Conducting survey and locating the borehole as per the drawing or as directed by engineer in charge. The location of the borehole to be identified based on the coordinates provided in the drawing by transferring the coordinates from the marked-up points given in the drawing/ shown by Engineer along with grid / bench mark. The distance of survey traverse will not be more than 2 KM. Use of GPS instrument for locating bore holes will not be acceptable, however it may be used as a confirmatory system only. 2. Making temporary access roads as required to the boring/ drilling locations from existing approach roads to site. 3. Arranging water supply for the drilling and testing. 4. This item shall be operated only once for each bore hole. Any replacement or change of equipment needed due to any reasons, contractor shall carry out at his own cost. 5. Required Site clearance, earthwork etc. suiting for mounting of the equipment and creating working environment. 6. No extra payment shall be made for any crisscross or back and forth movement of the rig after setting, required for proper positioning, including marking the drill hole location on ground by actual survey, as per the drawing or instructions of the Engineer in charge.
Rotary boring/ drilling of ‘SX’ size holes vertically to log and collect samples through all kinds of soil mixed with boulders/pebbles with adequate and suitable equipment for all depths below existing ground level as per specifications, drawings and as directed by the Engineer. The quoted rate shall include the following: 1. Mobilization and Demobilization of adequate numbers of suitable boring and drilling rigs of hydraulic type, including necessary drilling rods, pumps, miscellaneous equipment, tools, spares, consumables etc. adequate for each set of plant, survey equipment, etc. Additional rigs and equipment shall be mobilized by contractor, if needed, for timely completion of the work at his own cost. 2. Deployment of technical, skilled, semiskilled & unskilled man power required for carrying out the complete work as per specifications & drawings. 3. Providing suitable temporary removable casing for ensuring stability of boreholes in soil/ weathered rock. 4. Measurement of ground water level as per specifications & drawings. 5. Maintenance of drilling records and submission of final geological logs in hardcopy as well as soft copy. 6. Rotary drilling for following depth:
From GL to 20 m below GL
Obtaining Undisturbed tube / piston soil samples, 90 mm diameter & 450 mm long from all depths of the drilled boreholes, necessary sealing and transporting the same to testing laboratory as per specifications and as directed by the engineer. Collection of undisturbed samples may require deployment of special samplers depending on the soil type encountered.
Plugging of bore holes as per specifications and as directed by Engineer-In-Charge using 1:2 cement-sand grout. Note: 1. The grouting of the hole shall be done using a tremie extending up to bottom of the hole and raising the same as the grouting proceeds. 2. The payment will be made in running metre for the depth of bore hole plugged.
