia holes through overburden soil including shifting bore hole UG Sump 02 Nos Bore holes 15Mtr depth of each bore = 30 Mtr depth Pump house 01 Nos Bore holes of 06 Mtr depth = 06 Mtr depth (ii) Carrying out standard SPT at every 1.5m interval and at change of strata. (iii) Collection of disturbed samples at every 1.50m interval including handling and transporting complete to the laboratory. (iv) Swelling index of soil (v) Consolidation index (B) Conducting laboratory test of undisturbed and disturbed soil samples. (a) Natural moisture contents as per IS 2720 Part-III 1973. (b) Tri-axial compression test direct shear test as per IS 2720 Part-XIII 1972. (c) Consoladation tests as per IS 2720 Part-XV 1965. (d) Mechanical seive analysis as per IS 2720 Part-IV 1965 (e) Atterberg limit test as per IS 2720 Part-V 1970 (f) Particle size analysis hydrometer test as per IS 2720 Part-IV 1965 (g) Dry and bulk density test as per IS 2720 Part-XXVII 1980 (h) Specific gravity test as per IS 2720 Part-III 1980 (j) Swelling index of soil (k) Consolidation index

(C) Submission of photographs of all bore hole sites and test report in quadruplicate including recommendation of depth, type and safe allowable bearing capacity. (D) 01 Plate Load test to be carried out as per IS 1888-1982 for UG Sump capacity 1.00 lac gallon. Note: 1. The work should not be done through DEL. 2. Excavated material will be departments property. 3. Depth of bore for SPT should be upto hard strata 4. All Testing report to be vetted from IIT/HBTI or equivalent.
