REPAIR MAINT OF LIGHTNING PROTECTION, EARTHING ALONGWITH OTHER CONNECTED E/M WORK AT ARDE LAB UNDER GE(I) RnD PASHAN

Material and labour for Testing of conventional / chemical type earthing for lightning protection system / PSDS / ESDS system Earth Resisitivity to floor complete all as specified and directed here as under in Techanical Area/ Lab / Magzine bldgs inside ARDE Complex :- (a) Before testing a visual check to be carried out jointly by the contractor, Engr-in-Charge and rep of users for the mechanical condition of all conductors, bonds, joints. (b) Testing continuity and resistance of conductors, ohmic resistance of lightning conductor system complete with air termination but without the earth electrode connection and recording results. (c) Testing of each earth electrode point without continuity conductors, air termination and ring conductor. (d) Testing the resistance to earth of the whole installations with all earth electrodes continuity, conductors, air termination and bonding of other services and results are to be recorded. (e) The results are to be recorded in a prescribed format duly signed by contractor, Engr-in-Charge and rep of users and to be submitted by contractor in triplicate. Notes : (i) The testing mentioned above against 1 (b) to (e) will be conducted only after rectifying the defects observed during visual check. (ii) M&L required for rectification of defects observed will be measured and paid separately under relevant items of sch 'A'. (iii) Unit rate quoted is deemed to be inclusive of writing board in white colour letters n.exc. 2 cm height on the black colour back ground on wall such as - Tested on, Due date of testing, E.g. EP No., ER in ohms. EP No. should be mentioned on individual earth pits and ER value of installation etc. all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge. (iv) Contractor has to arrange necessary testing instruments of suitable range duly latest calibrated (certificates to be produced). The rate quoted is deemed to be include the above provision. (v) If ohmic resistance value exceeds 1 ohm the system to be rectified by cleaning with CRC solution, tightening, replacement of bolts / nuts, rivets, etc; to get value below 1 ohm. (vi) In case resistance value of earthing exceeding more than 5 ohms, the existing earthing to be replaced and same shall be measured and paid under appropirate item here-in-after. (vii) The quoted rate deemed to include for working with any height i.e lighting protection of admin building ARDE and All safety equipment and risk cover of man power deployed during work shall be bear by contractor. Nothing extra will be paid for any damage/ loss by the department.

S&F earth pit indicator board made out of 300 x 300 x 3 mm MS sheet fixed on and including 25 x 25 x 3 mm angle Iron post 1 metre length with PCC 1:2:4 type B1 foundation block of size 200m x 200m x 300 mm using 20mm graded stone aggregate and painting exposted surface of steel with two coats of synthetic enamel paint over coat of red oxide primer and writing letter of size nexc 60mm height complete all as specified and directed by Engineer - in - charge. The indicator should indicate the following :- (i) Earth Pit No. (ii) Earth result in Ohms (iii) Date of testing

Taking down / dismantling existing perished aluminium strip of any size from any height of roof top / on walls of conventional type lightening protection network system complete all as specified and as directed.

Re-fixing of serviceable aluminium strip of any size obtained from sl item No 3 above, at any type of building / magazine / lab at any height including any type on walls and jointing the system of conventional type lightening protection network and making good the disturbed surface of walls /roof top match with existing surface complete all as specified and as directed.

Material and labour for aluminium strip in of size 25x3.15 mm fixed on wall / roof along with insulator and PCC block with epoxy based insulator of 35mm size at distance / interval not more than 1.0 metre for down conductor air terminal network including drilling two Nos holes at each joint, one set of lead washers between strips, two sets GI nut and bolt, gutties, screws etc complete all as specified and directed. Note : Insulator & PCC block shall be measured and paid separately.

Taking down / dismantling existing perished GI strip of any size from on walls / buried in to ground of conventional type lightening protection network system complete all as specified and directed.

Re-fixing serviceable GI strip of any size as obtained from as per sl item No 6 above, at any type of building / magazine lab at any height including any type on walls jointing the system of conventional type lightening protection network and making good the disturbed surface of walls / roof top match with existing surface complete all as specified and as directed.

Material and labour for galvanised iron strip of size 32 x 6 mm burried in ground or fixed on wall with suitable 35 mm size epoxy base insulator fixed on wall / floors fixed at distance / interval not more than 1.0 metre and connected to test point including bending, jointing at test points with 2 Nos GI nuts, bolts, with lead washers, jointing strips at all joints as directed by Engr-in-Charge. Note : Epoxy base insulator shall be measured and paid separately.

Taking down / dismantling existing perished copper strip of any size from any height of roof top / on walls of conventional type lightening protection network system complete all as specifiec and as directed.

Re-fixing serviceable copper strip of any size mm as obtained from as per sl item No 9 above, at any type of building/ magzine/ lab at any height including any type on walls and jointing the system of conventional type lightening protection network and making good the disturbed surface of walls / roof top match with existing surface complete all as specified and as directed.
