The joint cover assembly system comprises of: (i) Elastomeric joint system : shall be made of extruded polyvinyl chloride or approved equivalent material with shore "A" hardness of 55+5 with UV stabiliser including provision of multi-cellular profile able to transfer loads to adjacent aluminium extrusions. The profile shall be flexible and exhibit a non-slip exposed surface that remains flat during all phases of movement (ii) Aluminium frame members : shall be made out of extruded aluminium sections conforming to ASTM B221. The alloy shall be 6061-T6 or 6063-T5 or H1200 or approved equivalent. The exposed surface shall be mill finished. (iii) Cover Plates, (iv) Self centering / turn bar arrangement : shall exhibit circular sphere ends that lock and slide inside the corresponding aluminium extrusion cavity to allow freedom of movement and flexure in all directions so as to accommodate multi-directional seismic movement without causing stress to joint components. The centre plate shall remain flush during thermal movement and during seismic movement, the centre plate shall displace temporarily and slide over the floor. (v) Sealants : shall be a one part polysulphide base synthetic rubber / silicon sealant The item shall include for providing secondary seal /visual seal /functional vinyl seal, lubricant adhesive as required at the back for full seismic movement for specific structural gap, fixing to RCC frame work / MS structures / Masonry walls using approved anchor fasteners /sealants on either side of seismic / separation joint. The entire system shall be fully gasketed to eliminate transition rattle, including providing & applying silicone sealant between the joint and abutting the substrate, grouting, scaffolding / staging for all heights, leads & levels etc. all complete as per approved shop drawings, manufacturer's specifications and as directed by the Engineer. The item shall include for repairing & profiling of the existing joint line with the help of approved polymer modified mortar to be fixed in alignment and straight line as per joint design width and joint design complete. The item shall also include for providing and fixing of 1.2mm thick EPDM / PVC water barrier membrane over the joint profile with the help of special adhesive and necessary loop throughout the joint profile before fixing of the joint system to ensure water tight joints etc. complete
