(a) Before testing a visual check to be carried out jointly by the contractor, Engr-in-Charge and rep of users for the mechanical condition of all conductors, bonds, joints.
(b) Testing continuity and resistance of conductors, ohmic resistance of lightning conductor system complete with air termination but without the earth electrode connection and recording results.
(c) Testing of each earth electrode point without continuity conductors, air termination and ring conductor.
(d) Testing the resistance to earth of the whole installations with all earth electrodes continuity, conductors, air termination and bonding of other services and results are to be recorded.
(e) The results are to be recorded in a prescribed format duly signed by contractor, Engr-in-Charge and rep of users and to be submitted by contractor in triplicate.
Notes : (i) The testing mentioned above against 1 (b) to (e) will be conducted only after rectifying the defects observed during visual check. (ii) M&L required for rectification of defects observed will be measured and paid separately under relevant items of sch 'A'. (iii) Unit rate quoted is deemed to be inclusive of writing board in white colour letters n.exc. 2 cm height on the black colour back ground on wall such as - Tested on, Due date of testing, E.g. EP No., ER in ohms. EP No. should be mentioned on individual earth pits and ER value of installation etc. all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge. (iv) Contractor has to arrange necessary testing instruments of suitable range duly latest calibrated (certificates to be produced). The rate quoted is deemed to be include the above provision. (v) If ohmic resistance value exceeds 1 ohm the system to be rectified by cleaning with CRC solution, tightening, replacement of bolts / nuts, rivets, etc; to get value below 1 ohm.
(vi) In case resistance value of earthing exceeding more than 5 ohms, the existing earthing to be replaced and same shall be measured and paid under appropirate item here-in-after. (vii) The quoted rate deemed to include for working with any height i.e lighting protection of admin building ARDE and All safety equipment and risk cover of man power deployed during work shall be bear by contractor. Supply and fix in repair air termination single pointed aluminium rod of 12 mm dia 300 mm long fixed to aluminium strip 25 x 3.15 mm including drilling holes, nuts, bolts washers for resting/ supporting of air terminals etc., complete all as specified and directed. Note :- (i) Unit rate quoted is deemed to be inclusive the cost of one lead joint and 2 Nos GI nuts, bolts washers, screws and necessary T&P and machining work required at site. (ii) Rate should be included by contractor for site clearance including removing hurbs/ shrub and trimming of tree whereever required. Supply and fix in repairs pole junction box sheet moulded compound (SMC) type with hinged door and locking arrangement of size 250 x 200 x 100mm (internal) comprising, one No MCB single pole of capacity 6 Amps 240 volts and one No terminal for loop in & loop out suitable for three phase street light system including nuts and bolts and connecting up complete, including MS clamp fabricated out of MS flat of size 25x3mm all as specified and directed.
Supply and fix in replacement Automatic Street Light Switch using NATURE SWITCH for automatic switching of Street Lights based on LUX level of Natural Light. The Sensor (Nature Switch) along with suitable Power Contactor, MCB and Support Terminals should be enclosed in pole/wall mountable Enclosure made of Rust Proof, Electric Shock Proof, Termite proof and FR grade special moulding compound (Sintex make SMC Junction box) conforming to IP54. Material and labour for Earthing complete with hot dip copper electrode, 17.20mm dia copper bonded earthing rod with strip in pipe design 3 metre long and having copper terminal of 100x50x5 mm on inner pipe to connect earthing strip with holes and nut bolts buried directly and vertically in ground with top edge at 30 cm below ground level after making bore hole of 100 mm dia and 3.5 metre deep using suitable mechanical drilling machine (for drilling near the specified bldg) connected with copper strip with minimum two Nos of copper/brass nut, bolts and connected to test point from earthing pit. The electrode pipes should be filled with 2x 25 Kg bags of carbon based earthing compound. The compound shall be highly conductive, hygroscopic, non magnetic, non corrosive in nature and have best moisture retaining qualities! with ph value between 7 to 9, connected to the earthing test point, fiber reinforced plastic pit not less than 300x300x240 mm with pit cover, including necessary returning, filling and removal of extra soil complete all as specified and as directed. NOTE: (i) copper strip will be measured and paid sepeartely. (ii) Resistance of earthing should not more than 2 Ohm. Test report shall be prepared and submitted by the contractor in triplicate duly obtaining signatures of MES JE / AGE & PMG / user. The electrode pipes should be filled with 2x 25 Kg bags of carbon based earthing compound. NOTE: (i) GI strip beyond 21 metre will be measured and paid sepeartely. (ii) Resistance of earthing should not more than 2 Ohm. Test report shall be prepared and submitted by the contractor in triplicate duly obtaining signatures of MES JE / AGE & PMG / user. Test results are to be written in letters of 20mm height in white colour on black paint back ground. If the desired result not obtained after testing, the contractor should do re-eathing without any extra cost to Govt.
