Maintenance of Shutters in Nandambakkam Checkdam in Adyar River , Paruthipattu Checkdam and Kannapalayam Checkdam in Cooum River under the juridiction of Adayar Section in Chennai and Thiruvallur District

Fabricating, supply and erection of Lift Gate of Right flank scour vent Regulator in Nandambakkam Check dam of vent size 1.50mx2.00m including dismantling the eroded gate by using necessary gas cutting equipments and removing, handing over the corroded shutter parts to section officials as directed and fabricating the new gate made up of 12mm thick mild steel plate for skin plate, horizontally stiffened with 4Nos. of 200x100mm RSJ beams and vertically stiffened with 3 Nos of 125x65mm mild steel channel at the middle and the end verticals made up of 200mmx12mm mild steel Flat two numbers on both sides and end verticals strengthened with four numbers of diaphragm plate made up of 12mm thick mild steel plate and the both end verticals provided with two numbers of wheel assembly of size 180mm dia and 100mm thick made up of cast steel provided with gun metal bush at the centre. The rollers revolved on wheel pin made up of 40mm dia EN8 steel of required length which is fixed with the end verticals with 12mm thick mild steel collar plate and provided with 10mm thick mild steel wheel locking plate and grease nipples 1No. for each pin.

The top and side seals made up of musical note rubber seal of size 110mmx14mm with 40mm dia bulb fixed on seal seat made up of 50x12mm Mild Steel flat and provided with two corner seal made up of musical note rubber seals and all seals covered with 50mmx10mm mild steel flat fixed with required M12 CSK bolts of size 65mm,nuts and washers. The bottom seal made up of 75x12mm thick rubber seals covered with 65x10mm mild steel flats fastened with M12 bolts nuts and washers. The lifting plate made up of 16mm thick mild steel plate of required size provided with boss plate made up of 12mm thick mild steel plate. The existing suspension channels should be checked and if any damages found it should be rectified by replacing the portion of the channel with new one and fixing properly to the alignment. Repairing, welding wherever necessary and surface facing by buffing and grinding machines to embedded groove frames, sill beam top, seal track and roller track. Painting of new shutter, groove frames etc., with two coats of Zinc rich primer (85% + 5% Zinc content) and two coats of coal tar epoxy paint at an interval of 24Hrs. Paint shall be thoroughly stirred, strained, and kept at the uniform consistency during application. connecting shaft to the proper alignment and position in the vent by using necessary hoisting equipments such as A-frame, chain pullies etc. The rate including conveyance of all parts of hoisting arrangements to the workshop, cost of materials, machining, milling, threading charges and charges of equipments, conveying the repaired hoisting arrangements to the regulator site, to and fro conveyance charges of equipments and manual labours and fixing the hoisting arrangements in correct alignment and position to the vent by using manual labours including trial operation of shutter and all other taxes etc., complete.
