Improvements by Providing 40KVA Generator set to the District Collector Camp Office at Konam in Kanniyakumari District

Supply, erection,Testing, Commissioning and Handing over of 1 No 40 KVA Diesel Generator set of 0.8 P.F.( lagging) Three phase 415V/ 420 Volts, 50Hz, 1500 RPM CPCB Approved capacity comprising of Engine( KIRLOSKAR/ CUMMINS or equivalant) developing 156 BHP water cooled clock wise rotating feed pump with 32KW/40KVA operating capacity brushless alternator close coupled, underneath fuel tank, standard safeties LLOP with stop solenoid battery with lead Electric start and fitting and accessories confirming to IS and AMF panel as detailed below including transporting & unloading charges.

(A) Engine: Water cooled diesel engine suitable for Generator application with a shaft out put of 156BHP at 1500 RPM under NTP conditions. The Engine shall comprise the following standard fittings: Flexible coupling or suitable close compact coupling with guard, flywheel, air cleaner, fan blower type with guard, radiator with guard, water pump engine mounted, fuel pump, lubricating oil filter, lubricating oil pump, governor (mechanical/ hydraulic),flexible exhaust piping of 50cms length exhaust silencer residential type.

(B)12Volt Electronic starting Equipment: Complete with starter motor, dynamo, standard 12 V batteries with cable. (C) ENGINE INSTURMENT PANEL / MOUNTED: Starting push button / starting key, lubricating oil, temperature gauge, lubricating oil pressure gauge, water temperature gauge, safety control for low lubricating oil, pressure, safety control for over speed, hour meter (mechnical) and RPM indicator, battery charging ammeter. The engine should be capable of providing 10% over load for one hour for every 11 hours continuous at full load.

(D)ALTERNATOR: 40KVA/20KW Capacity of brushless alternator, AC 3 phase, 50Hz, 415/420V, 0.8 PF ( lagging), 1500 RPM under NTP conditions, ( KIRLOSKAR/ Stamford or equivalant) conforming to IS:13364 (Part-II)/ 1992 shall be screen protected drip proof ,to be coupled by means of Flexible coupling or suitable close compact coupling to the diesel engine.

(E) AMF CONTROL PANEL: The AMF control panel (cubical) should be fabricated with vermin proof and dust proof best quality sheet steel and floor mounted with removable rear panels and hinged front doors with enamel painted and incorporating the following with suitable provision for connection incoming and outgoing leads having been made on the control panel. 1. AC Ammeter and selector switch 2 . Volmeter and selector switch 3. 3Nos current transformer with suitable ratio 4. Frequency meter 5. KWH meter 6. 1 No power factor meter

7. Battery charging set comprising of the following for charging the battery from mains a. Transformer / Rectifer b. DC Ammeter c. DC Volt meter d. ON / OFF switch e. Charging rate selector switch f. push button start g. push button stop h. push button reset 8. 1 set Air break contactor with auxiliary netural contactor for main supply 9. 1 set Low volage HRC fuse for the short circuit protection of the main supply 10. 1 set Alternator contactor with auxiliary netural contactor 11. 1 set Three pole bimetal release for over load protection of alternator 12. 1 set low voltage HRC fuse for the short circuit protection of the alternator

F.ACOUSTIC ENCLOSURE: The Acoustic enclosure, Self standing weather proof CPCB Typed Acoustic canopy floor mounting type with modular construction with the provision to assemble and dismantle easily and designed to suit all weather condtions. Erection of acoustic enclosure suitable for 40KVA Diesel generator complete with all accessories as above and suitable supports etc.The maximum permissible sound pressure level should be as per the norms prescribed by the central/ state pollution control board or competent authorities or should be 75 db(A) at 1 metre from the enclosure surface.Adequate ventilation to be provided so that generator performance is not affected and

temperature rise inside is limited. The emergency stop &suitable digital display meter for inside ambient temperature to be available on the enclosure panel and glass window to view control panel to be provided The enclosure shall be duly approved by the engine manufacturer of the engine provided for the generator set and should be to the satisfaction of inspecting / testing authorities concerned to suit CPCB norms. I. Manuals & Documentation: Operation & Maintenance manual for Engine, Maintenance Manual for alternator, Engine test certificate, alternator test certificate, circuit diagram for control panel, DG Set test certificate, CPCB compliance label fixed on Canopy. II. First charging of fuel, lubricating oil, coolant etc & battery charging for testing and commissioning of the generator set.
